  • Many studies have estimated a mixture of binomial distributions. This paper considers an extension, a mixture of shifted binomial distributions, and the estimation of the distribution. The range of each component binomial distribution is rst evaluated and then for each possible value of shifted parameters, the EM algorithm is employed to estimate those parameters. From a set of possible value of shifted parameters and corresponding estimated parameters of the distribution, the likelihood of given data is determined. The simulation results verify the performance of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, general classes of continuous distributions are characterized by considering the conditional expectations of functions of upper record statistics. The specific distribution considered as a particular case of the general class of distribution are Exponential, Exponential Power(EP), Inverse Weibull, Beta Gumbel, Modified Weibull(MW), Weibull, Pareto, Power, Singh-Maddala, Gumbel, Rayleigh, Gompertz, Extream value 1, Beta of the first kind, Beta of the second kind and Lomax.

  • Let {$X_n$, $n{\geq}1$} be a sequence of i.i.d. random variables with absolutely continuous cumulative distribution function(cdf) F(x) and the corresponding probability density function(pdf) f(x). In this paper, we give characterizations of Pareto and Weibull distribution by considering conditional expectations of record values.

  • A powerful and easily computed goodness-of-fit test for Pareto distribution which does not depend on the unknown location and scale parameters is proposed based on the transformed sample Lorenz curve. We compare the power of the proposed test statistic with the other goodness-of-fit tests for Pareto distribution against various alternatives through Monte Carlo methods.

  • The objective of experimental study is to apply simultaneous measurement by PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) to high_speed flow characteristics within ginseng cleaner model. Three different kinds of flow rate(15. 20, 27l/min) are selected as experimental condition. Optimized cross correlation identification to obtain velocity distribution, time-mean velocity distribution, velocity, profile, kinetic energy and turbulence intensity are represented quantitatively for the deeped understanding of the flow characteristics in a ginseng cleaner model.

  • A numerical simulation of the temperature rise for sliding surface in dry contact is based on Jaegers formula combined with a calculated heat input. A gear tooth temperature analysis was performed. The pressure distribution has the Hertzian pressure distribution on the heat source. The heat partition factor is calculated along ling of action. A Temperature distribution of tooth surface is calculated about before and after profile modification. A Temperature of addendum and deddendum in modified gear have reduced.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse the distribution of thermal sensation response and thermal environment condition in convective heating space. The contents of this study are as follows: 1)the spatial distributions of thermal conditions are measured 2)the thermal sensation vote of residents is taken in order to investigate the relation between thermal condition and human thermal sensation in sedentary condition 3)to analyse the distribution of subject's thermal sensation vote and thermal environment condition by two methods-regression method and graph method.

  • On the basis of the distribution of particle size measured by laser diffraction spectrometers, this research was carried out to investigate the characteristics of mist removal with the change of operating condition in the plasma reactor of impulse streamer corona. The operating parameters in this experiment were power of impulse streamer corona, gas velocity, impulse generation time, gas temperature, and SOx/NOx concentration. The collection efficiency T(d) was estimated by the distribution of particle size in the collection zone through the advanced model.
