프리스트레스된 압연강재보(H-BEAM)의 휨 거동에 대한 실험적 연구 (A Experimental Study on Bending Behaviors of Prestressed Hot-rolled H-Beam)

  • 본 연구는 H형 압연강재보에 강종이 다른 강재보 또는 강판을 부착하여 프리스트레스를 도입한 강재보의 휨 거동에 대한 실물실험결과를 비교 분석하였다. 또한 이론적인 해석과의 비교를 통하여 구조적인 성능을 검증하였다. 두 개의 부재를 결합하여 합성부재로 만드는데 있어서 결합시 부재간 서로 이완된 느슨한 상태에서 결합이 되기 때문에 하중이 증가함에 따라 부재간에 하중의 재분배가 일어나 그 구조적인 성능을 제대로 발휘하지 못한다. 따라서 두 부재를 합성시킬 때에는 프리스트레스를 가하여 접합해야 한다. 실험결과로부터 강재보에 추가로 강재보 또는 강판을 붙여 프리스트레스가 도입된 강재보는 강성증가와 프리스트레스에 의한 내하력 증가효과가 뚜렷함을 알 수 있었다.

400W, 7.9~8.4GHz 이중슬롯 결합공진기 진행파관 증폭기 특성 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of a 400W, 7.9~8.4GHz Double-Slot Coupled-Cavity Traveling-Wave Tube)

  • This thesis focuses on the study of high-power, coupled-cavity traveling-wave tube(CCTWT) for radar applications. The CCTWT employed a reentrant double-slot staggered RF cavity structure. Computational analysis of the X-band, double-slot staggered structures is carried out through the use of HFSS code, which solves Maxwell's equations fully in three-dimensions. The non-linear, large-signal performance of CCTWTs are predicted from numerical simulations using a three-dimensional particle-in-cell code, MAGIC3D. With beam voltage set to 12.7~13kV and beam current at 300mA, the CCTWT produces a saturated radiation power of 350~430W, corresponding to an electronic efficiency of 8.9~11.2% and a gain of 23.7~24.2dB within a frequency range of 7.9~8.4GHz.

다중경로 환경에서 다중빔 탐색레이더에 적용 가능한 표적 고각오차 혼성 보정 기법 (Hybrid Compensation Technique on Low Elevation Angle Errors for Multibeam Surveillance Radar in Multipath Environment)

  • The multibeam surveillance radar is a state-of-art of 3D radar technology. It applies the stacked beams realized by a digital beamformer. In this paper, a hybrid compensation technique on elevation angle errors for low elevation angle targets over the sea in multipath radar environments is proposed. The proposed method can be applied to stacked beam radars. Double null algorithm based on maximum likelihood method in 3-D beamspace domain works well unless the phase difference between the two rays(direct and specular path) is close to $0^{\circ}$ and the magnitude of reflection coefficient is close to 0. To overcome these problems, we propose a hybrid compensation technique which uses the selective double null algorithm and the beam-ratio compensation technique for low-elevation errors on a log scale. Results of computer simulation show that the proposed method outperform conventional monopulse method and double null algorithm only under various multipath environments.

Nonlocal effects on thermal buckling properties of double-walled carbon nanotubes

  • The thermal buckling properties of double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWCNTs) are studied using nonlocal Timoshenko beam model, including the effects of transverse shear deformation and rotary inertia. The DWCNTs are considered as two nanotube shells coupled through the van der Waals interaction between them. The geometric nonlinearity is taken into account, which arises from the mid-plane stretching. Considering the small-scale effects, the governing equilibrium equations are derived and the critical buckling temperatures under uniform temperature rise are obtained. The results show that the critical buckling temperature can be overestimated by the local beam model if the nonlocal effect is overlooked for long nanotubes. In addition, the effect of shear deformation and rotary inertia on the buckling temperature is more obvious for the higher-order modes. The investigation of the thermal buckling properties of DWCNTs may be used as a useful reference for the application and the design of nanostructures in which DWCNTs act as basic elements.

  • Various laser systems have been widely used in almost all industrial technologies because they have high energy density, directivity and coherence. Recently the clinical application is becoming wider in medical parts such as incurable disease, diagnosis and so on. Generally, ruby laser beam has the greatest efficacy for removing tattoos, freckle and other skin problem. But current medical ruby laser system has the maximum repetition rate of 2Hz and optical output beam energy of 1J. Many medical doctors really want to have a high repetition ruby laser system because that can reduce the operation time. We investigated a new ruby laser system with high repetition rate of 4Hz using double cavities. Furthermore, we develop a new power supply system adopting zero voltage switching(ZVS) to minimize switching loss by LLC resonant converter designed as 2kW class.

DETECTION OF INTERFACIAL CRACK LENGTH BY USING ULTRASONIC ATTENUATION COEFFICIENTS ON ADHESIVELY BONDED JOINTS

  • In this paper, an interfacial crack length has been detected by using the ultrasonic attenuation coefficient on the adhesively bonded double-cantilever beam (DCB) joints. The correlations between energy release rates which were investigated by experimental measurement, the boundary element method (BEM) and Ripling's equation are compared with each other. The experimental results show that the interfacial crack length for the ultrasonic attenuation coefficient and energy release rate increases proportionally. From the experimental results, we propose a method to detect the interfacial crack length by using the ultrasonic attenuation coefficient and discuss it.

  • It has made a special study of bending behavior of F.R.P sandwich beams with bonded 2nd-reinforced plies. Specimens were made of Chopped Mat 300-450, Roving Clothes 570 and the mixture weight ratio of Resin versus hardener was 55:45 for bending tests. it was fabricated by hand lay-up method, hardened for 24 hours in nature, cut specimens according to ASTM standard C393-94 Knowing exact behavior of bonded area's stress and strain depends upon various bonded F.R.P length on which covered lap joint. We also considered shear stress in adhered area and have done computational estimation by ANSYS as well. This study reveals that the length of plies covered lap joint are longer, Failure stresses are remarkably larger.

  • In this study a new analytical model which can describe the relationship between the bridging stress and microstructure has beenproposed in order to investigate the microstructural effect on the R-curve behavior in polycrystalline aluminas since the R-curve can be derived via the bridging stress function. In the currently developed model function the distribution of grain size is considered as a microstructural factor in modeling of bridging stress function and thus the bridging stress function including three constants PM, n, and Cx, can be established analytically and quantitatively. The results indicate that the n value is closely related to the grain size distribution thereby providing a reliability of the current model for the bridging stress analysis. Thus this model which explains the correlation of the bridging stress distribution and microstructual parame-ters is useful for the systematic interpretation of microfracture mechanism including the R-curve behavior in polycrystalline aluminas.

초음파 감쇠계수에 의한 균열길이의 측정 (Measurement of Crack Length by Ultrasonic Attenuation Coefficient)

  • In this paper, the ultrasonic attenuation coefficient was measured by variation of crack length for double-cantilever beam(DCB) specimen. The energy release rate, G, was obtained by the experimental measurement of compliance. The experimental results represents that the relation between crack length for the ultrasonic attenuation coefficient and energy release rate is increased proportionally. From the results of experiments, the measurement method of crack length by the ultrasonic attenuation coefficient was proposed and discussed.

초음파 탐상법을 이용한 접착이음에 대한 계면 균열의 검출 (Detection of Interface Crack Using Ultrasonic Method in Adhesively Bonded Joints)

  • In is well recognized that the ultrasonic method is one of the most common and reliable nondestructive testing(NDT) methods for the quantitative estimation of defects in welded structures. However, NDT techniques applying for adhesively bonded joints have not been clearly established yet. In this paper, the detection of interface crack by the ultrasonic method was applied for the measurement of interface crack length in the adhesively bonded joints of double-cantilever beam(DCB). The optimum condition of transmission coefficients and experimental accuracy by the ultrasonic method in the adhesively bonded joints have been investigated. The experimental values are in good agreement with the computed results by boundary element method(BEM) and Riplings equation.
