LED Driving Circuit Design of Ultrasonic Speaker System for Sign Board (싸인 보드용 초음파 스피커 상태표시를 위한 LED 구동 회로의 설계)

  • In this study, we introduce an LED Driving circuit in order that the information state can indicate audio signal gain and radiate pattern of ultrasonic speaker system for a sign board. Ultrasonic speaker system decreases energy loss and transmits the sound farther. Ultrasonic speaker having such characteristics is useful in that it can be widely used in daily life. Additionally, Proposed LED circuit indicates the information state as linear LED brightness taken from interface of ultrasonic speaker system. Designed circuit is confirmed through $0.35{\mu}m$ CMOS process by Dong-bu.

Robust Vehicle Occupant Detection based on RGB-Depth-Thermal Camera (다양한 환경에서 강건한 RGB-Depth-Thermal 카메라 기반의 차량 탑승자 점유 검출)

  • Recently, the safety in vehicle also has become a hot topic as self-driving car is developed. In passive safety systems such as airbags and seat belts, the system is being changed into an active system that actively grasps the status and behavior of the passengers including the driver to mitigate the risk. Furthermore, it is expected that it will be possible to provide customized services such as seat deformation, air conditioning operation and D.W.D (Distraction While Driving) warning suitable for the passenger by using occupant information. In this paper, we propose robust vehicle occupant detection algorithm based on RGB-Depth-Thermal camera for obtaining the passengers information. The RGB-Depth-Thermal camera sensor system was configured to be robust against various environment. Also, one of the deep learning algorithms, OpenPose, was used for occupant detection. This algorithm is advantageous not only for RGB image but also for thermal image even using existing learned model. The algorithm will be supplemented to acquire high level information such as passenger attitude detection and face recognition mentioned in the introduction and provide customized active convenience service.

  • The accidents caused by drivers while driving are considered as the major causes along with other causes such as conditions of roads, weather and cars. In this study, we investigated the driver's workloads under three different driving conditions (Weather, Driving time zone, and Traffic density) through analyzing biological signals obtained from a car driving simulator system. The proposed method is able to detect R waves and R-R interval calculation in the ECG. Heart rate variability (HRV) was investigated for the time domain to determine the changes in driver's conditions.

  • Recently, a variety of IT technologies are applied to the vehicle. However, some vehicle-IT technologies without security considerations may cause security problems. Specially, some researches about a smart key system applied to automobiles for authentication show that the system is insecure from replay attacks and modification attacks using a wireless signal of the smart key. Thus, in this paper, we propose an authentication method for the driver by using driving patterns. Nowadays, we can obtain driving patterns using the In-vehicle network data. In our authentication model, we make driving ppatterns of car owner using standard normal distribution and apply these patterns to driver authentication. To validate our model, we perform an k-fold cross validation test using In-vehicle network data and obtain the result(true positive rate 0.7/false positive rate is 0.35). Considering to our result, it turns out that our model is more secure than existing 'what you have' authentication models such as the smart key if the authentication result is sent to the car owner through mobile networks.

Fundamental Research on Developing Additional Information System by Connecting Route Guidance Information with Turn Signal Operation (경로유도정보와 방향지시등을 연동한 추가정보 제공 시스템 개발의 기초 연구)

  • A car navigation system as an in-vehicle route guidance information (RGI) offers a state-of-the-art technological solution to driver navigation in an unfamiliar area. However, the RGI is provided by some pre-determined options in terms of the interface between a driver and a car navigation system. Drivers occasionally pass the target intersection owing to non- or late- recognizing it. This paper is examined the position of driver's turn signal operation and intersection recognition approaching at the target intersection which is difficult to identify, as a fundamental research on developing the additional RGI connecting with the turn signal control. The field experiment was conducted to measure distances of the turn signal operation and the intersection recognition from the target intersection according to left turns, right turns, and landmarks at adjacent intersection. And glance behavior to the car navigation display was evaluated by using an eye camera. The results of the field study indicate that, most case of driving, drivers operate the turn signal until 40m to 50m before coming to the target intersection. The driving simulator experiment was performed to examine the effectiveness of providing the additional RGI when drivers did not operate the turn signal approaching at the target intersection based on the results of the field study. To provide the additional RGI is effective for the intersection identification and recognition, and expected to improve the traffic safety and the comfort for drivers.

  • We report simple structure red phosphorescent devices comprising only single organic layer structure. Maximum current efficiency of 9.44 cd/A and the driving voltage of 5.4 V are obtained in this single layer structure PHOLEDs, respectively. The mixed host system using electron transporting and hole transporting materials doped with $Ir(piq)_3$ provides such high efficiency and reasonable driving voltage. The principal to simplification is the direct charges injection from the metallic electrodes into mixed host materials.

  • This paper presents results of the development of the Turbo-generator system with structure which is HSG(High Speed Generator) installed to high speed gas-turbine engine directly. Turbo-generator with high speed motor-generator directly has many advantages aspects of weight, size, lubrication system and complexity of the system compared of conventional turbo-generator system with gear-box. But because of direct high speed operation of the high speed generator, we have to need stable high speed motor driving algorithm for perfect engine ignition when gas turbine starting. Also we have to need design of the PCU(Power Conditioning Unit) for converting high speed AC output power to conventional AC power or needed DC power.

  • This paper describes a Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system based on the radar driven fusion with camera. The objective of FCW system is to provide an appropriate alert with satisfying the evaluation scenarios of US-NCAP and a driver acceptance. For this purpose, this paper proposed a data fusion algorithm and a collision warning algorithm. The data fusion algorithm generates information of fusion target depending on the confidence of camera sensor. The collision warning algorithm calculates indexes and determines an appropriate alert-timing by using analysis results of manual driving data. The FCW system with the proposed data fusion and collision warning algorithm was investigated via scenarios of US-NCAP and a real-road driving. It is shown that the proposed FCW system can improve the accuracy of an alarm-timing and reduce the false alarm in real roads.

  • LTV(Light Tactical vehicle) operating in our military requires higher levels of performance and durability to withstand harsher conditions than ordinary vehicles, as they must travel on both rough-train and off-road as well as on public roads. Recently, developed light tactical vehicle is developed by a variety of test evaluations in order to satisfy ROC(Required Operational Capability) by the requirement military group. However, there is no standardized driving test condition for satisfying the durability performance of Korean tactical vehicle. Therefore, this study aims to provide basic data to establish reliable driving test conditions by analyzing the maneuver conditions and the driving data in order to select the representative drive course required. To do this, we analyzed the future operational environment, the area of operation analysis and the driving information of light tactical vehicle.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate suitability of Underground Facility Construction in great land development area. Because there are the construct of national integration information control system and the advance of information technique, the necessity that construct the UIS to manage the urban space systematically is enlarged. In the purpose that we prepare the base of underground facility management system by driving the step digitalizing facilities buried underground and protect urban safety accident, we introduce the GIS in land development area. This study proposes the improvement direction by examining the outcome through the driving method and the outcome analysis.
