In this paper, we optimize antenna locations for a distributed antenna system (DAS) with distributed antenna (DA) ports equipped with multiple antennas under per-DA port power constraint. Maximum ratio transmission and scaled zero-forcing beamforming are employed for single-user and multi-user DAS, respectively. Instead of maximizing the cell average ergodic sum rate, we focus on a lower bound of the expected signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for the single-cell scenario and the expected signal-to-leakage ratio (SLR) for the two-cell scenario to determine antenna locations. For the single-cell case, optimization of the SNR criterion generates a closed form solution in comparison to conventional iterative algorithms. Also, a gradient ascent algorithm is proposed to solve the SLR criterion for the two-cell scenario. Simulation results show that DAS with antenna locations obtained from the proposed algorithms achieve capacity gains over traditional centralized antenna systems.

This paper presents design and implementation of the monitoring system for the distributed simulation of underwater warfare. As importance of defense modeling and simulation(M&S) has raised, Simulation-Based Acquisition(SBA) was authorized for an obligatory process in the development process of weapon systems. Yet, it requires tremendous resources to develop a large-scale simulation system that describes complex and broad battlefields. Therefore, an approach of the distributed system was devised to develop a new simulation system combining legacy simulators that were developed for confined purpose and sole operations. High-Level Architecture(HLA) of distributed systems is a standardized protocol by IEEE for the distributed simulation system and Run-Time Infrastructure(RTI) is an implementation of HLA to structure efficient distributed systems. The main objective of this paper is to derive appropriate monitoring factors for underwater warfare simulation, design and implementation of the monitoring system to analyze the factors based on HLA/RTI.

In this paper, we present a new framework and synchronization mechanism to effectively support developing real-time communication service by using a real-time object model named TMO (Time-Triggered Message-Triggered Object). Also, we describes the application environment as the DHS(distributed high-precision simulation) to guarantee real-time service message with TMO structure in distributed network systems. The TMO scheme is aimed for enabling a great reduction of the designer's effort in guaranteeing timely real-time communication service capabilities of among distributed multi-nodes systems. Our real-time framework provide the consistent construction and configuration of tine-triggered processing components across heterogeneous distributed object environment more easily. It has been formulated from the beginning with the objective of enabling design-time guaranteeing of timely action. In the real time simulation techniques based on TMO object modeling, we have observed several advantages to the TMO structuring scheme. TMO object modeling has a strong traceability between requirement specification and design.

An effective educational program warrants the inclusion of an innovative construction which enhances the higher education efficacy in such a way that accelerates the achievement of desired results and reduces the risk of failures. Educational Decision Support System (EDSS) has currently been a hot topic in educational systems, facilitating the pupil result monitoring and evaluation to be performed during their development. Insufficient information systems encounter trouble and hurdles in making the sufficient advantage from EDSS owing to the deficit of accuracy, incorrect analysis study of the characteristic, and inadequate database. DMTs (Data Mining Techniques) provide helpful tools in finding the models or forms of data and are extremely useful in the decision-making process. Several researchers have participated in the research involving distributed data mining with multi-agent technology. The rapid growth of network technology and IT use has led to the widespread use of distributed databases. This article explains the available data mining technology and the distributed data mining system framework. Distributed Data Mining approach is utilized for this work so that a classifier capable of predicting the success of students in the economic domain can be constructed. This research also discusses the Intelligent Knowledge Base Distributed Data Mining framework to assess the performance of the students through a mid-term exam and final-term exam employing Multi-agent system-based educational mining techniques. Using single and ensemble-based classifiers, this study intends to investigate the factors that influence student performance in higher education and construct a classification model that can predict academic achievement. We also discussed the importance of multi-agent systems and comparative machine learning approaches in EDSS development.
By large quantity supply of high efficiency computers, various kind of distributed resource has been extravagant around. Use this distributed resource, if exclude concept of systems by each field, module, operation and administration then we can use it into minimum expense. Hereupon, accommodate some among contents that is proposed through 'Proposal of DVM and DESPL that have apply in distributed environment' and designs and implements SDVM. The user who use SDVM can use into minimum expense without concept of distributed environment.
This paper presents an idea of implementation of many semiconductor equipments. The idea is a new design methodology of the Networked Control Systems (NCSs) using CAN (Controller Area Network) will be discussed. The Distributed Control Systems (DCSs) is very useful to control multiple systems that have a distance to communicate. The CAN protocol is very strong to noise, also provides the user with many powerful functionality. Only one communication line (BUS) is used, so that a control and a maintenance of those systems are very easy. This paper is concerned with the speed control of multiple DC motors using CAN Protocol. Experimental systems are made to validate effectiveness of the systems. The results of the experiment show that the NCSs using CAN has excellency in real time control.

Many researches have been conducted to achieve improvement in distributed system that connects multiple computer systems via communication lines. Among others, the load balancing and file migration are considered to have significant impact on the performance of distributed system. The dynamic file migration algorithm common in distributed processing system involved complex calculations of decision function necessary for file migration and required migration of control messages for the performance of decision function. However, the performance of this decision function puts significant computational strain on computer. As one single network is shared by all computers, more computers connected to network means migration of more control messages from file migration, causing the network to trigger bottleneck in distributed processing system. Therefore, it has become imperative to carry out the research that aims to reduce the number of control messages that will be migrated. In this study, the learning automata was used for file migration which would requires only the file reference-related information to determine whether file migration has been made or determine the time and site of file migration, depending on the file conditions, thus reflecting the status of current system well and eliminating the message transfer and additional calculation overhead for file migration. Moreover, mathematical model for file migration was described in order to verify the proposed model. The results from mathematical model and simulation model suggest that the proposed model is well-suited to the distributed system.

A network-coding-based scheme is proposed to improve the energy efficiency of distributed storage systems in WSNs (Wireless Sensor Networks). We mainly focus on two problems: firstly, consideration is given to effective distributed storage technology; secondly, we address how to effectively repair the data in failed storage nodes. For the first problem, we propose a method to obtain a sparse generator matrix to construct network codes, and this sparse generator matrix is proven to be the sparsest. Benefiting from this matrix, the energy consumption required to implement distributed storage is reduced. For the second problem, we designed a network-coding-based iterative repair method, which adequately utilizes the idea of re-encoding at intermediate nodes from network coding theory. Benefiting from the re-encoding, the energy consumption required by data repair is significantly reduced. Moreover, we provide an explicit lower bound of field size required by this scheme, which implies that it can work over a small field and the required computation overhead is very low. The simulation result verifies that the proposed scheme not only reduces the total energy consumption required to implement distributed storage system in WSNs, but also balances energy consumption of the networks.

A novel anti-islanding method for the distributed power generation system (DPGS) is proposed in this paper. Three different islanding scenarios are explored and presented based on the analysis of real and reactive power mismatch. It is shown via investigation that islanding voltage is a function of real power alone, where its frequency is a function of both real and reactive power. Following this analysis, a robust anti-islanding algorithm is developed. The proposed algorithm continuously perturbs ($\pm$5%) the reactive power supplied by the DPGS while simultaneously monitoring the utility voltage and frequency. In the event of islanding, a measurable frequency deviation takes place, upon which the real power of the DPGS is further reduced to 80%. A drop in voltage positively confirms islanding and the DPGS is then safely disconnected. This method of control is shown to be robust: it is able to detect islanding under resonant loads and is also fast acting (operable in one cycle). Possible islanding conditions are simulated and verified through analysis. Experimental results on a 0.5kW fuel cell system connected to a utility grid are discussed.

Processes in the real-time distributed control systems share a network medium to exchange their data. Performance of feedback control loops in the real-time distributed control systems is subject to the network-induced delays from sensor to controller, and from controller to actuator. The network-induced delays are directly dependent upon the data sampling times of control components which share a network medium. In this study, an algorithm of determining data sampling times is developed using the "window concept". where the sampling datafrom the control components dynamically share a limited number of windows. The scheduling algorithm is validated through the aimulation experiments.
