  • The UML(Unified Modeling Language) Class Diagram which is a part of structure of UML is fit for Object Modeling, and more recently, as the appearance of UXF(UML eXchange Format) UML Class Diagram by itself, can be exchanged in many other different system document. So this paper suggest the conversion system from UML Class Diagram to XML DTD. As this we can easily transformation and saving the UML Class Diagram that is the standard of Modeling Language to XML document which is so reusable. Also it can give a flexible method for the representation to the logical structure of document in various way because of converting XML DTD.

Extracting OWL Ontology from XML instances via XML Schema

  • Currently, XML and its schema language have become the standard for data representation and information exchange format on the current web. Unfortunately, problems happen when integrating different data sources since XML mainly supports the document structure but lack consideration on sharing knowledge of data. Meanwhile, Semantic Web technologies, such as Web Ontology Language (OWL), can include the structure as well as the semantics of the data. Therefore, finding a way to integrate XML data as OWL ontology receives a high interest nowadays. In this paper we present a mapping notation to convert XML Schema to OWL domain knowledge and an effective method to transform XML instances into OWL individuals. While keeping the XML original structure, our work also adds more semantics for the XML document. Moreover, whole of the transformation processes are done automatically without any user interference. Further, our transforming approach provides the solution for duplicate element names in XML document which has not mentioned in the previous work. Our results in existing OWL syntaxes can be loaded immediately by OWL editors and Semantic Web applications.

An Application of MathML and XSLT for Differentiated Instruction-Learning Materials in Mathematics Course (수학교과 수준별 교수-학습 자료에서 MathML과 XSLT의 활용)

  • In this paper, we propose an authoring methodology of differentiated instruction-learning materials in mathematics course using MathML and XSLT, and give utilizing suggestions of these materials as differentiated textbook and individual learning. Incorporating MathML into instruction-learning materials, there are many advantages such that view of the materials in web browser is improved since mathematical expressions are compatible with text, and an expression can be modified in more convenient way since the expression is represented in text format not an image. In authoring of differentiated materials, the author provides one document for various levels of students. Then, each level of materials is generated from the document via XSLT transformation. This enables author-driven progress control rather than student-driven which does in previous approaches, since students don't need to select components of the material.

  • In this paper, we implement the XML modeling and data modeling by the class diagram that is made by the use case after drawing out the sequence diagram. For the XML modeling, the guiding line to map the UML classes on the XML document will be presented. Then, an example to generate the ie DTD from the UML classes will be shown under the presented guiding line. In the data modeling, the transformation method from the In classes into the object-oriented database also will be proposed. Finally, we will give an example developed by the Proposed transformation method.

Transformation of Text Contents of Engineering Documents into an XML Document by using a Technique of Document Structure Extraction (문서구조 추출기법을 이용한 엔지니어링 문서 텍스트 정보의 XML 변환)

  • This paper proposes a method for transforming unstructured text contents of engineering documents, which have complex hierarchical structure of subtitles with various heading symbols, into a semi-structured XML document according to the hierarchical subtitle structure. In order to extract the hierarchical structure from plain text information, this study employed a method of document structure extraction which is an analysis technique of the document structure. In addition, a method for processing enumerative text contents was developed to increase overall accuracy during extraction of the subtitles and construction of a hierarchical subtitle structure. An application module was developed based on the proposed method, and the performance of the module was evaluated with 40 test documents containing structural calculation records of bridges. The first test group of 20 documents related to the superstructure of steel girder bridges as applied in a previous study and they were used to verify the enhanced performance of the proposed method. The test results show that the new module guarantees an increase in accuracy and reliability in comparison with the test results of the previous study. The remaining 20 test documents were used to evaluate the applicability of the method. The final mean value of accuracy exceeded 99%, and the standard deviation was 1.52. The final results demonstrate that the proposed method can be applied to diverse heading symbols in various types of engineering documents to represent the hierarchical subtitle structure in a semi-structured XML document.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 항만물류 EDI가 가진 문제점을 해결하기 위한 방안으로 제시된 XML/EDI 에 대해 살펴보고 항만 물류에 XML/EDI를 적용하기 위해 기존의 EDI 메시지를 XML Schema 로 변환하는 기법을 소개한다. XML 문서의 논리적 구조를 표현하는 방법은 크게 DTD(Document Type Definition) 와 XML Schema 의두 가지 방식이 있으며,k XML Schema 는 기존의 DTD 에 비해 다양한 데이터 타입의 지원, namespace 지원, open-ended 데이터 모델의 지원등 여러 장점이 있기 때문에 항만 EDI 메시지를 XML Schema 로 변환하면 DTD 로 변환하는 것에 비해 높은 표현력과 다양한 부가적인 처리를 지원할 수 있다.

  • This paper presents a hardware for image alignment based on proposed new algorithm which can align a small misaligned document image simply by one transformation with a parallel shifting of pixels. This hardware is simulated with VHDL and estimated to be about 65 ms to align an image made up of 380 by 480 pixels. Also, we will demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed image alignment algorithm in OCR system by comparing its characteristics with those of the existing image rotation algorithms.

  • PDA나 휴대폰 같은 모바일 장치는 데스크 탑 컴퓨터에 비해 상대적으로 작은 스크린을 가진다 웹 문서는 일반적으로 데스크 탑 컴퓨터 스크린을 기준으로 작성되기 때문에 이러한 웹 문서가 모바일 장치에서 표현되기 위해서는 다수의 좌, 우 스크롤을 필요하게 된다. 이는 문서 내용의 독이성을 떨어뜨리며 사용자에게 많은 불편함을 준다. 본 논문에서는 XML로 작성된 웹 문서를 소형 스크린 장치에 적합하도록 변환하는 주석 기반 XML 변환 시스템을 제안한다. XML 변환 시스템은 분할 정보가 기술된 외부 주석을 이용하여 XML 문서를 소형 스크린에 알맞은 다수의 XML 문서로 분할하고, 분할된 XML 문서를 HTML 문서로 변환하는 과정으로 XML 문서 변환을 처리한다.

SPA ViewModel Transformation for RESTful API (RESTful API를 위한 SPA ViewModel 변환)

  • Single-Page Application(SPA) requires data transformation for communication with RESTful API. The Backend for Frontend(BFF) pattern handles this transformation in the server, but there is some problem that increases the number of communication and makes development and distribution difficult. In this study, we propose an architecture that maps the ViewModel of SPA and the model of RESTful API directly in SPA. The proposed architecture automatically generates a mapping model between the RESTful API model and the ViewModel using the OpenAPI specification, which is the document model of the RESTful API. The data transfer component of SPA automatically converts RESTful API data and ViewModel using the created model. As a result of comparison with the existing BFF method through case study, the proposed architecture showed higher development productivity than BFF, and as a result of load tests, it recorded about 6% lower server CPU occupancy compared to BFF.

Performance Improvement by a Virtual Documents Technique in Text Categorization (문서분류에서 가상문서기법을 이용한 성능 향상)

  • This paper proposes a virtual relevant document technique in the teaming phase for text categorization. The method uses a simple transformation of relevant documents, i.e. making virtual documents by combining document pairs in the training set. The virtual document produced by this method has the enriched term vector space, with greater weights for the terms that co-occur in two relevant documents. The experimental results showed a significant improvement over the baseline, which proves the usefulness of the proposed method: 71% improvement on TREC-11 filtering test collection and 11% improvement on Routers-21578 test set for the topics with less than 100 relevant documents in the micro average F1. The result analysis indicates that the addition of virtual relevant documents contributes to the steady improvement of the performance.
