  • Electricity is the prime commodity in mobile device, e.g. smart phone, PDA, MP3 player and etc. This strict restriction on power consumption requirement of the mobile device puts unique demand in designing hardware and software components of the device. In this paper, we address the issue of minimizing the power consumption in retrieving the continuous media data from the disk drive for real-time playback purpose. Different from the legacy text based data, real-time multimedia playback requires that the storage supplies the data block continuous fashion. This may put immense burden on the power scarce environment since the disk Is required to be active for the entire playback duration. We develop elaborate algorithm which carefully analyzes the power consumption profile of the disk drive and which establishes the data retrieval schedule for the given playback. It computes the amount of data blocks to read, the length of active and standby period. According to our simulation result, the ARM algorithm exhibits superior performance in continuous media retrieval from the aspect of power consumption to legacy playback scheme.

  • In real-time power system control, it is essential to measure the power system variables which are voltage. current, real and reactive power, power factor, system frequency and etc. this variables can be estimated or calculated by the synchronized phasor informations of voltage and current. Therefore, the synchronized phasor measurement of voltage and current is very important to real-time power system control. So, we develop SPMD(Synchronized Phasor Measurement Device) for synchronized phasor measurement of voltage and current. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of SPMD for real-time phasor measurement and prove its performance by the test results.

Origin of Nonlinear Device Performance with Illuminated Sun Intensity in Mesoscopic Sb2S3-sensitized Photoelectrochemical Solar Cells using Cobalt Electrolyte

  • The mesoscopic $Sb_2S_3$-sensitized photoelectrochemical solar cells using cobalt redox electrolyte exhibit nonlinear behavior of power conversion efficiency with illuminated sun intensity. From the measurement of bulk diffusion and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy studies, we suggest that the nonlinearity of device performance with illuminated sun intensity is attributed not to the slow bulk diffusion problem of cobalt electrolyte but to the limited mass transport in narrowed pore volume in mesoscopic $TiO_2$ electrode.

  • In this paper, position and speed control algorithm of LSM (Linear Stepping Motor) using general-purpose PCI I/O board is discussed. The main purpose of this paper is to show that LSM controller can be established on the non real time operating system such as Microsoft Win2000 under the assumption that thread priority strategy is well designed. We can guarantee sampling interval less than 5msec based on the Pentium III microprocessor. Therefore this kind of LSM controller development environment makes shorten the prior research period needed to verify the validness of the proposed control strategy. We also introduce the tool of the real-time windows target system of matlab, which also makes shorten the prior research period. The main focus of this paper is on developing general purpose NT device driver which can drive the general purpose PCI board and applying it for implementing the hardware interface for 2- axis linear stepping motor control. From the experimental results show that the developed LSM controller guarantee 2 micrometer resolution in position control with 10cm/sec moving speed

  • 본 논문에서는 특정인(장애인, 재활치료자, 고령자 등)들이 수월하게 컴퓨터를 사용 할 수 있도록 하기 위한 손동작 인식형 보조 입력장치를 설계하였다. 입력장치는 3차원 공간에서 손 동작 인식을 위해 자이로 센서를 사용하였고, 통신 대역은 무선 RF 2.4GHz 대역에서 신호를 송 수신 하도록 하였다. 제작된 보드는 자이로 모듈, RF 통신 모듈, MCU, USB 단자 등으로 구성되었다. 동작인식 실험결과, 마우스 기반의 커서 이동 및 프로그램 제어 등이 설계 규격대로 수행됨을 확인 하였다.

디지털 인쇄에 있어서 컬러의 최적화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimization of color in Digital Printing)

  • In this paper, an experiment was done where the input(scanner, digital still camera) and monitor(CRT, LCD) device used the linear multiple regression and the GOG (Gain-Offset-Gamma) characterization model to perform a color transformation. Also to color conversion method of the digital printer it used the LUT(Look Up Table), 3dimension linear interpolation and a tetrahedron interpolation method. The results are as follows. From color reappearance of digital printing case of monitor, the XYZ which it converts in linear multiple regression of input device it multiplied the inverse matrix, and then it applies the inverse GOG model and after color converting the patch of the result most which showed color difference below 5 at monitor RGB value. Also, The XYZ which is transmitted from the case input device which is a printer it makes at LAB value to convert an extreme, when the LAB value which is converted calculating the CMY with the LUT and tetrahedral interpolations the color conversion which considers the black quantity was more accurate.

국제표준화기구 기준에 의한 의료기기용 하이드로겔의 세포독성 평가 (Cytotoxicity Evaluation on Hydrogels for Medical Devices based on the International Organization for Standardization)

  • Hydrogels for medical devices such as hydrophilic dressing, moisturizing healing band, hydrophilic intravenous catheter and soft contact lens were evaluated for their cytotoxicity according to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) procedures. To test indirect cytotoxicity of hydrogel products, dissolution medium and dissolution condition were selected based on the guideline for medical devices. Cytotoxicity was low in all the case of hydrogel products. Soft contact lens showed no significant difference in dissolution between complete medium and saline. Currently, there is no specific guidelineto test hydrogel for medical devices in Korea with consideration of characteristics of hydrogel. Thus, proper method of cytotoxicity evaluation should be selected depending on the characteristics and usages of hydrogels for medical devices.

  • 최근 스마트 디바이스의 증가에 따라 개인이 휴대하는 장치가 증가하고 있으며, 대부분의 스마트 디바이스에는 블루투스가 기본사양으로 탑재되고 있다. 그러나 블루투스 장치의 연결 제한으로 다중연결을 활용한 서비스 제공은 미흡한 상태이며, 다중연결이 가능하더라도 설정된 장치가 모두 접속되어야 데이터 통신이 가능한 문제점이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위한 방안으로 AT Command를 활용한 TDM(time division multiplexing) 방식의 다중연결 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 다수의 장치가 실시간 접속 및 데이터 전송이 가능하다는 것을 확인하였다.

  • 현재 시장의 구매활동은 소비자가 직접 물건을 보고 구입하거나 인터넷을 통해 물품의 이미지를 보고 구입을 하는 형태이다. 특히 침구류, 가구, 조명 등과 같은 물품들은 실제로 배치할 곳에 놓아 보고 싶은 요구가 있다. 이에 따라 대중화된 스마트기기에서 물품을 미리 배치하고 해당 정보를 볼 수 있도록 함으로써 구매자의 요구를 충족시키고 삶의 질을 향상시킬 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 증강현실을 이용하여 공간배치 애플리케이션을 개발하고 이를 통해 변화하는 스마트사회에서 새로운 구매방식을 제안한다.
