수종의 dowel pin systems을 이용한 가철성 다이의 위치 안정성에 관한 비교 연구 (COMPARATIVE STUDY ON THE POSITIONAL STABILITY OF REMOVABLE DIES USING SEVERAL DOWEL PIN SYSTEMS)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the positional stability of removable dies using several dowel pin systems. The removable dies were made by using five dowel pin systems: single dowel pin(Group I), single dowel pin and prepared groove on the die base(Group II), two-single dowel pin(Group III), two separate parallel dowel pins with plastic sleeves(Group IV), double straight dowel pins with metal sleeve(Group V). Special aluminum mold was made for specimens, and the dies of specimens removed and replaced thirty times with universal testing machine. Horizontal and vertical shift of dies was measured by Olympus monocular scanning tunneling microscope(STM5). The results were as follows: 1. The vertical shift was larger than the horizontal shift in all the other groups except Group I. 2. Single dowel pin system(Group I) was the most unstable of five dowel pin systems. 3. Double dowel pin systems with steeve(group IV, V) were the most stable of five dowel pin systems. 4. This study indicates that excellent horizontal positional stability is attainable with use of additional groove on the die base or double dowel pin. and excellent vertical positional stability is attainable with use of sleeve.

콘크리트 포장용 고내구성 대체 다웰바의 실내공용성 평가 (Laboratory Performance Evaluation of Alternative Dowel Bar for Jointed Concrete Pavements)

  • PURPOSES: The problem under this circumstance is that the erosion not only drops strength of the steel dowel bar but also comes with volume expansion of the steel dowel bar which can reduce load transferring efficiency of the steel dowel bar. To avoid this erosion problem, alternative dowers bars are developed. METHODS: In this study, the bearing stresses between the FRP tube dowel bar and concrete slab are calculated and compared with its allowable bearing stress to check its structural stability in the concrete pavement. These comparisons are conducted with several cross-sections of FRP tube dowel bars. Comprehensive laboratory tests including the shear load-deflection test on a full-scale specimen and the full-scale accelerated joint concrete pavement test are conducted and the results were compared with those from the steel dowel bar. RESULTS: In all cross-sections of FRP tube dowel bars, computed bearing stresses between the FRP tube dowel bar and concrete slab are less than their allowable stress levels. The pultrusion FRP-tube dowel bar show better performance on direct shear tests on full-scale specimen and static compression tests at full-scale concrete pavement joints than prepreg and filament-winding FRP-tube dowel bar. CONCLUSIONS: The FRP tube dowel bars as alternative dowel bar are invulnerable to erosion that may be caused by moisture from masonry joint or bottom of the pavement system. Also, the pultrusion FRP-tube dowel bar performed very well on the laboratory evaluation.

국내산 파티클보드에 대한 나무못의 직경과 천공여척이 나무못 유지력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Diameter and Prehole Clearance for Wooden Dowel on the Withdrawal Loads of Domestic Particleboard)

  • Wooden dowels are commonly used to join the particleboard members together in many types of structures, But little information is available concerning their holding properties in domestic particleboard. This study was performed to determine the withdrawal loads and strengths on the effect of diameter of dowel and hole clearance. The test block was manufactured from 15 mm thick domestic particleboard. The dowel was manufactured 6, 8 and 10 mm diameters from korean castanea, korean pine and tuliptree. Research reported here indicates that withdrawal loads increase, but withdrawal strengths decrease, as the dowel diameter increases. This study also indicates that dowel withholding load and strength for particleboard less decrease than those for domestic wood as a hole clearance decreases.

Modelling dowel action of discrete reinforcing bars for finite element analysis of concrete structures

  • In the finite element analysis of reinforced concrete structures, discrete representation of the steel reinforcing bars is considered advantageous over smeared representation because of the more realistic modelling of their bond-slip behaviour. However, there is up to now limited research on how to simulate the dowel action of discrete reinforcing bars, which is an important component of shear transfer in cracked concrete structures. Herein, a numerical model for the dowel action of discrete reinforcing bars is developed. It features derivation of the dowel stiffness based on the beam-on-elastic-foundation theory and direct assemblage of the dowel stiffness matrix into the stiffness matrices of adjoining concrete elements. The dowel action model is incorporated in a nonlinear finite element program based on secant stiffness formulation and application to deep beams tested by others demonstrates that the incorporation of dowel action can improve the accuracy of the finite element analysis.

시공방법에 따른 다웰바 시공상태 분석 (Analysis of Dowel Bar Placement Accuracy with Construction Methods)

  • 줄눈 콘크리트 포장에서 다웰바는 하중을 전달해주는 역할과 단차를 감소시켜줌으로써 궁극적으로 포장의 공용성을 높여주는 역할을 수행한다. 그러나 다엘바의 시공상태가 불량할 경우에는 오히려 줄눈잠김 등을 유발하여 스폴링이나 균열을 초래하여 공용성을 떨어뜨릴 수 있다. 다웰바의 시공방법은 다웰바 어셈블리 시공방법과 다웰바자동삽입기를 이용한 시공방법이 있는데 국내에서는 어셈블리를 이용한 시공방법만이 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 비파괴 조사장비인 MIT-SCAN2를 이용하여 한국도로공사 시험도로에 시공된 다웰바자동삽입 시공구간과 다웰바 어셈블리 시공구간에 대한 다웰바 시공상태 및 Joint Score와 Running Ave. Joint Score를 산출하여 비교 분석해 보았다. 그 결과, 다웰바자동삽입 시공방법이 다웰바 어셈블리 시공방법에 비해 깊이변화, 수평/수직엇갈림에서 매우 우수한 시공상태를 보이는 것으로 나타났으며 줄눈잠김의 위험 또한 다웰바 어셈블리 시공방법에 비해 매우 낮다는 점을 발견했다. 또한 국내 다웰바 어셈블리 시공방법의 문제점을 다웰바 어셈블리의 생산, 보관, 시공 측면에서 분석하였다. 문제점 분석을 토대로 다웰바의 체어형태, 고정방법을 개선하여 시험시공을 수행한 결과, 모든 시공상태 항목이 개선되었음을 알 수 있었으며, 특히 수평/수직엇갈림이 크게 개선되어 줄눈잠김에 대한 위험성이 줄어듦을 알 수 있었다.

가철성 다이를 가진 작업모형에서 다우엘 핀의 종류에 따른 정확도에 관한 연구 (THE ACCURACY ACCORDING TO THE VARIOUS DOWEL PINS OF WORKING CAST WITH REMOVABLE DIES)

  • In this study, 4 types of dowel pin were used to fabricate removable dies using the Pindex system. The comparison of interabutment distances between before and after sawing were conducted in each type of dowel pin, and the horizontal discrepancies in the interabutment distance according to the abutment location and the type of dowel pin were comparatively analyzed. Abutments LM(left molar), LP(left premolar), A(anterior), RP(right premolar), and RM (right molar) were used for measurement. The interabutment distances were measured between each abutment : LM-LP, LM-A, LM-RP, and LM-RM. The slide scanned image of each model was magnified on the computer screen and the measurements were conducted using the meeting point of the cross on the occlusal surface of each abutment. The results were as follows : 1. In the comparison of interabutment distances between before and after sawing in each type of dowel pin, there was no significant difference in World dowel pin(double), Bi-pin(double), Maxcel dowel pin(single). In the World dowel pin(single) there was no significant difference between LM-LPs, but in the other measurements (LM-As, LM-RPs, and LM-RMs) there was significant difference between before and after sawing(p<0.05). 2. In comparison of horizontal discrepancies of the measurement according to the abutment location, there was significant difference between measurement LM-LP($0.27{\pm}0.19mm$) and the others : LM-A($0.46{\pm}0.20mm$), LM-RP($0.38{\pm}0.25mm$), LM-RM($0.45{\pm}0.22mm$) (p<0.05). 3. In comparison of horizontal discrepancies of the measurement according to the type of dowel, there was no significant difference between each dowel. As a result when fabricating a removable die using the previously mentioned 4 types of dowel pins, it is thought that the horizontal discrepancy increased in proportion to the interabutment span length and does not depend on the type of dowel pin.

장부철근의 전단저항에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Shear Resistance of Dowel Bars)

  • 이 연구는 철근콘트리트 부재에서 철근의 장부작용에 대한 구조 변수들의 영향을 고찰하기 위한 실험적 연구로서 이전의 연구에 이어서 2개의 철근을 매입한 42개의 시험체를 콘크리트의 피복두께, 철근지름 및 철근간격을 주요 변수로 하여 실험하였다. 실험결과로부터 모든 시험체는 피복두께의 증가에 따라 파괴하중에 이르기까지 거의 선형적으로 거동하였고, 철근지름과 철근간격의 증가에 따른 장부력은 거의 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 조사되었으며, 실험값은 제안된 회귀분석값과 White의 제안식값에 비교적 근접하였다.

다우얼 바의 저진동 슬래브 궤도 시스템 적용 가능성 (Application possibility of dowel bar in low floating slab system)

  • 본 연구의 선행기술조사결과 플로팅궤도 슬래브에는 dowel bar 등의 별도의 슬래브 연결부 보강이 없었다. 본 연구모델에 비해 선행기술조사 대상 슬래브의 연장이 매우 짧으며, 긴지간의 슬래브에 연결부에 대한 보강이 없다면 단부에서의 단차에 의해 슬래브의 파괴가 예상된다. 따라서 dowel bar 등의 추가적인 보강이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 dowel bar의 일반적인 특성과 국내외 dowel bar에 대한 선행기술에 대하여 조사함으로써, 추후 수행될 해석연구의 자료를 확보하고자 하여 그 적용가능성을 검토하고자 하였다.

Evaluation of Dowel Bearing Strength of Structural Composite Lumber(SCL) on the Effect of Moisture Content

  • This study investigated the effect of moisture content and loading direction on dowel bearing strength of two types of SCL. Dowel bearing tests of LVL and PSL were conducted with two different MC level, 7.5% and 19%, and two different oriention, L-direction(loading parallel to grain) and X-direction(loading perpendicular to grain). Most of specimens showed typical load-deformation curves and intersected 5% offset line. Failure modes were classified into two categories; spliting(for L-direction specimens) and peeling(for X-direction specimens). Dowel bearing strength generally decreased with increasing MC. The decreasing rate was more significant in X-directon. ESG also decreased with increasing MC, and the ratio of ESG of 7.5% versus 19% was about 1.47. Dowel bearing strength of LVL and PSL in L-direction was higher than that of X-direction. This results indicated that MC and loading orientation had a significant effect on dowel bearing strength of SCL. The average dowel bearing strength of LVL were higher than that of PSL in each loading direction. Two types of probability distribution model were chosen to quantify strength distribution, normal and 2-parameter weibull distribution. The two models showed good agreement with the data, especially in lower tail of the cumulative distribution. Normal and 2-parameter weibull distribution seemed to proper model of the dowel bearing strength for each MC levels.

나무못 유지력에 나무못의 건조가 미치는 영향 (The Withdrawal Loads on The Effect of Dried Wooden Dowel)

  • 본 연구는 건조된 나무못이 유지력 특성에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보기 위해 실시했다. 실험블록은 두께가 15 mm인 소나무와 잣나무 목재 및 파티클보드로 제작했다. 직경이 6, 8 및 10 mm인 나무못은 밤나무, 잣나무 및 백합나무 목재로 각각 제작한 다음 전건시켜 사용했다. 연구결과 나무못 직경이 증가하면 유지력은 증가했지만, 유지력 강도는 감소했다. 건조된 나무못의 유지력은 일반적인 조건의 나무못의 유지력보다 잣나무목재 실험블록에 직경이 10 mm인 백합나무 목재로 만든 나무못을 제외하고 10% 이상 증가를 보였다. 유지력 강도는 모든 수종의 나무못 직경과 실험블록에서 10% 이상 증가를 보였다. 파티클보드 실험블록에 건조된 나무못의 유지력과 유지력 강도는 각각 6~14.2%와 6.2%~18.2% 증가를 보였다.
