디스크형 압전 변압기의 전기적 특성 (Electric Characteristics of Disk-type Piezoelectric Transformer)

  • In this study, a step-down piezoelectric transformer was fabricated to utilize as an adapter for charging batteries of mobile electronic appliances. The ceramic part of the transformer is $Pb[(Mn_{1/3}Sb_{2/3})_{_0.05}Zr_{0.475}Ti_{0.475}]O_3$ with mechanical quality factor of 1600, electromechanical coupling coefficient $59\%$, and piezoelectric constant $d_{33}$ 1300, which can be utilized as a piezoelectric transformer. A simply fabricated disk-typed test pattern of diameter 28 mm and thickness 2 mm was used to characterize output voltage, step-down ratio as a function of electrode area with the input remained constant, and power, efficiency as a function of input voltage, and temperature-dependent electric characteristics were evaluated. The sample APT1 showed the best properties. The highest admittance, effective electromechanical coupling coefficient and an appropriate mechanical quality factor were obtained at the sample with the input/output area ratio of 1:1.5 at the common electrode, and the condition of 20 $V_{rms}$, $50\;\Omega$ made the maximum efficiency of $95\%$. The temperature was increased by 14.7'E as the input voltage was increased for $50\;V_{rms},\;50\;\Omega$.

Borate 완충용액에서 니켈 회전원판전극의 부식과 부동화 (Corrosion and Passivation of Nickel Rotating Disk Electrode in Borate Buffer Solution)

  • 변전위법과 전기화학 임피던스 측정법을 이용하여 borate 완충용액에서 니켈 회전원판전극의 전기화학적 부식과 부동화를 연구하였다. Tafel 기울기, 임피던스, 회전원판전극의 회전속도, 그리고 부식전위와 부식전류의 pH 의존성으로부터 니켈의 부식과 부동화 반응 메커니즘과 환원반응에서의 수소 발생 반응구조를 제안하였다. EIS data로부터 등가회로를 제안하였으며 산화반응의 영역별로 전기화학적 변수들을 측정하였다. 부동화 반응에 의하여 생성된 $Ni(OH)_2$ 산화피막은 전기장의 영향을 받는 탈수반응에 의해 NiO로 전환되는 것으로 보인다.

Electrochemical Studies on the Reaction of Superoxide Ion with Halocarbons in Aprotic Media

  • The reactivity of superoxide ion($O{_2}^{-.}$) with halogenated substrates is investigated by cyclic voltammetry and rotated ring-disk electrode method in aprotic solvents. The more positive the reduction potential of the substituted nitrile, the more facile is nucleophilic displacement by $O{_2}^{-.}$. The reaction rates of halogenonitriles with $O{_2}^{-.}$ vary according to the leaving-group propensity of halide (Br>Cl>F). The relative reaction rates of other substituted nitriles are in the order of electron-withdrawing propensity of the substituent group (CN> $C(O)NH_2$ >Ph, $CH_2CN$). The reaction of $O{_2}^{-.}$ with dihalocarbons indicates that five-membered rings can be rapidly formed by the cyclization of substrate and $O{_2}^{-.}$, and the relative rates of cyclization depend on the number of methylenic carbons {$Br(CH_2)_nBr$, [n=1<2<3>4>5]}. Mechanisms are proposed for the reaction of $O{_2}^{-.}$ with halogenated substrates.

광디스크용 마이크로미러의 설계 및 제작에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design and Fabrication for the Micro-Mirror of Optical Disk System)

  • Optical disk drives read information by replacing a laser beam on the disk track. As information has become larger, the more accurate position control of a laser beam is necessary. In this paper, we report the analysis and fabrication of the micro mirror for optical disk drivers. A coupled simulation of gas flow and structural displacement of the micro mirror using the Finite-Element-Method is applied to this. The mirror was fabricated by using MEMS technology. Especially, the process using the lapping and polishing step after the bonding of the mirror and electrode plates was employed for the Process reliability. The mirror size was 2.5mm${\times}$3mm and it needed about 35V for displacement of 3.2 ${\mu}$.

경사 전극 배열을 이용한 각도방향 마이크로 구동부 제작 (Skewed Electrode Array(SEA) and Its Application as an Angular Microactuator)

  • The angular electrostatic microactuator using skewed electrode array (SEA) scheme was proposed. The moving and fixed electrodes are arranged to make the driving force perpendicular to the rotating moment of arm. By changing the electrode overlap length, the magnitude of electrostatic force and stable displacement will be changed. In order to optimize the design, electrostatic FE analysis were carried out and the empirical force model was established for SEA. Simulation was performed to make the comparison between conventional actuators and SEA. The proposed SEA generates actuating torque 2 times greater than a comb-drive and stable actuator displacement 40% greater than a parallel plate type actuator. The angular electrostatic microactuator using skewed SEA scheme was designed and fabricated using SoG process.

  • Fluoride compound potentiometric cell oxygen sensors were fabricated for the measurement of oxygen pressure in the low temperature range (300。K-500。K). The disk type sensors consist of a reference Air(0$_2$):Ag, a solid electrolyte SrF$_2$, and a sensing metel Ag electrode. And the buried reference electrode type sensor have a NiO/Ni reference electrode. The open circuit emf of the cell showed high sensivity to oxygen gas (60mv) at the measuring temperature 20$0^{\circ}C$. Also, The buried reference electrode type sensor showed 30mv from 1% to 10% oxygen pressure range.

고체 고분자 연료전지용 비백금계 산소환원촉매 조성 조사 및 분석 (Composition Survey and Analysis of Non-Pt Oxygen Reduction Catalysts for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells)

  • 다양한 응용분야에서 활용될 수 있는 고체고분자연료전지의 경우 현재 상용화에 가장 큰 걸림돌이 되고 있는 것이 고가의 백금 촉매이다. 따라서 특히 최근 들어 산소환원반응에서 백금을 대체하는 물질을 개발하기 위한 연구가 전세계적으로 확산되고 있다. 그러나 촉매 개발 시 경제성 관점 외에 내구성도 고려해야 하는데, 이런 관점에서 백금과 유사한 물성과 활성이 기대되는 백금족 원소들이 한 대안이 될 것이다. 가장 백금과 유사한 물성, 활성을 나타내는 팔라듐과 칼코겐화물 형태의 루테늄이 지금까지 가장 많이 연구가 되었으며 상대적으로 이리듐, 로듐, 오스뮴은 산소환원 촉매로 많은 연구가 되지 않았다. RDE (rotating disk electrode)를 이용한 반쪽전지 실험이나 연료전지 MEA (membrane electrode assembly) 운전을 통하여 백금과 활성을 비교해보면 팔라듐 계열의 비백금 촉매가 가장 백금에 가까운 활성을 나타내고 있음을 알 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 각 백금족 원소들 기반의, 현재까지 문헌상으로 보고된 촉매조성들을 분석하여 비백금 산소환원 촉매 개발에 도움이 되고자 한다.

Electrocatalysis of Oxygen Reduction by Au Nanoparticles Electrodeposited on Polyoxometalate-Modified Electrode Surfaces

  • The effect of polyoxometalate monolayers on the electrodeposition of Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) on glassy carbon (GC) surfaces was examined by electrochemical and scanning electron microscope techniques. The presence of $SiMo_{12}O^{4-}_{40}$-layers resulted in average particle sizes of ca. 60 nm, which is larger than AuNPs deposited on bare GC surfaces. AuNPs electrodeposited on $SiMo_{12}O^{4-}_{40}$-modified GC surfaces for 20 s exhibited the best electrocatalytic activity for oxygen reduction. This system exhibited similar or slightly better efficiency for oxygen reduction than a bare Au electrode. Rotating disk electrode experiments were also performed and revealed that the catalytic reduction of oxygen on AuNPs deposited on $SiMo_{12}O^{4-}_{40}$-modified GC electrodes is a two-electron process.
