Hypoid gears are widely used in rear drive and 4WD vehicle axles. Investigation of their sensitivity to deflections is one of the most important aspects of their design and optimization procedures. The deflection test is performed in the actual gear mounting using completely processed gear. This test should cover the full operating range of gear loads from no load to peak load. Under peak load the contact pattern should extend to the tooth boundaries without showing a concentration of the contact pattern at any point on the tooth surface. Transmission error is tested on an axle assembly triaxial real car load condition.

This paper presents the algorithm of an adaptive model-free-control-based steering control for multi-axle all-terrain cranes for which the recursive least squares with forgetting are applied. To optimally control the actual system in the real world, the linear or nonlinear mathematical model of the system should be given for the determination of the optimal control inputs; however, it is difficult to derive the mathematical model due to the actual system's complexity and nonlinearity. To address this problem, the proposed adaptive model-free controller is used to control the steering angle of a multi-axle crane. The proposed model-free control algorithm uses only the input and output signals of the system to determine the optimal inputs. The recursive least-squares algorithm identifies first-order systems. The uncertainty between the identified system and the actual system was estimated based on the disturbance observer. The proposed control algorithm was used for the steering control of a multi-axle crane, where only the steering input and the desired yaw rate were employed, to track the reference path. The controller and performance evaluations were constructed and conducted in the Matlab/Simulink environment. The evaluation results show that the proposed adaptive model-free-control-based steering-control algorithm produces a sound path-tracking performance.

The Roadway caused through Power Train engine vibration and bad ride comfort. It is very important to analyze the vibratory characteristics. The mathematical models on the Power Train, which is composed of engine-/transmission block, universal joint shaft, differential, rear axle arm and wheels, are developed and is verified by the experiments. This Paper describes the coupling influence occurred through a complete drive system for the power train. Dies study is carried out computationally with a calculation program and experimentally with the aid of the mode analysis.
In this study, the leveling control system for a tractor has been developed. The experimental model showed that the implementation of the proposed hydraulic control system fur the prototype design of a slope land tractor was feasible. The front axle was designed as a center pin type and the rear axle was designed as a trailing arm type. The leveling control of the body on the slope land was accomplished by controlling the height of the right and left trailing arms using the electronic controlled hydraulic cylinder. The maximum leveling control angles were ${\pm}$15$^{\circ}$ for roll angle and 7$^{\circ}$far pitch angle. The front and rear wheel drives were transmitted by gears from the main shaft to the final drive. The adaptability of the hydraulic control system was tested and investigated by analyzing the system response in time and frequency domain. The hydraulic control system on a step input showed a linearly increasing trend without any overshoot state. The hydraulic control system on a frequency input showed a little phase differences and gain drops within the range of 0.3Hz.
The torsion beam type of rear suspension has been adopted by most manufactures of small to medium front wheel drive passenger cars. Previous studies analyzed only the load characteristics of CTBA(the coupled torsion beam axle)'s components. This paper analyzed the results of measurement after measuring loads and displacements, angles when a car equipped with the coupled torsion beam axle is driving in various roads. The most important durability factors for CTBA part are the force and direction of rear CTBA trailing arm. If there are design changes, it was difficult to make a sensor and install each time for measuring the trailing arm forces. After analyzing the loading histories between body and chassis, we developed the transformation matrix that can be converted to mutual force. This paper also deals with the analysis of the force behavior through the analysis of the influence and correlation between the body and chassis parts of cars.

A transmission designed with P.T.O(Power Take-Off) axle for agricultural work vehicles including multi-purpose vehicles has been developed. It is focused on the 4-wheel drive transmission of synchronous contact type for practical use in fruit tree households which is required for a large-sized agricultural vehicle. Concerning to the specification performed, the load capacity is from 500kg to 1,000kg and the safety should be secured for passengers. In addition, the driving condition should also be secured under bad situations of the topographic slope, swampy land and the rest. In order to carry out above tests, a prototype vehicle through strength analysis of transmission design has been manufactured. Consequently, optimal design conditions on the power transmission with multi-purpose vehicle for various jobs are proposed such as an indication of optimal RPM and torque at a certain work situation. The performance test through the prototype of multi-purpose work vehicle is performed and the related data base is achieved. Finally, it is improved on troubles by the analysis of the results of R&D and provided the solutions on problems occurring to mass production in the future.

A rear axle steering (RAS) system is attached to the rear of medium and large commercial vehicles that transport large cargo. The existing RAS systems are driven by electro-hydraulic actuator (EHA), and most commercialized EHAs consist of electric motors, hydraulic pumps, relief valves, prefill valves and cylinders. The prefill valve required for such EHAs is a type of check valve with extremely low cracking pressure that should not allow RAS to have noise or vibration, and the prefill valve prevents system negative pressure as well as unstable operation. Most papers on this topic rely on experiments to predict valve performance, and theoretically detailed modeling of valves or pipelines is performed, but it is very rare to evaluate hydraulic vibration characteristics by analysing everything from hydraulic pumps to valves comprehensively. In this study, we proposed an experimental circuit that can predict the performance of the prefill valve. The study also analysed the pressure-flow pulsation that is transmitted to the valve through the pipeline, and how the transmitted pressure-flow pulsation affects the valve vibration.

Analysis of load on major parts of the tractor power drive line is critical for efficient and optimum design of a tractor. The purpose of this study was to evaluate severeness of the tractor PTO driving axle during rotary tillage operation. First, S-N (stress vs. number of cycle) curve of a PTO driving gear was obtained through the fatigue life test using a PTO dynamometer. Second, PTO severeness was evaluated during rotary tillage operation. Torque measurement system was constructed with strain-gauge sensors to measure torque of a PTO axle, an I/O interface to acquire the sensor signals, and an embedded system to calculate severeness. The severeness of PTO was analyzed using measured torque data during rotary tillage. In the PTO gear life fatigue test, breakage time and bending stress of the gear were measured by tooth widths and torque change during the fatigue life test. The S-N curve showed a good linear relationship between bending stress and number of cycle (life) with a coefficient of determination of 0.97. For PTO severenss evaluation, rotary tillage operations were conducted at two PTO rotational speeds (level-1, level-2) under different paddy and upland field sites with different soil conditions. Results of averaged relative severeness for PTO level-1 and PTO level-2 were 1.96 and 3.34, respectively, at paddy field sites, and they were 1.36 and 2.51, respectively, at upland field sites. The results showed that the PTO driving axle experienced more severe load during rotary tillage at paddy fields than at upland sites, and relative severeness was greater at the higher PTO rotational speed under all of the soil conditions.
