  • Purposes of this study were to provide the basic information for the management policy for more preserve and refreshing Gusumok-big and old tree. Fundamental directions for the protection and application of Gusumok were suggested by comparing and analyzing present conditions and remnant forms of Gusumok as preserved tree in Kyung-ju and its function and the role of Gusumok according to the civilization and diference between past and present. The main results of the study are as follows ; There are 121 Gusumok which designated as a preserved tree in Kyung-ju. It is distributed all over the Kyung-ju city uniformly and located in the enterance or the center of a village having high interests of most of residents. in the course of a civilzation, the percintage of a loss of an urban Gusumok is higher than that of a rural Gusumok and its function is also changed so much. A modern function of Gusumok can be divided into a positive and negative one. A positive function is the offer of amenity and the place of receation, formation of culture and ragulation of micro climate. A negative function is of psycholosical and functional reversed function. having a close relation with our life, Gusumok offers an amenity place to our life to make us feel soft and comfortable as well as developes the quality of our life. Gusumok has an important meaning in mordern society in that it contibutes to our village being better to live by having a historical meaning and creating a symbolic culture and history.

  • This paper discusses the development of an educational web-based power flow program for undergraduate students. The interaction between lectures and users can be much enhanced via the web-based programs which result in the student's learning effectiveness on the power flow problem. However the difficulties for developing web-based application programs are that there can be the numerous unspecified users to access the application programs. To overcome the aforementioned multi-users problem and to develope the educational web-based power flow program, we have revised the system architecture, the modeling of application programs, and database which efficiently and effectively manages the complex data sets related to the power flow analysis program. The developed application program is composed of the physical three tiers where the middle tier is logically divided into two kinds of application programs. The divided application programs are interconnected by using the Web-service based on XML (Extended Markup Technology) and HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) which make it possible the distributed computing technology Also, this paper describes the method of database modeling to handle effectively when the numerous users change the parameters of the power system to compare the results of the base case.

  • The shared-nothing multiprocessor architecture has advantages in scalability, this architecture has been adopted in many multiprocessor database system. But, if the data are not uniformly distributed across the processors, load will be unbalanced. Therefore, the whole system performance will deteriorate. This is the data skew problem, which usually occurs in processing parallel hash join. Balancing the load before performing join will resolve this problem efficiently and the whole system performance can be improved. In this paper, we will present an algorithm using merit of very large memory to reduce disk access overhead in performing load balancing and to efficiently solve the data skew problem. Also, we will present analytical model of our new algorithm and present the result of some performance study we made comparing our algorithm with the other algorithms in handling data skew.

  • Turbulent flow-induced vibrations generate the structural fatigue and noise problems. In this paper, using Corcos, Smol' yakov-Tkachenko, Ffowcs Williams and Chase models, the input power generated by distributed fluid force is predicted for power flow analysis (PFA) of turbulent flow-induced vibration. Additionally, the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is used to raise the calculation efficiency PFA results obtained are compared with the classical modal solutions for verifications. Analytic results using the fluid models show good agreements with those of modal analysis, respectively.

  • In this paper, we introduce the mobile grid architecture using kernel-based managements. Mobile grid paradigm is used to allow mobile users to access distributed resources in a transparent, secure and effective way. Each mobile grid user requests job submission, searches for suitable resources to run Job, executes the job to the allocated system resources, and receives the results of the requested job. There are a number of challenging issues when taking mobile environment into account, such as limited performance of mobile devices and mobility of mobile device. To resolve these issues, we design and implement the kernel-based management system for mobile grid application to overcome the limited resources of mobile devices. Also, we show the efficiency of the suggested architecture using the performance evaluation.

  • A hybrid Cartesian/immersed boundary code is expanded to simulate flow field around a three-dimensional body which undergoes large dynamic deformation. Immersed boundary nodes are automatically distributed based on the edges crossing triangles on body boundary. Velocity vectors are reconstructed at those immersed boundary nodes along local normal lines to the boundary. The reconstruction of pressure is avoided using the hybrid staggered/non-staggered grid method. The developed code is validated through comparisons with other results on laminar flow over a sphere. The code is applied to simulate flow around a foil which is attached to a body of revolution and rotates under periodic deformation. The periodic variation of the tip vortex is observed and the effects of the deformation on hydrodynamic force acting on the body are investigated.

  • Today's multi-core technology rapidly increases with more and more Intellectual Property cores on a single chip. Network-on-Chip (NoC) is an emerging communication network design for SoC. For efficient on-chip communication, routing algorithms plays an important role. This paper proposes a novel multicast routing technique entitled as Docket NoC (Dt-NoC), which eliminates the need of routing tables for faster communication. This technique reduces the latency and computing power of NoC. This work uses a CURVE restriction based algorithm to restrict few CURVES during the communication between source and destination and it prevents the network from deadlock and livelock. Performance evaluation is done by utilizing cycle accurate RTL simulator and by Cadence TSMC 18 nm technology. Experimental results show that the Dt-NoC architecture consumes power approximately 33.75% 27.65% and 24.85% less than Baseline XY, EnA, OEnA architectures respectively. Dt-NoC performs good as compared to other routing algorithms such as baseline XY, EnA, OEnA distributed architecture in terms of latency, power and throughput.
