  • Hundreds of millions of new posts and information are being uploaded and propagated everyday on Online Social Networks(OSN) like Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. This paper proposes and implements a GPS-location based SNS data mapping, analysis, and visualization system, called Smart SNS Map, which collects SNS data from Twitter and Instagram using hundreds of PlanetLab nodes distributed across the globe. Like no other previous systems, our system uniquely supports a variety of functions, including GPS-location based mapping of collected tweets and Instagram photos, keyword-based tweet or photo searching, real-time heat-map visualization of tweets and instagram photos, sentiment analysis, word cloud visualization, etc. Overall, a system like this, admittedly still in a prototype phase though, is expected to serve a role as a sort of social weather station sooner or later, which will help people understand what are happening around the SNS users, systems, society, and how they feel about them, as well as how they change over time and/or space.

  • In recent years, expansions and advances of the Internet of Things (IoTs) in a distributed MMOGs (massively multiplayer online games) architecture have resulted in massive growth of data in terms of server workloads. We propose a combing Sparse Autoencoder and one of platforms in MMOGs, ProGReGA. In the process of Sparse Autoencoder, data representation with respect to enhancing the feature is excluded from this set of data. In the process of load balance, the graceful degradation of ProGReGA can exploit the most relevant and less redundant feature of the data representation. We find out that the proposed algorithm have become more stable.

  • During wireless network operations, adaptive power control is an effective way to enhance the network performance. In this paper, a new online power control scheme is proposed based on the evolutionary game theory. To converge a desirable network equilibrium, the proposed scheme adaptively adjusts a transmit power level in a distributed online manner. With a simulation study, we demonstrate that the proposed scheme improves network performance under widely diverse network environments.

  • On the Internet age, the news is generated and distributed not only by traditional news media, but also by a variety of online news media, news platforms, content websites/content farms, and social media. Since it is an easy task to create and distribute news, some of these news reports may contain fake or false facts. In the end, the cyberspace is full of fake or false messages. People may wonder if these fake news actually influence our decision making. In this paper, we discussed a real case of fake news. In this case, a Taiwanese company used some fake news, advertorial news, and news placement to manipulate or influence its stock price and trade volume. We collected all news for the case company during a period of four years and five months (from January 2013 to May 2017). We analyzed the relationship between published news and stock price. Based on the analysis results, we conclude that we should not ignore the influence of news placement and fake business news on the stock price.

  • End-to-end network delay plays an vital role in distributed services. This delay is used to measure QoS (Quality-of-Service). It would be beneficial to know all node-pair delay information, but unfortunately it is not feasible in practice because the use of active probing will cause a quadratic growth in overhead. Alternatively, using the measured network delay to estimate the unknown network delay is an economical method. In this paper, we adopt the state-of-the-art matrix completion technology to better estimate the network delay from limited measurements. Although the number of measurements required for an exact matrix completion is theoretically bounded, it is practically less helpful. Therefore, we propose an online adaptive sampling algorithm to measure network delay in which statistical leverage scores are used to select potential matrix elements. The basic principle behind is to sample the elements with larger leverage scores to keep the traits of important rows or columns in the matrix. The amount of samples is adaptively decided by a proposed stopping condition. Simulation results based on real delay matrix show that compared with the traditional sampling algorithm, our proposed sampling algorithm can provide better performance (smaller estimation error and less convergence pressure) at a lower cost (fewer samples and shorter processing time).

  • Recently, with the advances in sensor techniques and net work computing, Ubiquitous Sensor Network (USN) has been received a lot of attentions from various communities. The sensor nodes distributed in the sensor network tend to continuously generate a large amount of data, which is called stream data. Sensor stream data arrives in an online manner so that it is characterized as high-speed, real-time and unbounded and it requires fast data processing to get the up-to-date results. The data stream has many application domains such as traffic analysis, physical distribution, U-healthcare and so on. Therefore, there is an overwhelming need of a USN middleware for processing such online stream data to provide corresponding services to diverse applications. In this paper, we propose a novel USN middleware which can provide users both context-aware service and meaningful sequential patterns. Our proposed USN middleware is mainly focused on location based applications which use stream location data. We also show the implementation of our proposed USN middleware. By using the proposed USN middleware, we can save the developing cost of providing context aware services and stream sequential patterns mainly in location based applications.

  • The study aims to identify Service Quality factors that affect purchase decision on Click and Collect service through the mediating variable of customer emotions at Mobile World stores in Ho Chi Minh City. This study employs a mixed methods research design. Data were collected through online self-completion questionnaire distributed to 316 customers who used to experience Click and Collect service at the Mobile World stores in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The theoretical model was tested through two-stage regression analysis (PATH model). The findings show that factors of service quality such as Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, Empathy, Tangibility, and Emotions affect the decision to purchase online and receive products directly at Mobile World stores in Ho Chi Minh City. Responsiveness and Assurance have a significant positive impact on the customer's emotions. Consequently, these factors should be considered and addressed when conducting multi-channel services. Obviously, employees must first be trained to be able to deliver the promise of the retailer to their customers. Based on the results of the study, the authors provide managerial implications for retailers in Vietnam in the multi-channel retail environment to develop Click and Collect at retail stores across the country and the world.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the structural relationship between Xiaohongshu service quality, emotional response perceived by users, and adhesion to confirm the impact on Xiaohongshu's adhesion at a time when non-face-to-face activities due to COVID-19 have increased. This study distributed and collected questionnaires from October 1st to October 7th, 2021, targeting 210 online shopping mall users. The research results were derived from a total of 206 questionnaires, excluding 4 questionnaires such as omission of record contents, and the causal relationship of the existing PAD model was attempted to be reported by revising and supplementing the existing PAD model. As a result of the study, first, it was confirmed that design among service quality had a positive effect only on ventilation during the user's emotional response. Second, it was confirmed that information among service quality had a positive effect on pleasure and ventilation among users' emotional responses. Third, it was found that security among service quality had a positive effect on pleasure among users' emotional responses. Finally, it was found that pleasure and ventilation had a positive effect on adhesion in the user's emotional response. Based on this result, it is expected that it will be used for operation on other online platforms than the plan for the development of Xiaohongshu.
