Some methods of analysis of rectangular plates under distributed load of various intensity with interior supports are presented herein. Analysis of many structures such as bottom, side shell, and deck plate of ship hull and flat slab, with or without internal supports, Floor systems of bridges, included crthotropic bridges is a problem of plate with elastic supports or continuous edges. When the four edges of rectangular plate is simply supported, the double Fourier series solution developed by Navier can represent an exact result of this problem. If two opposite edges are simply supported, Levy's method is available to give an "exact" solution. When the loading condition and supporting condition of a plate does not fall into these cases, no simple analytic method seems to be feasible. Analysis of a simply supported rectangular plate under irregularly distributed loads of various intensity with internal supports is carried out by applying Navier solution well as the "Principle of Superposition." Finite difference technique is used to solve plates under irregularly distributed loads of various intensity with internal supports and with various boundary conditions. When finite difference technique is applied to the Lagrange's plate bending equation, any of fourth order derivative term in this equation produces at least five pivotal points leading to some troubles when the resulting linear algebraic equations are to be solved. This problem was solved by reducing the order of the derivatives to two: the fourth order partial differential equation with one dependent variable, namely deflection, is changed to an equivalent pair of second order partial differential equations with two dependent variables. Finite difference technique is then applied to transform these equations to a set of simultaneous linear algebraic equations. Principle of Superposition is then applied to handle the problems caused by concentrated loads and interior supports. This method can be used for the cases of plates under irregularly distributed loads of various intensity with arbitrary conditions such as elastic supports, or continuous edges with or without interior supports, and this method can also be solve the influence values of deflection, moment and etc. at arbitrary position of plates under the live load.
Some method of analysis of rectangular plates under distributed load of various intensity with all edges built in are presented in. Analysis of many structures such as bottom, side shell, and deck plate of ship hull, and flat slab, deck systems of bridges is a problem of plate with continuous supports or clamped edges. When the four edges of rectangular plate is simply supported, the double fourier series solution developed by Navier can represent an exact result of this problem. If two opposite edges are simply supported, Levy's method is available to give an "exact" solution. When the loading condition and boundary condition of a plate does not fall into these cases, no simple analytic method seems to be feasible. Analysis of a plate under distributed loads of various intensity with all edges built in is carried out by applying Navier solution and Levy's method as well as "Principle of Superposition" In discussing this problem we start with the solution of the problem for a simply supported rectangular plate and superpose on the deflection of such a plate the deflections of the plate by slopes distributed along the all edges. These slopes we adjust in such a manner as to satisfy the condition of no rotation at the boundary of the clamped plate. This method can be applied for the cases of plates under irregularly distributed loads of various intensity with two opposite edges simply supported and the other two edges clamped and all edges simply supported and this method can also be used to solve the influence values of deflection, moment and etc. at arbitrary position of plates under the live load.

The characterization of the ozone oxidation for raw natural rubber (NR) was investigated under controlled conditions through image and fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) analysis. The ozone oxidation was performed on a transparent thin film of raw NR coated on a KBr window in a dark chamber at $40^{\circ}C$ under low humidity conditions to completely exclude thermal, moisture, or light oxidation. The ozone concentration was set at 40 parts per hundred million (pphm). Before or after exposure to ozone, the image of the thin film for raw NR was observed at a right or tilted angle. FT-IR absorption spectra were measured in the transmission mode according to ozone exposure time. The ozone oxidation of NR was determined by the changes in the absorption peaks at 1736, 1715, 1697, and $833cm^{-1}$, which were assigned to an aldehyde group (-CHO), a ketone group (-COR), an inter-hydrogen bond between carbonyl group (-C=O) from an aldehyde or a ketone and an amide group (-CONH-) of protein, and a cis-methine group ($is-CCH_3=CH-$, respectively. During ozone exposure period, the results indicated that the formation of the carbonyl group of aldehyde or ketone was directly related to the decrement of the double bond of cis-1,4-polyisoprene. Only carbonyl compounds such as aldehydes or ketones seemed to be formed through chain scission by ozone. Long thin cracks with one orientation at regular intervals, which resulted in consecutive chain scission, were observed by image analysis. Therefore, one possible two-step mechanism for the formation of aldehyde and ketone was suggested.
A frequency-domain method is developed for evaluating the earthquake input energy to two building structures connected by viscous dampers. It is shown that the earthquake input energies to respective building structures and viscous connecting dampers can be defined as works done by the boundary forces between the subsystems on their corresponding displacements. It is demonstrated that the proposed energy transfer function is very useful for clear understanding of dependence of energy consumption ratios in respective buildings and connecting viscous dampers on their properties. It can be shown that the area of the energy transfer function for the total system is constant regardless of natural period and damping ratio because the constant Fourier amplitude of the input acceleration, relating directly the area of the energy transfer function to the input energy, indicates the Dirac delta function and only an initial velocity (kinetic energy) is given in this case. Owing to the constant area property of the energy transfer functions, the total input energy to the overall system including both buildings and connecting viscous dampers is approximately constant regardless of the quantity of connecting viscous dampers. This property leads to an advantageous feature that, if the energy consumption in the connecting viscous dampers increases, the input energies to the buildings can be reduced drastically. For the worst case analysis, critical excitation problems with respect to the impulse interval for double impulse (simplification of pulse-type impulsive ground motion) and multiple impulses (simplification of long-duration ground motion) are considered and their solutions are provided.

Plastic pollution has been recognized as a serious environmental problem, and microbial degradation of plastics is a potential, environmentally friendly solution to this. Here, we analyzed and compared microbial communities on waste plastic films (WPFs) buried for long periods at four landfill sites with those in nearby soils to identify microbes with the potential to degrade plastics. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy spectra of these WPFs showed that most were polyethylene and had signs of oxidation, such as carbon-carbon double bonds, carbon-oxygen single bonds, or hydrogen-oxygen single bonds, but the presence of carbonyl groups was rare. The species richness and diversity of the bacterial and fungal communities on the films were generally lower than those in nearby soils. Principal coordinate analysis of the bacterial and fungal communities showed that their overall structures were determined by their geographical locations; however, the microbial communities on the films were generally different from those in the soils. For the pulled data from the four landfill sites, the relative abundances of Bradyrhizobiaceae, Pseudarthrobacter, Myxococcales, Sphingomonas, and Spartobacteria were higher on films than in soils at the bacterial genus level. At the species level, operational taxonomic units classified as Bradyrhizobiaceae and Pseudarthrobacter in bacteria and Mortierella in fungi were enriched on the films. PICRUSt analysis showed that the predicted functions related to amino acid and carbohydrate metabolism and xenobiotic degradation were more abundant on films than in soils. These results suggest that specific microbial groups were enriched on the WPFs and may be involved in plastic degradation.
Trans fat is a unsaturated fatty acid with trans configuration and separated double bonds. Analytical methods have been introduced to analyze trans fat content in foods including infrared (IR) spectroscopy, gas chromatography (GC), Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, reverses-phase silver ion high performance liquid chromatography, and silver nitrate thin layer chromatography. Currently, FT-IR spectroscopy and GC are mostly used methods. Trans fat content in 6 vegetable oils were analyzed and processing effects including baking, stir-frying, pan-frying, and frying on the formation of trans fat in corn oil was evaluated by GC. Among tested vegetable oils, corn oil has 0.25 g trans fat/100 g, whereas other oils including rapeseed, soybean, olive, perilla, and sesame oils did not have detectable amount of trans fat content. Among cooking methods, stir-frying increased trans fat in corn oil whereas baking, pan-frying, and frying procedures did not make changes in trans fat content compared to untreated corn oils. However, the trans fat content was so low and food label can be declared as '0' trans based on the regulation of Ministry of Food ad Drug Safety (MFDS) (< 2 g/100 g edible oil).

$Co_9S_8/reduced$ graphene (CSRG) has been prepared by a facile two step hydrothermal method and used as a supercapacitor electrode material. It is anticipated that the $Co_9S_8$ and reduced graphene oxide (RGO) would serve as a spacer material to each other to stop the agglomeration and simultaneous contribution of electrical double layer capacitance (RGO) and pseudocapacitance ($Co_9S_8$) would provide high electrochemical properties. The chemical analysis has been done by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and the morphology is characterised by field emission scanning electron microscopy. CSRG shows a high electrical conductivity of $98S\;m^{-1}$. The symmetric supercapacitor shows a specific capacitance of ${\sim}728F\;g^{-1}$ with a current density of $2A\;g^{-1}$. CSRG also showed an energy density of $25.2Wh\;kg^{-1}$ with a power density of $1000W\;kg^{-1}$.
Methyl methacrylate(MMA) was grafted onto microcrystalline cellulose(MCC) with ceric ammonium nitrate(CAN) as a redox initiator at the various conditions. The cellulose triacetate(CTA) composite films added MCC and MMA-grafted MCC powders were prepared on a glass plate. The graft yield(GY) and graft efficiency(GE) of the grafted MCC were calculated with the simple equations by the weight balance method. The double bond of C=O on the grafted MCC surfaces was confirmed by the fourier transform infrared spectroscopy with attenuated total reflection(FT-IT ATR) spectrophotometer. After grafting, the degree of crystallinity of cellulose powders was decresed by judging from x-ray diffraction(XRD) data. Scanning electron microscope(SEM) photos showed the only solvent and CAN solution could change the roughness of MCC powders and the effect of powder dispersions in composite matrix. The tensile strength of MCC/CTA composite films was decreased with increase of MCC powder contents. When 5% grafted MCC was added, the tensile strength of grafted MCC/CTA composite films was increased from 82.3 MPa to 97.2 MPa. The thermal property of powders was also analyzed by the thermogravimetric analysis(TGA).
