In this study, a numerical sensitivity analysis was performed to determine the fire suppression time for a large number of water mist nozzles in a large fire compartment. Fire simulations were performed using FDS (Fire dynamics simulator) 6.5.2 under the same condition as the test scenario 5 of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) 1165 test protocol. The sensitivities of input parameters including cell size, extinguishing coefficient (EC), droplets per second (DPS), and peak heat release rate (HRR) of fuel were investigated in terms of the normalized HRR and temperature distribution in the compartment. A new method of determining the fire suppression time using FDS simulation was developed, based on the concept of the cut-off time by cut-off value (COV) of the heat release rate per unit volume (HRRPUV) and the cooling time by the HRR cooling time criteria value (CTCV). In addition, a method was developed to determine the average EC value for the simulation input, using the cooling time and cut-off time.

In this paper, we study empirically the relations between financial constraints and dividend adjustment speed of innovative small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) listed on Kosdaq Market of Korea Exchange. The main results of this study can be summarized as follows. Determinants suggested by the major theories of dividends, namely, residual dividend theory, dividend signaling theory, agency theory, catering theory, and transactions cost theory explain significantly the dividend payout policy of Kosdaq SMEs. Lintner's dividend adjustment model indicates that Kosdaq SMEs have long run target payout ratio, and that Kosdaq SMEs adjust partially the gap between actual and target payout ratio each year. In the core variables of Lintner (1956) dividend adjustment model, past DPS has more effect than current EPS. These results suggest that Kosdaq SMEs maintain stable dividend policy which maintain past DPS level without corporate special reasons. Dividend adjustment speed of innovative Kosdaq SMEs is more fast than that of uninnovative Kosdaq SMEs, and dividend adjustment speed of financial unconstrained innovative Kosdaq SMEs is faster than that of financial constrained innovative Kosdaq SMEs. Futhermore, dividend adjustment speed of innovative Kosdaq SMEs classified by Small and Medium Business Administration is faster than that of unclassified innovative Kosdaq SMEs. The former is linked with financial policies and services like credit guaranteed service, venture investment fund, insurance program, and so on. In conclusion, past DPS and current EPS suggested by the Lintner's dividend adjustment model explain mainly dividend adjustment speed, and financial constraints explain also partially. Therefore, if managers of innovative Kosdaq SMEs can properly understand of the effects of financial constraints on dividend smoothing, they can maintain constantly dividend policy. This is encouraging result for Korea government as it has implemented many policies to commit to innovative Kosdaq SMEs.
Some formulae have been derived for the handy calculation of the formation of radioisotope when a reactor is operated regularly on a usual on-off pattern. In particular, the case of isotope production with the present operation condition of tile Korean reactor, which is in operation for 8.2 hours from Monday to Thursday and is not operated on friday and Sunday but is back in operation on Saturday only for 3.2 hours, is discussed herein with special emphasis. Should there be no secondary nuclear reaction resulting in the transformation of produced nuclide, the formula for the calculation of its activity could be derived as follows: (equation omitted) where A: activity (dps), $\Phi$: neutron flux (n cm$^{-2}$ sec$^{-1}$ ), No : number of atoms before the irradiation, $\sigma$ : activation cross section ($\textrm{cm}^2$), λ : disintegration constant of the radioactiveisotope formed (hr$^{-1}$ ), t : elapsed time of target in the reactor (hr), n : number of elasped days of target in the reactor, m : number of days from the first day of sample irradiation to Friday, s, r, q: number of weekday of Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Since the above formula consists of many invariables on the whole, the activity of each radioisotope to be produced can he easily and conveniently made available from the chart in advance which is made of the invariable terms calculated.

BACKGROUND: Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) ranks as the 6th most planted crop in the world behind wheat, rice, maize, soybean, and barley. The objective of this study was to identify bio-marker among sorghum cultivars using proteomics approach such as two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (2-DE) coupled with mass spectrometry (MS). METHODS AND RESULTS: Proteins were extracted from sorghum seed, and separated by 2-DE. Total 652 spots were detected from 4 different sorghum seed after staining of 2-DE with colloidal Coomassie brilliant blue (CBB). Among them, 8 spots were differentially expressed and were identified using MALDI-TOF/TOF mass spectrometry. They were involved in RNA metabolism (spot1, spot 4), heat shock proteins (HSPs, spot 2), storage proteins (spot 3, spot 5, and spot 6), and redox related proteins (spot 8). Eight of these proteins were highly up-regulated in Whinchalsusu (WCS). The HSPs, Cupin family protein, and Globulin were specifically accumulated in WCS. The DEAD-box helicase was expressed in 3 cultivars except for WCS. Ribonuclease T2 and aldo-keto reductase were only expressed in 3 cultivars except for Daepung-susu (DPS). CONCLUSION(S): Functions of identified proteins were mainly involved in RNA metabolism, heat shock protein (HSP), and redox related protein. Thus, they may provide new insight into a better understanding of the charactreization between the cultivars of sorghum.
The class of Dynamic Positioning System is divided in 3 classes depending on its redundancy and reliability according to IMO and classification society. There are 3 DP classes such as DP Class 1, 2 and 3 according to IMO MSC/Circ. 645. Higher DP class vessel has higher reliability, since redundancy concept is applied to the DP vessel depending on its DP class and can operate more safely. There are not enough information about DP class notation, which are needed when a company builds a new or buys second hand DP vessel or modifies DP classes, even the Korean shipyard is building a lot of DP vessels now. Also, the practical case of DP vessel modification, which had been done in Korea, to meet DP notation of IMO and classification society, will be helpful for DP vessel modification and sales industry development in Korea as a new business. As such this research identified what kind of requirements need to be taken into account to be from DP class 1 to DP class 2. The real DP class modification case is used to identify the requirements of DP class upgrade. Through the FMEA the redundancy concept on power system, thruster system and DP control system need to apply for DP class upgrade. The power system have to keep its DP function even if just a single fault happens on the generator or switchboard. Also, the PMS is required to monitor and control power system. Ship's Surge, Sway and Yaw movements can be controlled by the remaining thruster system after a single thruster fails. Lastly, multiple installation of PRS, sensors and DP control system are required to keep DP ability after a single fault on the DP control systems.

In this paper, we designed 1 chip IC for 3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis accelerometer used for various IoT/M2M mobile devices such as smartphone, wearable device and etc. We especially focused on analysis of gyroscope noise and proposed new architecture for removing various noise generated by gyroscope MEMS and IC. Gyroscope, accelerometer and geo-magnetic sensors are usually used to detect user motion or to estimate moving distance, direction and relative position. It is very important element to designing a low noise IC because very small amount of noise may be accumulated and affect the estimated position or direction. We made a mathematical model of a gyroscope sensor, analyzed the frequency characteristics of MEMS and circuit, designed a low noise, compact and low power 1 chip 6-axis inertial sensor IC including 3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis accelerometer. As a result, designed IC has 0.01dps/${\sqrt{Hz}}$ of gyroscope sensor noise density.
In WATM networks, in order to perform dynamic slot allocation required slots of mobile terminals are estimated based on DP (Dynamic Parameter) reflecting characteristics of traffic. In VBR (Variable Bit Rate) traffic, slot allocation is done at MT considering both time-dependent characteristics and QoS (Quality of Service) requirements. In this paper, DPs-buffer state information and buffer state change-are transmitted through in-band signaling. BS (Base Station) performs dynamic slot allocation considering traffic characteristics of each MT (Mobile Terminal), in other words, buffer state information informs the potentiality of 'buffer full state'to BS if MT buffer is over the specific threshold value and buffer state change notifies change in buffer state of incoming cells to MT. If buffer state information is equal to 'low (more than threshold)' and 'abrupt increase' it generates 'buffer full' state cell transmission delay or cell loss might occur. At this time BS should assign additional slots to MT, and then MT consumes cells in its buffer. In simulation, the proposed scheme shows better performance in cell delay and loss than EPSA (Estimation-Prorated Slot Assignment) in-band scheme.

Betta rubra, classified as endangered fish species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), has been successfully bred and raised in captivity for two generations under laboratory conditions. This study aimed to provide comprehensive information on the captive breeding of B. rubra, focusing on various parameters crucial for ex-situ conservation and domestication. The research involved breeding trials, embryo and larvae observation, first feeding experiments, larva and fry rearing trials, and the evaluation of growth and reproduction in two generations. The study revealed that the female B. rubra, with an average total length of 5.17 ± 0.15 cm and weight of 1.61 ± 0.06 g, produced an average of 73.67 ± 7.09 eggs, 34.33 ± 5.13 total larvae, and exhibited a hatching rate of 46.67 ± 5.77%. The embryogenesis process commenced on the day of spawning (dps) and continued until the eggs hatched at 6 dps. Larvae development and yolk absorption occurred from 0 to 6 days post-hatching (dph). The study also examined the impact of different initial feeding options, with chopped Tubifex resulting in the most significant in- crease (p < 0.05) in length. The growth pattern of B. rubra larvae showed slow initial growth during the first seven days, followed by a rapid exponential growth phase from day 8 to day 39. Two generations of B. rubra (G1 and G2) were successfully bred in captivity, with G2 showing a better tendency for growth in length and weight compared to G1. Notably, there were no significant differences (p > 0.05) in reproductive success between the wild-origin broodstock (G0), G1, or G2. This research contributes valuable insights into the captive breeding of B. rubra and its early life stages, offering critical information for the conservation and sustainable management of this endangered species. Further research is needed to explore the long-term effects of domestication on behavior, physiology, and phenotypic diversity.

The automobile seat must satisfy various safety regulations for the passenger's safety. In many design practices, each component is independently designed by concentrating on a single related regulation. However, since multiple regulations can be involved in a seat component, there may be design confliction among the various safety regulations. Therefore, a new design methodology is required to effectively design an automobile seat. The axiomatic approach is employed for considering multiple regulations. The Independence Axiom is used to define the overall flow of the seat design. Functional requirements (FRs) are defined by safety regulations and components of the seat are classified into groups which yield design Parameters (DPs). The classification is carried out to have independence in the FR-DP relationship. Components in a DP group are determined by using orthogonal away of the design of experiments (DOE). Numerical analyses are utilized to evaluate the safety levels by using a commercial software system for nonlinear transient finite element analysis.
