TiO2 또는 MgO 첨가에 따른 마이크로 유전격벽방전 셀의 방전특성 연구 (A Study on the Discharge Characteristics of Micro Dielectric Barrier Discharge Cells by Adding TiO2 or MgO Powder)

  • For a higher definition discharge cell, the method of high speed addressing is necessary. In order to modify the surface charges, the liquefied $TiO_2$ or MgO powder is added on MgO layer in front glass and on the phosphor in rear glass in micro barrier discharge. Both the electro-optical properties and the discharge time lag characteristics are measured from 4 inch. test panel, such as the discharge voltage, current, luminance, luminous efficacy and discharge time lag. As the results, the statistic time lag is improved by about 40 %.

  • The surface discharge type ac plasma display panel(ac PDP) is a flat display devices using gas discharge. In ac PDP, parallel electrodes covered with dielectric layer are on a substrates. The discharge current characteristics are affected by cell structure. In this study, the relationship between the principal design factor and discharge characteristics is discussed, based on experiment, and the current waveform is measured by voltage detector and storage O.S.C. as a parameter of design factor, e.g., electrode gap and width.

  • AC PDP with surface micro discharge has a structure that all discharge electrodes are arranged on the front glass panel, and the rear glass panel merely serves as a cover glass to form the micro discharge space. The relationships between the dischage voltage and the structure among such as electrode width, distance between electrodes, discharge space gap, and dielectric layer width are investigated.

The effect of the cell size on the discharge characteristics of a plasma display panel

  • In this study, plasma display panels with three different cell volumes were prepared by changing the spaces between the vertical barrier ribs into two and three times the reference structure. The discharge gap and area of the segmented ITO electrode were the same for the three cases, and Ne.20%Xe gas was used. The luminance and luminance efficiency were measured using applied voltage variations. The time evolution and intensity distribution of the infrared, which are related to the vacuum ultraviolet, were observed via intensified, charged, coupled device, and the visible-light intensity profiles were observed using PR-900 to analyze the discharge phenomena in the discharge cell.

  • Formation of the nickel-cadmium alloy in the negative electrode of nickel-cadmium cell subjected to continuous charging at elevated temperatures ($40~45^{\circ}C$) is shown to be one of the causes of the 'stepped' discharge curves. The alloy has been characterized by electrode potential measurement and X-ray diffraction method. The potential lowering during discharge is related to discharge of the alloy. X -ray diffraction suggests that the nickel-cadmium alloy can be formed during charge in negative electrode by interaction of the two metals. Addition of Ni $(OH)_2$ into $Cd{\;}(OH)_2$ active material is found to form the alloy more readily than sintered negative electrode alone.ode alone.

  • In general, for the condition monitoring of a power transformer using the UHF PD measuring technique, detection of any partial discharge, identifying the defect in the transformer and locating the insulation defect are necessary. In this paper one of the most frequent detects which can result in turn to turn fault in power transformer was examined for identifying the defect. In order to model the defect, as a discharge source, a partial discharge cell was used for experimental activity. Magnitude of electromagnetic wave signals and corresponding amount of apparent discharge were measured simultaneously against phase of applied voltage to the discharge cell. Frequency range and phase resolved partial discharge signals were measured and analyzed. The results will be contributed to build the defect database of power transformer and to decrease the occurrence of transformer faults.

  • The purpose of this study is to research and develop $Li_xV_3O_8$ composite cathode for lithium polymer battery. We investigated electrochemical, interfacial properties and charge/discharge cycling of $Li_xV_3O_8$/SPE/Li cell. The radius of semicircle associated with the interfacial resistance of $Li_xV_3O_8$/SPE/Li cell increased very slowly during discharge process from 100% SOC to 90% SOC. And then the cell resistance was increased at discharge process from 10% SOC to 0% SOC. The discharge capacity based on $Li_xV_3O_8$ was 212mAh/g at 15th cycle. The $Li_xV_3O_8$/SPE/Li cell has a good properties.

온도조건에 따른 아연-공기 전지의 전기화학적 특성 (Effect of Temperature Conditions on Electrochemical Properties for Zinc-Air Batteries)

  • A zinc-air battery consists of a zinc anode, an air cathode, an electrolyte, and a separator. The active material of the positive electrode is oxygen contained in the ambient air. Therefore, zinc-air batteries have an open cell configuration. The external condition is one of the main factors for zinc-air batteries. One of the most important external conditions is temperature. To confirm the effect of temperature on the electrochemical properties of zinc-air batteries, we perform various analyses under different temperatures. Under 60 ℃ condition, the zinc-air cell shows an 84.98 % self-discharge rate. In addition, high corrosion rate and electrolyte evaporation rate are achieved at 60 ℃. Among the cells stored at various temperature conditions, the cell stored at 50 ℃ delivers the highest discharge capacity; it also shows the highest self-discharge rate (65.33 %). On the other hand, the cell stored at 30 ℃ shows only 2.28 % self-discharge rate.

  • The battery industries have been developed to the implementation of lithium ion secondary cell from the cell of Ni/Cd and Ni/MH in the past to be asked of an age of high technology from low technology. Also in resent the polymeric cell to get a good high function with an age of new advanced information system is changed from the 21 century to the secondary batteries society. The properties of lithium secondary batteries have the high energy density, the long cycle time, the low self discharge area and the high active voltage. The wanted properties of secondary batteries for the motion of an apparatuses of industries of an high skill age have a small type trend of the energy density and it is become with a strong asking of the industrial society market about the storable medium of the convenience and new power energy. The electrochemical properties is researched for the cell to be synthesised and crystallized the positive active material LiMnO2 of the secondary cell at 9250C to get a new improved data of the electric discharge for that the capacitance of the LiMnO2 thin film that is improving and researching with the properties and a merit and demerit in the this kind of asking.

  • Effects of delay and panel temperature on the discharge time lag and the controllability of weak discharge mode were studied under single cell driving circumstances of ac PDP. It was found that sufficient number of priming particle is necessary for inducing weak discharge in ramp voltage driving. Discharge time lag was reduced dramatically under elevated panel temperature condition It is speculated that decrement of discharge time lag at the high temperature is related to the reduction of diffusion loss of charged particles during the after glow.
