MANET에서 계층 구조를 이용한 공격 탐지 기법 연구 (A Study on Attack Detection using Hierarchy Architecture in Mobile Ad Hoc Network)

  • MANET has various types of attacks. In particular, routing attacks using characteristics of movement of nodes and wireless communication is the most threatening because all nodes which configure network perform a function of router which forwards packets. Therefore, mechanisms that detect routing attacks and defense must be applied. In this paper, we proposed hierarchical structure attack detection techniques in order to improve the detection ability against routing attacks. Black hole detection is performed using PIT for monitoring about control packets within cluster and packet information management on the cluster head. Flooding attack prevention is performed using cooperation-based distributed detection technique by member nodes. For this, member node uses NTT for information management of neighbor nodes and threshold whether attack or not receives from cluster head. The performance of attack detection could be further improved by calculating at regular intervals threshold considering the total traffic within cluster in the cluster head.

  • An approach to detect abnormal activities based on reputations created individually by each node is vulnerable to a false accusation since intrusion detection in ad-hoc networks is done in a distributed and cooperative manner. Detection of false accusation is considered important because the efficiency or survivability of the network can be degraded severely if normal nodes were excluded from the network by being considered as abnormal ones in the intrusion detection process. In this paper, we propose an improved reputation-based intrusion detection technique to efficiently detect and manage false accusations in ad-hoc networks. Additionally, we execute simulations of the proposed technique to analyze its performance and feasibility to be implemented in a real environment.

A SYN flooding attack detection approach with hierarchical policies based on self-information

  • The SYN flooding attack is widely used in cyber attacks because it paralyzes the network by causing the system and bandwidth resources to be exhausted. This paper proposed a self-information approach for detecting the SYN flooding attack and provided a detection algorithm with a hierarchical policy on a detection time domain. Compared with other detection methods of entropy measurement, the proposed approach is more efficient in detecting the SYN flooding attack, providing low misjudgment, hierarchical detection policy, and low time complexity. Furthermore, we proposed a detection algorithm with limiting system resources. Thus, the time complexity of our approach is only (log n) with lower time complexity and misjudgment rate than other approaches. Therefore, the approach can detect the denial-of-service/distributed denial-of-service attacks and prevent SYN flooding attacks.

  • In this paper, we present a distributed algorithm for detecting dynamic event regions in wireless sensor network with the consideration on energy saving. Our model is that the sensing field is monitored by a large number of randomly distributed sensors with low-power battery and limited functionality, and that the event region is dynamic with motion or changing the shape. At any time that the event happens, we need some sensors awake to detect it and to wake up its k-hop neighbors to detect further events. Scheduling for the network to save the total power-cost or to maximize the monitoring time has been studied extensively. Our scheme is that some predetermined sensors, called critical sensors are awake all the time and when the event is detected by a critical sensor the sensor broadcasts to the neighbors to check their sensing area. Then the neighbors check their area and decide whether they wake up or remain in sleeping mode with certain criteria. Our algorithm uses only 2 bit of information in communication between sensors, thus the total communication cost is low, and the speed of detecting all event region is high. We adapt two kinds of measure for the wake-up decision. With suitable threshold values, our algorithm can be applied for many applications and for the trade-off between energy saving and the efficiency of event detection.

분포형 유연 촉각센서 시스템의 개발 (Development of a Distributed Flexible Tactile Sensor System)

  • This research is the development of a distributed tactile sensor using PVDF film far the detection of the contact state. The prototype of the tactile sensor with 8$\times$8 taxels was fabricated using PVDF film and flexible circuitry. In the fabrication procedure, the electrode and the common electrode patterns are attached to the both side of the 28${\mu}m$ thickness PVDF film. The sensor is covered with polyester film for insulation. The signals of a contact pressure to the tactile sensor are sensed and processed in the DSP system in which the signals are digitalized and filtered. And the signals are integrated for taking the force profile. The processed signals of the output of the sensor are visualized to take the shape and force distribution of the contact object in personal computer. The usefulness of the sensor system is verified through the sensing examples.

  • 리더는 그룹 내의 여러 프로세스 중에서 조정자 역할을 하는 특별한 프로세스이다. 분산 시스템에서 하나의 조정자를 선출하는 과정을 리더선출이라 하며 이는 결함허용 분산시스템을 구축하기 위한 매우 중요한 문제이다. 현재 정상 작동하고 있는 두 개의 모바일 ad hoc 네트워크 그룹들이 병합되면 두 개의 리더가 존재하게 된다. 이것은 안전성 속성에 위배되므로 이를 감지하고 처리할 수 있는 메커니즘이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 ad hoc 분산 컴퓨팅 시스템에서 그룹 멤버십 탐지 기반의 리더 경쟁 프로토콜을 제안하고 이를 시제논리로 검증하고자 한다.

계통연계 분산전원의 새로운 단독운전 판별기법 (Novel Islanding Detection Method for Distributed Generation Interconnected with Utility Grid)

  • This paper describes the development of a novel islanding detection method, which uses the signal cross-corelation scheme between the injected reactive current and the power frequency deviation. The existing method, which injects the reactive current of 2.5-5% to the rated current and detects the frequency deviation directly, brings about lowing the power quality due to the harmonic pollution. The proposed method eliminates the weak point of the existing method, because it injects the reactive current less than 1% to the rated current. The operational feasibility was verified through computer simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC software, and experimental works with a 10kVA hardware prototype. The proposed method can detect the islanding status effectively without lowing the power quality of interconnected distributed generation system.

Using Subspace Pursuit Algorithm to Improve Performance of the Distributed Compressive Wide-Band Spectrum Sensing

  • This paper applies a compressed algorithm to improve the spectrum sensing performance of cognitive radio technology. At the fusion center, the recovery error in the analog to information converter (AIC) when reconstructing the transmit signal from the received time-discrete signal causes degradation of the detection performance. Therefore, we propose a subspace pursuit (SP) algorithm to reduce the recovery error and thereby enhance the detection performance. In this study, we employ a wide-band, low SNR, distributed compressed sensing regime to analyze and evaluate the proposed approach. Simulations are provided to demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm.

  • 인터넷의 급속한 발달은 대규모 네트워크를 형성하였고 그에 따른 정보를 위협하는 요소의 형태 역시 점차 다양화되고 분산화된 형태를 나타낸다. 이러한 공격 형태의 변화에 대응하기 위해서는 단일 탐지 엔진을 갖는 침입탐지시스템만으로는 탐지가 어렵게 된다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 침입 탐지 기능 이외에 대규모 네트워크 상에서 이루어지는 다중 동시 공격을 효과적으로 감지할 수 있는 분산 침입탐지시스템을 설계 구현하였다. 이를 위해 감시 대상 호스트들에 침입 탐지엔진을 독립된 에이전트로 설치한 후, 이들이 생성하는 감사 데이터를 토대로 하여 침입 판정을 내린다. 독립적으로 운영되었던 이전 버전에 비하여 새로운 버전은 이처럼 분산화되어 있을 뿐만 아니라 탐지 규칙에 대한 세계 표준화 동향인 CVE를 따르도록 개선되었다.

  • Recently, much research has been done and many improvements have been developed for islanding protection of distributed generation(DG). Anti-islanding protection for DG must be act very quickly to prevent equipment damage at the time of disconnection and for the safety of maintenance and repair personnel. DG-based detection methods have included both passive and active types, and now research has shifted towards new anti-islanding detection methods that make up for the defects of the previous types. Because differences occur between the utility grid and the DG when connecting and disconnecting depending on the phase difference, voltage, current, relative capacity of electric power, and system operation characteristics, voltage phase angle is an important consideration. In this paper, we simulated islanded operation characteristics comparing phase difference of DG and the connected utility grid, and analyzed various parameters (real power, reactive power, RMS voltage, RMS current, power factor angle, and frequency) by varying the DG's voltage phase angle. Using this information, we propose a suitable DG voltage phase angle for enhanced passive islanding detection techniques.
