A study on the precision control of DC motor driving system using current-controlled feedforward compensation & optimal output feedback (전류제어형 입력보상 및 최적 출력제어를 적용한 직류전동기 구동시스템의 정밀 제어 방법에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, a controller design method for the DC motor driving system is described emphasizing the specified degree of accuracy undergoing large time varying disturbances, coulomb friction and arm-load resonance. A feedforward compensation technique using the current controller is proposed, and resulting in the performance improvement as well as the implementational simplicity. A time-weighted quadratic performance index is used in the optimization of the controller, which is a salient way of obtaining better closed-loop performance in a simple manner. Computer simulations are also given to show the usefulness of the proposed techniques.

Frame Design Considering Exciting Frequency and Driving Characteristic of a Traction Motor for Electric Locomotive (전기기관차 견인전동기 운전점 특성과 가진주파수를 고려한 프레임 설계)

  • In this paper, we were performed a structural analysis and durability analysis for an integral frame with an axle according to development of the electric locomotive traction motor. In terms of the structural stability, as a result of the analysis modeling with coupling conditions of beam element and an alternative element of three-dimensional, the maximum von-Mises stress of the locking screw mounting frame were similar as 50MPa and 51MPa. Also A comparison of the natural frequency and the exciting frequency while driving of the electric locomotive No. 8200, the natural frequency is 627.05Hz~856.9Hz while the exciting frequency is not more than most 30Hz or 553Hz, 1110Hz. Therefore, it is possible to avoid the resonance.

Analytical Assessment on the Cooling Structure of In-wheel Driving Inverter (인휠 모터 구동용 인버터의 냉각구조에 대한 해석적 평가)

  • In-wheel driving inverter inside engine room sometimes operates in the harsh environment like high temperature of about $105^{\circ}C$. Especially, the size and power density of the inverter has become smaller and more increased. Thus, it is essential to manage the temperature of the inverter with IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) switching devices for performance and endurance, because the temperature can be getting increase. In this paper, we performed the thermal flow analysis of inverter models with wave type and pin fin type cooling channels, and investigated the heat transfer characteristics of the inverter models using cooling water on channels at 8 L/min and $65^{\circ}C$. Also, we compared the thermal performance under various conditions such as coolant flow rate and layered power module structure. Therefore, we determined the feasibility of the initial inverter models and the thermal performance enhancement.

  • Steering characteristics is an important factor in the evaluation of vehicle quality. To estimate steering characteristics in the vehicle conceptual design stage, vehicle dynamics simulation methods are very efficient. However, it is often difficult to simulate vehicle dynamics for the specific driving scenarios in open-loop driving environment. An efficient driver-in-the-loop vehicle model will be efficient for this job. A good tire model is also very important for the accurate vehicle dynamics simulation. In this research, a driver model is used to simulate vehicle steering dynamics for a 8-dof vehicle model with STI(Systems Technology, Inc.) tire model. For the demonstration of this model, a SUV(sports utility vehicle) and a sedan were simulated.

  • In recent years, as the industry has been highly developed and precised, its driving and control system have been changed, what is more, revolutionized. The requirements of these change are more accuracy, more high efficiency, more miniaturized size and more servo functions. Step motor has been adopted for driving servo systems, because of easier controllability, open-loop control, high position accuracy at low speed. In this paper, we deal with developing step motor system, and describe the procedure that contains design, analysis. testing characteristics.

  • Because of linear operation by direct drive and compact system, and the free accumulation of position error, LPM is suitable for proportional control valves actuator. In this study, to develop electromagnetic proportional valves actuator we designed tooth shape of double sides LPM and suggested the driving principle based upon the excitation method, It's the magnetic structure is so complex by the cubic effect configuration that finite element analysis is required. By the 3D finite element analysis, we got the magnetic distribution of LPM and analyzed static thrust force characteristics. By this analyzation, we obtained basic data required for the practical use of driving system for the proportional control valves. Thus, considering electrical and mechanical constants we could design and manufacture double sides LPM for the proportional control valves.

  • In this paper, it presents the design and implementation of a Microstep control IC using Programmable Logic Device(PLD). A Microstep driver is implemented with a 5-phase hybrid stepping motor, which has a Pentagon winding, power MOSFETs, and some devices to improve the system characteristics. The Microstep driving method is used for high performance motion control, low vibration and low noise in motor control system. The improvement of the electrical and mechanical driving characteristic of a step motor is achieved by applying microstep driver.

  • In this study, as the preliminary step for developing an unmanned vehicle to deliver a container-box, we designed and implemented Automatic Guided Vehicle(AGV) Simulator for the purpose of Port Facilities Automation. It is preferable to research the intelligent AGV for delivery all day long. For complementing AGV simulator driving, we used multiple-sensor systems with vision, ultrasonic, IR and adapted the high-speed wireless LAN that satisfies the IEEE 802.11 Standard for bi-directional communication between main processor in AGV and Host computer. Here, we mounted on bottom frame in AGV Pentium-III processor, which combine and compute the information from each sensor system and control the AGV driving, and used the 80C196KC micro-controller to control the actuating and steering motors.

  • There are two kinds of the synchronous motor, one is an induction type motor started without a driving system, the other is the one started with an external driving system. but, both are complicated. Nowadays, in order to devoid for the synchronous motor being complicated in design, line start permanent magnet(LSPM) motors are being developed. The LSPM motor is composed of the rotor that has interior permanent magnet and aluminum bar instead of general rotor. In this paper, we analyzed the characteristics of the LSPM motor which has both characteristics of an induction motor and a synchronous motor, and we compared the the LSPM motor characteristics with the induction motor.

  • Consider the optimal design for PV system, it is apply to 3kW interconnected electric power PV system, that is a point of reference for 3kW PV the spread residential section system. Through the driving various practical system, we look into that for efficiency of generation and stability of interconnected system. Using obtained data acquisition, It can be suggest that installation and management for system parameter to optimal design maximum generation electric power. PV system have some losses that are variation radiation, shadow, change temperature, unbalanced grid connection, serial circuit loss, MPP deference loss, PCS loss and so forth. Using obtained various performance characteristic result, we can make database in the future, through the this study, we can get the reliance and have regard to spread PV system.
