거리역자승(距離逆自承)의 법칙(法則)에 관(關)한 검사(檢討) (An Experimental Study of the Inverse Square Law)

  • Generally the inverse square law (ISL) is applied by use of intensity scale method, that is distance scale method, when we practice sensitometry of X-ray film. It was reported that the failure of the ISL had occurred in the many experiments. Thus authors obtained some conclusions of the exponent value of distance by use of dosimeter and fluorescence meter in the range of tube voltage 60 - 120 kvp, that is the range of diagnostic energy. Those conclusions were as follows its exponents were produced as 2.1383 - 2.1763 in dosimeter, as 2.1190-2.2152 in fluorescence meter. This revealed that the perfect ISL was failded and that numerical differences were shown in each measurem apparatus. Therefore it is need to study the exponent at each tube voltage for the precise supply of fixed quantity on the characteristic curve's horizontal axis.

용접부 건전성 평가를 위한 카오럴 후처리 시스템의 구축 (Construction of Chaoral Post-Process System for Integrity Evaluation of Weld Zone)

  • This study proposes the analysis and evaluation method of time series ultrasonic signal using the chaoral post-process system for precision rate enhancement of ultrasonic pattern recognition. Chaos features extracted from time series data for analysis quantitatively weld defects For this purpose, feature extraction objectives in this study are fractal dimension, Lyapunov exponent, shape of strange attrator. Trajectory changes in the strange attractor indicated that even same type of defects carried substantial difference in chaoticity resulting from distance shifts such as nearby 0.5, 1.0 skip distance. Such difference in chaoticity enables the evaluation of unique features of defects in the weld zone. In quantitative chaos fenture extraction, feature values of 0.835 and 0.823 in the case of slag inclusion and 0.609 and 0.573 in the case of crack were suggested on the basis of fractal dimension and Lyapunov exponent. Proposed chaoral post-process system in this study can enhances precision rate of ultrasonic pattern recognition results from defect signals of weld zone, such as slag inclusion and crack.

물체의 크기와 이동거리에 따른 속도감 변화 (The Effects of Object Size and Travel Distance on Human Speed Perception)

  • Human perceptional speed is different from its real speed. There is lack of research that the perceptional speed is different from real speed in 2-dimension, because most research of speed perception has concentrated on points and lines. This research investigates the effects of object size on speed perception. In this research, we used 2-D circular objects of the different size, 0.9, 1.8 and $3.6^{\circ}$. The objects moved 9.0, 13.5 and $18.0^{\circ}$ with three different speeds, 6.0, 9.0 and $18.0^{\circ}$/s. Six participants were exposed to the environment with standard scene(size: $1.8^{\circ}$, speed: $9.0^{\circ}$/s and travel distance: $13.5^{\circ}$). After the first scene, another scene in which the object had changed to different sizes, speeds and distances, was shown to the participants. A magnitude estimation method was used to construct a scale of the perceived speed level. The relationship between the perceived and the actual speed level was explained by Stevens's power law that the value was 0.978 with the exponent of 0.992. The size of object had an effect on the speed perception but travel distance was not. The perceptional speed of bigger object was lower than of smaller object. It showed that the degrees of perceptional speed decreased as size of object increased.

거리와 고도의 지수를 구분한 수정거리고도비율법의 분석 (Analysis of Modified Distance-and-Elevation Ratio Method with Different Exponents of Distance and Elevation)

  • 결측 강수량을 보완하기 위한 방법으로 사용되고 있는 거리고도비율법에 포함되어 있는 거리와 고도차의 지수는 동일하게 제곱으로 고정되어 있으나 본 연구에서는 이 두 개의 지수를 각각 분리하여 분석하였다. 적용 사례로 한강 유역에 있는 평창을 기준 관측소로 하고 주변에 있는 5개 지표 관측소(방림, 수주, 청옥산, 진부, 영월1)의 10년(2004~2013년) 간 326개 시우량에 적용한 결과 적합한 거리와 고도의 지수 값은 각각 3.7, 0.57로 나타났다. 수정거리고도비율법의 거리와 고도의 지수는 결측 보완 또는 보간을 필요로 하는 위치의 지형공간적인 특성에 따라 맞게 적용해야 한다.

An RSS-Based Localization Scheme Using Direction Calibration and Reliability Factor Information for Wireless Sensor Networks

  • In the communication channel, the received signal is affected by many factors that can cause errors. These effects mean that received signal strength (RSS) based methods incur more errors in measuring distance and consequently result in low precision in the location detection process. As one of the approaches to overcome these problems, we propose using direction calibration to improve the performance of the RSS-based method for distance measurement, and sequentially a weighted least squares (WLS) method using reliability factors in conjunction with a conventional RSS weighting matrix is proposed to solve an over-determined localization process. The proposed scheme focuses on the features of the RSS method to improve the performance, and these effects are proved by the simulation results.

TETRA 기반 고속철도 열차무선의 전파 경로손실 특성 (Path Loss Characteristics of TETRA-based KTX Train Radio Propagation)

  • 경부고속철도 2단계 구간에 도입된 열차무선시스템은 TETRA 기반으로 851MHz 대의 주파수를 사용하고 있다. 이와 같은 열차무선시스템에서 운행중인 차량과 지상과의 끊임없는 정보송수신을 위하여 전파 경로손실을 감안한 기지국 설계가 필수적이다. 본논문에서는 고속철도 선로에서의 측정데이터를 토대로, 열차무선의 전파 경로손실을 정량적으로 분석하였다. 열차무선 기지국 설계에서는 자유공간 전파 경로손실모델 및 Okumura-Hata모델이 사용되고 있는데, 이 모델들에 의한 예측치는 현장측정치보다 10dB 이상 작거나 20dB 이상 크게 나타남에 따라 고속철도 열차무선의 경로손실 예측에는 적합하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 측정결과를 log-distance 경로손실모델에 적용하여 회귀분석을 수행한 결과 경로손실지수는 2.8~3.2의 범위로 나타났으며, 이 결과는 향후 고속철도 열차무선에서의 전파경로손실 예측에 적용할 수 있다.

  • The purpose of the present study is to investigate the microstructural effect on the R-curve behavior in three aluminas with different grain size distributions by analyzing the bridging stress distribution. The crack opening displacement (COD) according to the distance behind the stationary crack tip was measured using an in situ SEM fracture method. The measured COD values in the fine-grained alumina agreed well with Wiederhorn's sollution while they deviated from Wiederhorn's solution in the two coarse-grained aluminas because of the increase of the crack closure due to the grain interface bridging in the crack wake. A numerical fitting procedure was conducted by the introduction of the power-law relation and the current theoretical model together with the measured COD's in order to obtain the bridging stress distribution. The results indicated that the bridging stress function and the R-curve computed by the current model were consistent with those computed by the power-law relation providing a reliable evidence for the bridging stress analysis of the current model. The strain-softening exponent in the power-law relation n, was calculated to be in the range from 2 to 3 and was closely related to the grain size distribution. Thus it was concluded from the current theoretical model that the grain size distribution affected greatly the bridging stress distribution thereby resulting in the quantitative analysis of microfracture of polycrystalline aluminas through correlating the local-fracture-cont-rolling microstructure.

지하철 터널 환경에서 2.65GHz 대역신호의 경로손실 특성 (Path Loss Characteristics in Subway Tunnel at 2.65GHz)

  • 본 논문에서는 측정을 통해 지하철 터널환경에서 위성 DMB 상용주파수 대역인 2.65 GHz 신호의 전파특성을 분석하였다. 다양한 터널 구조에 따른 경로손실 특성을 분석하기 위해 직선터널과 곡선터널 및 직선, 곡선구간이 함께 존재하는 혼합터널 내에서 수신 전력을 측정하였다. 측정을 수행한 모든 터널의 가시영역 경로손실 지수-는 $1.31{\sim}2.19$로서, 실외 셀룰라 환경의 경로손실 지수$(3{\sim}4)$와 비교했을 때 터널의 가시영역은 신호의 감쇄가 매우 적은 채널환경임을 알 수 있었다. 직선터널과 곡률반경이 500m, 200m인 두 곡선터널 비가시 영역의 경로 손실 지수는 각각 1.94, 2.92, 4.34로서 곡률반경이 작을수록 경로손실이 급격하게 발생하는 현상을 확인할 수 있었다. 한편 혼합터널의 곡선구간에 대한 경로손실 지수는 5.88로서 동일한 곡률반경을 갖는 곡선터널의 경로손실 지수 4.34 보다 큰 값을 보였다. 이를 통해 터널 환경에서의 경로손실 지수는 곡률 반경뿐만 아니라 송신기와 비가시영역 사이에 존재하는 가시영역의 거리에도 영향을 받는다는 사실을 알 수 있었다.

A Received Signal Strength-based Primary User Localization Scheme for Cognitive Radio Sensor Networks Using Underlay Model-based Spectrum Access

  • For cognitive radio sensor networks (CRSNs) that use underlay-based spectrum access, the location of the primary user (PU) plays an important role in the power control of the secondary users (SUs), because the SUs must keep the minimum interference level required by the PU. Received signal strength (RSS)-based localization schemes provide low-cost implementation and low complexity, thus it is suitable for the PU localization in CRSNs. However, the RSS-based localization schemes have a high localization error because they use an inexact path loss exponent (PLE). Thus, applying a RSS-based localization scheme into the PU localization would cause a high interference to the PU. In order to reduce the localization error and improve the channel reuse rate, we propose a RSS-based PU localization scheme that uses distance calibration for CRSNs using underlay model-based spectrum access. Through the simulation results, it is shown that the proposed scheme can provide less localization error as well as more spectrum utilization than the RSS-based PU localization using the mean and the maximum likelihood calibration.

분산 자율 이동 로봇 시스템의 협조 지능 및 카오스 행동의 연구 (A Study on Cooperative Intelligece and Chaotic Behaviors of Distributed Autonomuos Mobile Robot Systems)

  • 자율 이동 로봇군은 분산된 자기 조직의 동일 규칙하에 주어진 과제를 수행하는로봇의 집단을 말한다. 본 논문에서는 협조 행동을 위한 수행 과제로서 등간격 원을 형성하게 하였다. 여기서, 이를 수행하기 위한 알고리듬을 고안하였고 여기에 퍼지 시스템을 사용하여 알고리듬을 보완하였다. 이 알고리듬을 가지고 사뮬레이션을 통해 다양한 협조 행동 양식이 나타남을 알수 있으며 특히 이동 속도롤 증가 시켰을 때 카오틱 현상이 일어남을 알 수 있다. 그리고 리아프노프 지수를 계산하여 이 카오스 현상의 특성을 증명하였다.
