  • It is common practice to display high-quality video images on the large display among the methods of developing tourist attractions and culture in the region as experience contents differentiation is required. This paper combines the local attractions with the OLED dual layer display system and the extended image implementation and augmented interaction technique to give the experiencer a realistic space, such as directing to new experiences and beautiful sights. In this paper, we added UI layer to additional layers of images to enable users to experience sightseeing information, weather, maps, accommodation, festivals and photo materials with images. It is implemented to add fun through interlocking. We also developed transparent OLED and dual layer panel and 3-channel multi-image playback technique.

  • Various manufacturing methods are analyzed by using manufacturing metrics to validate which method would be applicable to flexible microelectronics. Among others, Roll-to-Roll method is revealed to inherently have an excessive WIP resulting in long cycle time and limited diversity as well as low equipment efficiency.

  • PDP(plasma display panel)is expected to be the standard of the next generation display devices. However, there is a serious problem. That is disturbances are occasionally observed in gray scales and colors when moving images are displayed on PDP. Various methods have been presented to reduce these disturbances. But the picture quality of PDP is not yet sufficient. We developed optimized-modified binary coded light emission scheme. Simulated result show the improving image quality. Also we have simulated and estimated various proposed methods.

  • Large area flicker is one of the most annoying image defects, and it is an inherent characteristic of impulsively driven displays such as CRTs. Recently, LCDs have also adopted impulsive driving methods for improved motion picture quality, therefore LCDs can also show large area flicker. Existing metrics do not account for the non-linearity of human brightness perception. This paper presents an improved large area flicker metric to more accurately quantify large area display flicker performance.

  • In this paper we present work done by Kodak Graphic-Communications-Group and our partners demonstrating applications where laser direct imaging could replace photolithography in display manufacturing. Such applications range from direct manufacturing (e.g. LCD color-filters) to producing “masters” where manufacturing is done by traditional printing methods (e.g. flexography, Gravure-printing).

  • In recent years, the use of high-resolution tiled display system which does not have restrictions on the size of the screen and implements various layout of tile is increasing in order to evaluate the digital mock-up in physical scale or explore large engineering data set in detail. In this study, we developed multi-channel distributed visualization system which provides a virtual reality-based visual contents using 3D open-source graphics engine. Efficient data structures and exchange methods were proposed as a scene synchronization technology in PC cluster environments. DLP-Cube based tiled visualization system which provides $5{\times}2$ layout of display wall was developed and we validated our approach using this system. In addition, we introduced integrated control program that administrates PC cluster environment in remote and controls the layout of display channels.

  • The image processing methods are widely used in many industrial fields to detect defections in inspection devices. In this study an image processing method was conducted for the detection of abnormal pixels in a OLED(Organic Light Emitting Diode) type panel which is used for small size displays. The display quality of an OLED device is dependent on the pixel formation quality. So, among the so many pixels, to find out the faulty pixels is very important task in manufacturing processing or inspection division. We used a line scanning type BW(Black & White) camera which has very high resolution characteristics to acquire an image of display pixel patterns. And the various faulty cases in pixel abnormal patterns are considered to detect abnormal pixels. From the results of the research, the normal BW pixel image could be restored to its original color pixel.

  • The display of biological signals in raster scan monitors often involves a multirate sampling operation which consists of decimation .and interpolation. All electroencephalouaphic (EEG) samples of 10 to 30 seconds (2, 500 to 7, 500 samples at 250[Hz] sampling frequency) must be displayed in the computer screen to keep the aspect ratio of the paper polygraph output. Since the current afrorclable display technology Plots at most 2, 000 Pixels Per row, sDme signal samples need to be discarde4 This Paper studies methods to perform this operation characterizing them from the signal processing viewpoint and compares the display quality among several decimation techniques. Experimental results show that a nonlinear operation such as the peak detection method could be preferable to the canonical linear filtering to reduce aliasing.

  • We propose the method which is possible to fabricate the electrodes with the fine pattern and low resistance by photolithography and electroplating. The widths of pattern fabricated were 30, 50, 70 and 100um and the thickness could be up to $10{\mu}m$. The resistivity of the copper electrode electroplated was below $2.0{\mu}{\Omega}$ cm which is about half of photosensitive silver electrode. Dielectric layer was coated on the electrodes by screen printing and the pores harmful to the discharge were not formed after heat treatment. In the viewpoint of resistance and patterning, this method has much higher potential for large area display than other methods like screen printing, photosensitive conductive paste method and sputtering.

  • The commercialization of an active matrix e-reader display using E Ink microencapsulated electrophoretic (MEP) ink marked a big step towards comfortable reading over an extended period of time in an electronic book, as the high resolution display, jointly realized by Philips, E Ink and Toppan, has a true paper-like look and feel. Alternative electrophoretic material systems are being developed by SiPix and Bridgestone and progress has been made in the past two years. In this paper, electrophoretic material systems are briefly reviewed, after which the perspectives and challenges of electrophoretic displays are addressed and methods for generating gray tones are presented and discussed.
