거리 측정 시스템의 정밀도 향상을 위한 카운터 회로의 설계 (Design of Counter Circuit for Improving Precision in Distance Measuring System)

  • 거리측정 시스템에서 사용되는 시간-디지털 변환회로는 시작신호와 멈춤신호 사이의 시간 간격을 이용하여 거리를 측정한다. 응답속도를 고려한 시간 간격은 일반적으로 카운터 회로를 이용하여 디지털 정보로 변환한다. 그러므로 정밀도 향상을 위해서는 높은 주파수의 클록 신호가 요구되며, 미세 거리의 측정을 위해서도 높은 주파수의 클록 신호가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 동일한 주파수를 사용하면서도 거리 측정의 정밀도를 높이기 위한 카운터 회로를 설계하였다. 회로의 설계는 0.18㎛ CMOS 공정을 이용하였으며, 설계된 회로의 동작은 HSPICE 시뮬레이션을 통하여 확인하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 일반적인 카운터 회로를 사용한 경우에 비해 4배의 향상된 정밀도를 얻을 수 있었다.

영상감시 시스템에서 평행식 스테레오 카메라를 이용한 다중 이동물체의 거리측정 (Distance Measurement of the Multi Moving Objects using Parallel Stereo Camera in the Video Monitoring System)

  • 본 논문은 평행식 스테레오 영상감시 시스템을 이용하여 3차원 공간에서 다중 이동물체를 검출하고, 카메라에서 이동 물체까지의 거리를 측정하는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 스테레오 영상감시 시스템의 좌, 우측 영상을 입력을 받아 적응형 임계값과 화소귀납 알고리즘(PRA, pixel recursive algorithm)을 사용하여 다중 이동물체 영역을 추출하였다. 그리고 각각의 물체영역을 윈도우 마스크로 검출하고, 다중 이동물체 각각의 위치좌표와 스테레오 시차를 구하였다. 이 시차와 스테레오 비전 시스템의 특성 및 삼각 함수를 이용하여 다중 이동물체의 거리를 측정하였다. 실험결과 거리측정 오차도 7.28%이내에 존재하였으며, 따라서 제안한 알고리즘을 이용하여 시스템을 구현할 경우 스테레오 방범 시스템, 자율 이동로봇 및 스테레오 원격제어 시스템 등에 응용될 수 있을 것이다.

차량 그림자를 이용한 주행 차량 검출 및 차간 거리 측정 (Driving Vehicle Detection and Distance Estimation using Vehicle Shadow)

  • 최근 차량 운전자들의 안전 운행을 보조하기 위해 운전자의 차량과 전방의 차량 간의 거리를 추정하고 안전거리 유무를 알려주기 위한 경보시스템이 개발되고 있다. 본 논문에서도 실제 도로 환경에서 전방의 주행 차량을 검출하여 차간 거리를 측정하고, 충돌 위험 상황을 감지하여 운전자에게 충돌 위험을 알리는 충돌경고시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다. 먼저 전방주시 카메라를 활용하여 촬영한 도로영상으로부터 도로와 차량에 해당하는 관심 영역을 추출하고, 관심 영역에서 전방 차량의 그림자 임계값 분석을 통해 전방 차량 객체를 추출한 후 전방 차량과의 거리를 계산하여 충돌 위험 경고를 알려준다. 주행 차량 검출 및 차간 거리 측정 결과를 기반으로 충돌경고시스템을 설계 및 구현하였으며, 실제 도로상황에 적용하여 실험한 결과 매우 높은 정확도를 나타내어 안전 운전에 대응할 수 있는 것으로 검증되었다.

  • The latest system of GIS has been changing from 2 dimension to 3 dimension. According to the rapid growth of the fields linked to 3D GIS, 3D GIS has variously affected the public field, the national defense field, and the industrial field. This study estimated sight distance safety of curve section considering the environmental impact based on 3D GIS. Sight distance is calculated from the relation between road which keeps the three-dimension character and driver gaze, so it needs to consider both plane and vertical ior the accurate measuring. This study made analysis of the sight distance through considering the environmental impact with driving simulation of design speed 80km/h and running speed 60-120km/h.

  • For double-circuit transmission line systems, an accurate digital distance relaying algorithm immune to the reactance effect is proposed. The apparent impedance calculated by the distance relay is influenced by the combined reactance effect of the fault resistance and the load current as well as the mutual coupling effect caused by the zero-sequence current of the adjacent parallel circuit. To compensate the magnitude and phase of the estimated impedance, this algorithm uses phase angle difference between the zero(positive) sequence of the both side of the system seperated by the fault point. The impedance measuring algorithm presented used a current distribution factor to compensate mutual coupling effect instead of the collected zero-sequence current of the adjacent parallel circuit.

  • A new detecting system for moving objects of coastal region has been designed by directional antenna and driving circuits. The designed system has been investigated by CAD for linear and planar antenna arrays of various radiating elements for antenna simulations and by P-spice of device simulations. For detecting the displacement of moving objects, we constructed four wideband dipole antenna, diode switching circuit, mixer, filter and amplifier. The results of antenna receiver were shown a possibility of distance measuring system through phase difference of radiation patterns in antenna simulation

Design of an Absolute Location and Position Measuring System for a Mobile Robot

  • This paper focuses on a development of a sensor system measuring locations of a vehicle to localize a mobile robot while it tracks on the track (location sensor) . Also it focuses on a system configuration identifying the vehicle's orientation and distance from the object while it is stationary at certain station (position sensor) . As for the location sensor it consists of a set of sensors with a combined guiding and counting sensor, and an address-coded sensor to localize the vehicle while moving on the rail. For the position sensor a PSD (Position Sensitive Device) sensor with photo-switches sensor to measure the offset and orientation of the vehicle at each station is introduced. Both sensor systems are integrated with a microprocessor as a data relay to the main computer controlling the vehicle. The location sensor system is developed and its performance for a mobile robot is verified by experiments. The position measuring system is proposed and is robust to the environmental variation. Moreover, the two kinds of sensor systems guarantee a low cost application and high reliability.

  • The GPS(global positioning system) made up of 28 artificial satellites going round around the earth at a height of 20,000.Km is a system to determine the receiver's location by measuring the distance between the satellite and receivers using an electronic wave. Recently it's been widely used in various applications, such as a navigator, a surveying system, etc. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm to transform coordinates from GPS signals corresponding to various sizes of maps, and the application using this algorithm is also introduced. The algorithm is programmed by MFC on the WinCE 5.0 operating system, and the GPS receiver with a 20 channel high sensitivity and GPS microcontroller chip manufactured by SiRF Technology was used.

  • This paper reveals a distance estimation algorithm based on multi-code ultrasonic and wireless sensor network. For measuring the distances among the sensor nodes, each ultrasonic transmitter transmits multi-code ultrasonic signal simultaneously. Receivers use cross correlation method to separate the coded signals. The information of measured distances is broadcasted to each sensor node by wireless sensor network. The wireless sensor network measures the distance among the sensor nodes using the received signal strength of the broadcasting. The multi-code ultrasonic have a limitation of measurable distance. And the received signal strength is affected from an environment. This paper measures a distance using ultrasonic and a received signal strength in short range. These measured data are applied to the least square estimation algorithm. By the expansion of the fitting curve, a distance measurement in long range using the received signal strength is compensated. The coupled system reduce the error to an acceptable level.

초음파 이용 거리측정을 위한 센서 개발에 관한 연구 (Study on the Development of Sensors for Distance Measure Using Ultrasonic)

  • In this paper, we report a novel algorithm based on phase displacement, which supplements conventional TOF methods for distance measurement using an ultrasonic wave. The proposed algorithm roughly measures the distance between the transmission part and the receiving part by using the initial TOF. Thereafter, the precise distance is determined by measuring the phase displacement value between the synchronizing transmission signal and the signal obtained at the receiving end. A distance measurement experiment using a micrometer was performed to verify the accuracy of the ultrasonic wave sensor system. We found that the mean errors from the one adopting the distance measurement algorithm based on phase displacement varied from a minimum of 0.03 mm to a maximum of 0.09 mm. In addition, the standard deviation varied from a minimum of 0.04 mm to a maximum of 0.07 mm, thus giving a precision of ${\pm}0.1$ mm.
