정수압 저어널 베어링의 동특성 향상에 관한 연구

  • The dynamic characteristics of externally pressurized journal bearing have been studied theoretically. The Reynolds' equation has been solved by FDM, and the dynamic coefficients have been calculated by using perturbation method. The bearing is compensated by orifice or double-pad diaphragm control valve. The effects of diaphragm initial gap and stiffness are considered. As the results of analysis, it is shown that a control valve has better performance than orifice.

A Study on the Energy Load of the Curtain Wall Buildings according to the Application of the Double-skin Facade System (커튼월 건축물의 이중외피 시스템 적용에 따른 에너지 부하량 검토)

  • In this study, we researched the energy load according to the change of the inner window area ratio, the distance of the air gap and the azimuth of the curtain wall building, which installed the multistory double-skin facade(DSF). and we compared the results with the no double-skin facade situation as follows. With the DSF, it is better than other case, when the window area ratio is 40% and the air gap is 1.2m on the west, south-45-west, south-45-east and east. And it's best when the window area ratio is 40% and the air gap is 0.4m on the south. And on the east or south-45-east, the window area ratio is 40% and the air gap is 1.2m is better than other case with the DSF. On south, it is best when the window area ratio is 100% without DSF. On the south-45-west or west, it is best when the window area ratio is 40% without the DSF.

  • As the need of electric motor is increased rapidly throughout our society, the various application fields are created and the service market called robot gets expanded as well as the existing industrial market. Out of those, the joint systems such as humanoid that is servo actuator for position control or all fields which require multi-degree of freedom (multi-DOF) require the development of innovative actuator. It is multi-DOF spherical motor that can replace the existing system in multi-DOF operating system. But, multi-DOF spherical motor that has been researched up to date is at the stage which is insufficient in performance or mechanical practicality yet. Thus, first of all the research results and limitation of the previously-researched guide frame-type spherical motors were analyzed and then the feature of double air-gap spherical motor which was devised to complement that was studied. The double air-gap multi-DOF spherical motor is very suitable spherical motor for system applying which requires the multi-DOF operation due to its simple structure that does not require other guide frame as well as performance improvement due to its special shape which has two air-gaps. So, the validity of the study was verified by designing and producing it with 3D-FEM through the exclusive jig for multi-DOF spherical motor.

The Characteristics of the Discharge According to ITO Gap by the CLHS Driving Method in AC PDP (AC PDP에서 CLHS 구동 방법에 의한 ITO Gap에 따른 방전 특성)

  • In order to reduce the power consumption in international standard IEC62087, the luminance efficiency should be improved at the low discharge load rather than at the high discharge load. Thus, this paper analysed the characteristics of the discharge at the panels with ITO Gap of $65{\mu}m$, $80{\mu}m$, and $100{\mu}m$ in 50-inch PDP with FHD resolution. It was well known that the long gap panel improves the luminance and the luminous efficiency. However, it is very difficult to drive the panel due to high driving voltage. When the normal driving method was applied at the panel with ITO gap of $100{\mu}m$, the phenomenon of the double peak was generated in the sustain period. We confirmed that main factor of the double peak is the self-erasing discharge. When the CLHS driving method was applied at the panel with ITO gap of $100{\mu}m$, the self-erasing discharge was improved in the sustain period. Also, the $V_S$ and $V_A$ minimum voltage of the CLHS driving method decreased about 9V and 12V compared with those of the normal driving method. Moreover, when the CLHS driving method was applied to the panel with ITO gap of $100{\mu}m$, the luminance and the luminous efficiency increased compared with those of the normal driving method. The luminance and the luminous efficiency greatly increased at the low discharge load. The less discharge load, the higher increase rate of the luminance and the luminous efficiency. Especially, the luminous efficiency at ITO gap of $100{\mu}m$ increased about 26.3% at the discharge load of 4% compared with that at ITO gap of $65{\mu}m$.

  • Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on the double wide band gap emissive layers in the range of 380 nm to 440 nm are reported. An efficient electroluminescence with a maximum at 400nm was observed at room temperature under a forward bias about 10V. With the wide band gap organic materials for near-ultraviolet emission, the low operating voltage (5V) and high current efficiency (3 cd/A) have been obtained at $2mA/cm^2$

  • This is traffic noise reducing technology with higher porosity and durability by using small aggregate in upper layer and big aggregate in lower layer utilizing RSBS modifier. We can reduce average 9dB(A) of traffic noise compare to normal pavement by double layer structure with higher durability using small gap over bigger gap. Also, it increases a porosity more than 22% with more durability by RSBS modifier.

A coupled vibration model of double-rod in cross flow for grid-to-rod fretting wear analysis

  • In Pressurized Water Reactors, most of the failed fuel rods are often observed at the periphery of the fuel assembly, especially near the core baffle. The rod vibration-induced fretting wear is a significant failure mechanism strongly correlated with the coolant and support conditions. This paper presents a coupled vibration model of double-rod to predict the grid-to-rod fretting (GTRF) wear. A motion-dependent fluid force model is used to simulate the coolant cross flow, the gap constraints with asymmetric stiffness between spring and dimple on the vibration form, and the fretting wear are discussed. The results show the effect of the coupled vibration on the deterioration of wear, providing a sound theoretical explanation of some failure phenomena observed in the previous experiment. Exploratively, we analyze the impact of the baffle jet on the GTRF wear, which indicates that the high-velocity cross-flow will significantly affect the vibration forms while sharply changing the wear behavior.

  • This paper is to study on the phenomena that the compound dielectric strength through double layers of air-insulating oil dielectrics is much lower than that of air dielectrics only. the change of the dielectric strength by the variance of air gap depends on the characteristics of air gap discharge and, in case of commercial voltage, the degree of dependance is greeter than in case of direct current voltage.

  • Double layered tube is assembled with an inner tube and an outer tube, similar in material or not, contacting closely and deforming simultaneously when subjected to external force. For the manufacturing of double layered tube, the hydroforming assembly technology has several advantages. Therefore in this study, hydroforming characteristics of double layered tube was investigated. The free bulge test was performed to produce formability diagrams of double layered tubes at various forming pressure and feeding amounts. The hexagonal shape hydroforming test was also performed to estimate the dimensional accuracies of double layered tube through the corner filling ratio and the gap between inner and outer tube. Besides experimental analyses, the analytical model that can predict internal pressure for the hydroforming of double-layered tube was proposed and experimentally validated.

  • An air gap between the pancake windings was provided in this paper to increase the central magnetic field of a high temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet consisting of pancake windings. Unlike the LTS magnet, providing an air gap between the pancake windings increases the central magnetic field of a HTS magnet. Furthermore, the uniformity of the magnetic field near the center of the magnet increased because the pancake windings spread out in wider area. Effects of the air gap on the central magnetic field of an HTS magnet was described in this paper, Calculation of the critical current was carried out by using E-J relation of the HTS wire and the optimization technique was adopted to obtain the appropriate critical current which could maximize the central magnetic field. Pancake windings with BSCCO-2223 HTS wire were wound on glass epoxy bobbin. 6 double pancake windings with 200 turns were used to construct a HTS magnet. Characteristics of the HTS magnet including the central magnetic field and the uniformity of the magnetic field were measured and compared with the results of calculation.
