The Hanon volcano located in the southern pan of Cheju Island, Korea has a wetland in its crater being used as a farmland. Previous researchers presumed this wetland was a maar lake in the past. Based on the seismic refraction method, the wetland sediment layer was estimated between 5 to 14 m deep, which is mostly in accordance with previous researches. However, this shows only the depths at some sites, not representing the whole spatial distribution. This study is an attempt to reconstruct the volcanic lake in Hanon crater by applying the spatial statistical techniques based on the depth information from the seismic survey and known data. The procedure of reconstruction is as follows: First, the depth information from the seismic survey and known data were collected and it was interpolated by IDW and Ordinary Kriging method. Next, with the interpolation map and the present DEM the paleo DEM was constructed. Finally, using the paleo lake level on core data, the boundary of volcanic lake was extracted from the paleo DEM. The reconstructed lake resembles a half-moon in the north of the central scoria cone. It is estimated that the lake was 5 m deep on average and 13 m deep at the deepest point. Although there are slight differences according to the interpolation techniques, it is calculated that the area of the lake was between 184,000 and $190000m^2,$ and its volume approximately $869,760m^3$. Because of the continuous deposition processes after the crater formation, the reconstructed volcanic lake would not indicate an actual lake at a specific time. Nevertheless, it offers a significant clue regarding the inner morphology and evolution of the crater.

DQDB(Distributed Queue Dual Bus) protocol, the IEEE 802.6 standard protocol for metropolitan area networks, does not fully take advantage of the capabilities of dual bus architecture. Although fairness in bandwidth distribution among nodes is improved when using so called the bandwidth balancing mechanism, the protocol requires a considerable amount of time to adjust to changes in the network load. Additionally, the bandwidth balancing mechanism leaves a portion of the available bandwidth unused. In a high-speed backbone network, each node may act as a bridge/ router which connects several LANs as well as hosts. However, Because the existence of high speed LANs becomes commonplace, the congestionmay occur on a node because of the limitation on access rate to the backbone network and on available buffer spaces. to release the congestion, it is desirable to install some congestion control algorithm in the node. In this paper, we propose an efficient congestion control mechanism and fair and waster-free MAC protocol for dual bus network. In this protocol, all the buffers in the network can be shared in such a way that the transmission rate of each node can be set proportional to its load. In other words, a heavily loaded node obtains a larger bandwidth to send the sements so tht the congestion can be avoided while the uncongested nodes slow down their transmission rate and store the incoming segments into thier buffers. this implies that the buffers on the network can be shared dynamically. Simulation results show that the proposed probotol significantly reduces the segment queueing delay of a heavily loaded node and segment loss rate when compared with original DQDB. And it enables an attractive high throughput in the backbone network. Because in the proposed protocol, each node does not send a requet by the segment but send a request one time in the meaning of having segments, the frequency of sending requests is very low in the proposed protocol. so the proposed protocol signigificantly reduces the segment queuing dely. and In the proposed protocol, each node uses bandwidth in proportion to its load. so In case of limitation of available buffer spaces, the proposed protocol reduces segment loss rate of a heavily loaded node. Bandwidth balancing DQDB requires the wastage of bandwidth to be fair bandwidth allocation. But the proposed DQDB MAC protocol enables fair bandwidth without wasting bandwidth by using bandwidth one after another among active nodes.

This study was conducted to analyze the characteristics of records related to Korea shown in the cataloging records of national libraries of the main 10 developing countries in Asia and Africa. The results are as follows. To begin with, Korea-related records in most national libraries are very poor and under 0.1% of the library. Except for National Library of Viet Nam, the figure is under 3,000 volumes and generally 2 times less than Japan related records. Second, except for National Library of Iran and Viet Nam most national libraries romanize Korean materials, there are not marked with the original Korean language and unfeasible Hangeul search. Third, on investigation of the subject distribution in sub criteria of Korea-related records, subject related to history and economy is largely shown in the highest rate. Fifth, among the Korea-related subject heading, Taekwondo is marked with distinction from Karate in most libraries except for 7 national libraries. Dokdo is marked with the geographical name of 'Korea' in 7 national libraries and East Sea (Donghae) already is marked with 'Japan, Sea of' in 7 national libraries. Amnokgang, Dumangang, and Baekdusan-related records did not search at all in most national libraries.
This paper compares the price strategies of Korean internet retailers against those of Korean traditional retailers in regard to books, CD\\`s, cosmetics, softwares, PC and peripherals, and electronic home appliances. The data shows that the average prices of books, CD\\`s, and cosmetics are cheaper in the internet market than in the traditional market when there is a large purchase. However, when there is a small purchase, the average prices of books and CD\\`s are more expensive in the internet market than in the traditional market. In other cases, the difference of the average prices in the two markets was negligible. When there is a large purchase, the dispersion of prices of books is smaller in the internee market than in the traditional market. In other cases, the dispersion of prices is smaller in the internet market than in the traditional market, but the difference was negligible to be statistically significant. The findings imply that internet retailers generally pursue a specialization strategy against traditional retailers by factors other than prices. Internee retailers seem to pursue price competition against traditional retailers only for large purchases in some cheap commodity industries. It is also found that the internet shopping-malls managed or owned by existing traditional retailers or manufactures are rare and are operated dependently on existing distribution channels. The findings also imply that the Internet market begins to be established only in some cheap commodity industries and the Internet market has yet to be generally established in Korea.
CBD(Component Based Development) has become the best strategical method for the business application. Because CBD is a new development paradigm which makes it possible to assemble the software components for application, it copes with the rapid challenge of business process and meets the increasing requirements for productivity. Since the business process is rapidly changing, CBD technology is the promising way to solve the productivity. Especially, the repository is the most important part for the development, distribution and reuse of components. In component repository, we can store and manage the related work-products produced at each step of component development as well as component itself. In this paper, we suggested a practical approach for repository construction to support and realize the CBD process and developed the CRMS(Component Repository Management System) as implementation product of the proposed techniques. CRMS can manage a variety of component products based on component architecture, and help software developers to search a candidate component for their project and to understand a variety of information for the component. In the paper, a practical approach for component repository was suggested, and a supporting environment was constructed to make CBD to be working efficiently. We expect this work wall be valuable research for component repository and the entire supporting Component Based Development Process.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the urban hydrologic state by the use of GIS, resolution and interpolation. The determination coefficient($R^2$) and Regression Formula were derived from the contour of digital map for the accuracy, and DEM data was made by using TIN interpolation by the size of the grid. By using the observed DEM data, topographical factors were extracted from the small basin, size, the width of a basin and the slope, and were applied in the urban runoff model. Through the model, we tried to find out the most suitable runoff model in a small basin of Yosu-Munsu area. As a result of applying models to the drainage considered, the runoff hydrograph estimated by SWMM model was closer to the observed one than that estimated by ILLUDAS model. The difference between the runoff hydrograph by SWMM and the observed one is maximum error of 19%, minimum error of 5% and average error of 13%. The influence of duration in contrast to pick time is insignificant in a urban small basin. As a conclusion of this study, SWMM model was more suitable and applicable for the urban runoff model than ILLUDAS model due to its accuracy and various abilities.

This study identified characteristics of households in Seo Geumsa based on factors related to how well each household understood and agreed or disagreed with the Newtown project and the resettlement process that is required to establish the renewal promotion plan. To this end, the authors applied the unit of spatial analysis developed by Tong, segmented the land intended for large-scale development, and then developed a method for analyzing and comparing the segmented lands by certain characteristics. The results of the survey were analyzed in three stages: the characteristics of districts; the relationships between agreement and disagreement factors and differences among segmented districts. And, to assess districts with features that differed from the overall features of households in renewal districts, the authors developed a two-way stage division plan and conducted a cluster analysis. The authors analyzed districts with individual characteristics based on the household features developed by Tong, and then analyzed the features of household distribution in these districts along with spatial location.
The mesoscale atmospheric models to produce surface temperature can not generally consider the effect of the sloped terrain for direct solar radiation. These have not showed the regional difference of solar radiation and as a result, have made the big error in the local surface temperature. Therefore, we wished to represent the exact locality of surface temperature by considering the geometric properties of surface as well as the vegetated properties of surface. The purpose of the study is to produce local surface ground temperature in sloped terrain diagnostically using surface Energy Balance Model (EBM) with the use of GRID model in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). In this study, surface inhomogeneity over southeastern part of Korean peninsula are considered in estimation of the absorbed surface solar radiation in terms of the illumination angle, depending on topographical aspect and slope in GRID. Also, the properties of vegetated surface which the major components for the variability of surface temperature are considered in terms of NDVI. The results of our study show the locally changes in the surface ground temperature due to local ground aspect and slope effect and local properties of vegetated surface. The more detailed distribution of local surface temperature may drive the local circulation at lower atmospheric and it may explain better the real local circulation.

Various policies have been implemented for human resources development in preparation for future society. Among the policies, STEAM education, SMART education and SW education are representative examples. In order for these policies to be implemented effectively in the school setting, teachers' positive perception and teaching competency are required. In consideration of the importance of pre-service teacher education, this study analyzed the current status of elementary pre-service teachers' perception and teaching readiness on STEAM education, SMART education and SW education, and sought implications that can be reflected in pre-service teacher education. The results of the study showed that the pre-service teachers' perception on the necessity of each policy was very high, and the understanding level of each policy was relatively high. Compared with this, it was found that pre-service teachers lacked training experience related to each policy, and the level of readiness for teaching was very low. As the most important task to be solved, many pre-service teachers selected the implementation of teacher education and seminars, and the distribution of instructional programs and materials. As the result of analyzing the difference according to pre-service teachers' individual characteristics, differences were found according to the level of their ICT utilization ability. Based on the results of this study, implications to be reflected in pre-service teacher training processes were suggested.

Characteristics of the static shift are discussed by comparing the three-dimensional MT inversion with/without static shift parameterization. The galvanic distortion by small-scale shallow feature often leads severe distortion in inverted resistivity structures. The new inversion algorithm is applied to four numerical data sets contaminated by different amount of static shift. In real field data interpretations, we generally do not have any a-priori information about how much the data contains the static shift. In this study, we developed an algorithm for finding both Lagrangian multiplier for smoothness and the trade-off parameter for static shift, simultaneously in 3-D MT inversion. Applications of this inversion routine for the numerical data sets showed quite reasonable estimation of static shift parameters without any a-priori information. The inversion scheme is successfully applied to all the four data sets, even when the static shift does not obey the Gaussian distribution. Allowing the static shift parameters have non-zero degree of freedom to the inversion, we could get more accurate block resistivities as well as static shifts in the data. When inversion does not consider the static shift as inversion parameters (conventional MT inversion), the block resistivities on the surface are modified considerably to match possible static shift. The inhomogeneous blocks on the surface can generate the static shift at low frequencies. By those mechanisms, the conventional 3-D MT inversion can reconstruct the resistivity structures to some extent in the deeper parts even when moderate static shifts are in the data. As frequency increased, however, the galvanic distortion is not frequency independent any more, and thus the conventional inversion failed to fit the apparent resistivity and phase, especially when strong static shift is added. Even in such case, however, reasonable estimation of block resistivity as well as static shift parameters were obtained by 3-D MT inversion with static shift parameterization.
