건축자재용 RFID 패키징 설계 (Design of RFID Packaging for Construction Materials)

  • RFID(Radio Frequency Identification)는 버스카드, 출입문 카드, 물류유통, 건축자재 관리 등 일상생활에서 다양하게 사용되는 태그의 일종으로 ID정보를 무선 주파수(RF, Radio Frequency)를 사용하여 인식하는 무선인식장치이다. RFID는 투과성과 인식률, 메모리 크기, 다중태그 인식률, 외부 오염 먼지, 외부 충격 등에 따라 크기와 성능이 달라지고, 이와 같은 요소들을 고려한 RFID 보호를 위한 패키징이 필요하다. 현재 RFID는 건축자재의 효과적인 관리를 위해서도 다양하게 사용되고 있는데, 건축자재에 RFID를 부착하기 위해서는 외부로 부터의 충격에 강건한 건축자재용 RFID 패키징 제작이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 외부 충격에 강하고, 고장 시 RFID의 교체가 가능하도록 패키징 틀과 본체를 분리하여 설계된 건축자재용 RFID 패키징을 제안한다. 제안된 RFID 패키징을 위한 상세한 설계도를 제시하였으며, 3D 프린터를 사용하여 설계된 패키징을 직접 제작하여 성능 평가를 실시하였다.

유통중 랜덤 진동에 의한 포장화물 및 포장된 사과의 진동특성 (Vibration Characteristics of Packaged Freight and Packaged Apples by Random Vibration Input During Distribution)

  • Shock and vibration inputs are transmitted from the transporting vehicle through the packaging to the fruit. The vibration causes sustained bouncing of fruits against each other and the container wall. The steady state vibration input may cause serous fruit injury, and the damage is particularly severe if the fruits are bounced at its resonance frequency. The determination of the resonance frequencies of the fruits and vegetables may help the packaging designer to determine the proper packaging system providing adequate protection for the fruits, and to understand the complex interaction between the components of the fruits when they relate to expected transportation vibration inputs. To analyze the vibration properties of the apples for optimum packaging design during transportation, random vibration tests were carried out. In the random vibration test, the resonance frequency and PSD of the packaged freight of apples in the test were in the range of 82 to 97 Hz and 0.0013 to $0.0021G^2/Hz$ respectively and the resonance frequency and PSD of the packaged apples in the test were in the range of 13 to 71 Hz and 0.0143 to $0.0923G^2/Hz$.

식품용 가스 및 수분 제거 활성포장 사용 및 법정 규정에 대한 현황 (Current Status of Legal Regulations Regarding Gas- and Moisture-removing Active Packaging for Food: A Review)

  • 안전한 식품, 긴 보관 수명과 좋은 품질을 보유한 식품에 대한 소비자의 요구가 증가하고 있으며, 이에 대응하여 활성포장의 상용화와 개발이 증가하고 있다. 본 총설에서는 산소제거제, 수분제거제, 이산화탄소제거제 및 에틸렌제거제의 정의, 사용되고 있는 활성포장의 구조, 활성물질과 구동 메커니즘, 적용 식품 분야와 잠재적 효과 및 활성포장 관리 규정 등에 대하여 조사하였다. 국내 상용화 현황을 보면 활성물질을 다공성 또는 타공 구조를 가진 파우치에 넣은 다음, 식품포장에 적용하는 사쉐형 활성포장이 주로 적용되고 있음을 확인하였다. 이러한 다양한 종류의 활성포장이 식품포장에 널리 사용되고 있음에도 불구하고, 유럽에 비해 국내에서는 소비자의 건강과 식품의 안전에 영향을 줄 수 있는 활성포장과 활성물질에 대한 정의, 관리, 안전성 평가 및 사용 등에 대한 구체적인 관리 규정과 안전성 평가방법에 대한 구축은 미비함을 확인하였다. 식품은 건조식품, 액상식품, 고 수분함유 식품 등 종류가 다양하고 각 식품의 품질에 영향을 미치는 화학적, 물리적, 생물학적 요인 및 보관조건 등도 다양하다. 활성포장에 사용되는 활성물질이 식품으로 전이되면, 식품 성분과 화학적/물리적으로 상호작용하여 품질과 안전에 부정적인 영향을 야기할 가능성이 있다. 따라서, 활성포장의 최적 성능을 구현하기 위해서는 식품 맞춤형으로 설계하는 것이 필요하며 활성포장과 활성물질에 대한 관리 규정 및 안전성 평가방법도 식품 종류와 활성포장의 종류에 따라 세분화하여 정립하는 것 또한 필요하다고 사료된다.

이론적 열유동 해석을 이용한 농산물 저장 및 유통 스마트 유닛로드 컨테이너의 통기공 최적화 설계 (Ventilation Hole Optimum Design of Smart Unit Load Container for Storage and Distribution Agricultural Products by Theoretical Heat Flow Analysis)

  • Air distribution occupies an important position in the smart unit load container design process for agricultural products. Inner air may be uncomfortable because of its temperature, speed, direction, and volume flow rate. It doesn't matter how efficient the ventilation equipment is if the air is not distributed well. The main aim of this study was to design the inlet and outlet fan locations of smart unit load container for agricultural products. A numerical study was performed on the effects of the location of inlet air and outlet air in relation to the container cooling sources on air distribution and thermal comfort. A concept of combining inner container cooling sources with the exhaust outlet was employed in this investigation. Also, in this research, the developed CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) models were thoroughly validated. This system was adopted for use in container spaces, where the exhaust outlet was located. In this study, the location of the inlet was derived through CFD for a container with a size of 1,100×1,100×1,700 mm, and it was derived that the inlet was located at the center of the lower part of the container for efficient air flow. It was efficient to position the outlet through the air inlet in the center of the lower part of the container at the top of the same side.

  • Garlic (Allium sativum)is a major crop in most Asian countries, and its consumption in Asia-Pacific countries exceeds 90% of the global consumption. It contains beneficial ingredients and numerous essential nutrients, such as manganese, vitamin B6, and vitamin B1. Garlic demand is rising not only in Asian countries but also around the world. Particularly, garlic demand has been steadily increasing in European countries, such as Spain, France, Italy, and the American continent. In South Korea, 331,671 tons and 387,671 tons of garlic was produced in 2018 and 2019, respectively, making the country the fifth ranking garlic producer in the world, and the production has been increasing every year. In this study, the study on temperature distribution in cold storage of Korean garlic in folding wire mesh pallet container using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis was performed and Computations were based a commercial simulation software (ANSYS Workbenh Ver. 18.0). Considering the respiration heat of garlic, the decreasing rate of temperature in the area in contact with the cold air was fast due to the inflow of cold air inside, while the decreasing rate of temperature in the center of the pallet was very low. In order to maintain a uniform temperature distribution inside the agricultural product storage pallet in a low-temperature warehouse, it is considered desirable to install an air passageway to allow low-temperature air to flow into the wire mesh pallet.

상대습도에 따른 농산물 포장용 골판지의 원지의 물리적 특성 변화 및 상자압축강도의 예측 (Physical Properties of Corrugated Fiberboard and Estimation of Box Compression Strength with Changes of Relative Humidity)

  • Determination of safety factor of corrugated fiberboard boxes used for agricultural products is very complicated process due to nature of living products. Moisture content is one of the most critical factors to determine overall physical strength of paper, so its influences on strength properties of corrugated board made from different raw materials must be quantified. The results obtained from the study were summarized as follows; 1. Results show a detrimental effect on bursting strength and compressive strength of liners with increasing relative humidity of environment and moisture content of liners. 2. The relevance of equilibrium moisture content at varying relative humidity levels was proved and its relationship was used as an important factor to estimate box compression strength. 3. Test results was statistically used for establish the relationship between relative humidity and moisture content of liners. Estimated compression strength of boxes at varying moisture content was similar to results of theoretical equations such as Kellicutt's. Further study could be carried out in order to determine a optimum safety factors of various corrugated board boxes for agricultural products.

Power Distribution Network Modeling using Block-based Approach

  • A power distribution network (PDN) is a network that provides connection between the voltage source supply and the power/ground terminals of a microprocessor chip. It consists of a voltage regulator module, a printed circuit board, a package substrate, a microprocessor chip as well as decoupling capacitors. For power integrity analysis, the board and package layouts have to be transformed into an electrical network of resistor, inductor and capacitor components which may be expressed using the S-parameters models. This modeling process generally takes from several hours up to a few days for a complete board or package layout. When the board and package layouts change, they need to be re-extracted and the S-parameters models also need to be re-generated for power integrity assessment. This not only consumes a lot of resources such as time and manpower, the task of PDN modeling is also tedious and mundane. In this paper, a block-based PDN modeling is proposed. Here, the board or package layout is partitioned into sub-blocks and each of them is modeled independently. In the event of a change in power rails routing, only the affected sub-blocks will be reextracted and re-modeled. Simulation results show that the proposed block-based PDN modeling not only can save at least 75% of processing time but it can, at the same time, keep the modeling accuracy on par with the traditional PDN modeling methodology.

포장용 Sodium Caseinate(CasNa)/Transglutaminase(TG) 코팅지 제조 및 특성 분석 (Preparation and Characterization of Sodium Caseinate (CasNa)/Transglutaminase (TG)-coated Papers for Packaging)

  • 본 연구에서는 CasNa와 TG를 혼합하여 5종의 CasNa/TG코팅액을 제조하였고, 제조한 코팅액을 종이 표면에 코팅하여 CasNa/TG 코팅지들을 제조하였다. 제조한 코팅지는 TG 함량에 따라 형태학적 특성, 인장강도 및 신장율, 열접착강도, 수증기 투과 특성에 대하여 분석하였다. CasNa/TG 코팅지의 경우 pristine CasNa 코팅지보다 신장율, 수증기 투과 특성이 개선됨을 확인하였다. FTIR 분석 결과, TG 함량이 증가함에 따라 피크의 세기가 변화하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 SEM 분석 결과, TG 함량이 증가함에 따라 깨짐 없는 균일한 코팅층이 형성된 것을 확인하였다. 이는 TG의 도입으로 인한 CasNa 내 화학적 구조의 변화가 CasNa 기반 코팅액과 코팅지에 영향을 미치는 것으로 판단되며, 이로 인해 신장율, 수증기 투과 특성이 개선되는 것으로 판단된다. CasNa 기반 코팅지의 경우 지속 가능한 포장 소재로서 응용될 가능성이 클 것으로 예상된다. 하지만, 셀룰로오스 나노파이버, 폴리에틸렌 이민 등과 같은 첨가제를 활용하여 CasNa의 화학적·물리적 변화에 관한 추가적인 연구와 포장 소재로 사용하기 위해 요구되는 물성인 산소 및 수분 차단 특성, 내열성 등에 대하여 추가적인 연구가 필요한것으로 판단된다.

포장식품의 레토르트 공정 (Retort Processing of Packaged Foods)

  • Packaged food products often undergo retort processing, a thermal processing in a pressurized vessel called a retort, to ensure their microbiological safety or shelf-stability under normal non-refrigerated conditions of storage and distribution. Retort processing is generally aimed to accomplish commercial sterility of packaged foods with acceptable nutritional and sensorial qualities. Fundamental principles on retort processing, such as thermal resistance kinetics of target microorganism, heat penetration theory, and methods for evaluating process sterility and food quality loss, were reviewed. Factors affecting process severity, heat transfer mechanism, and heat penetration efficiency were summarized. General features of retortable packaging formats including metal cans, glass jars, and plastic packages were also briefly reviewed.
