  • Voice Command systems are important means of ensuring accessibility to digital devices for use in situations where both hands are not free or for people with disabilities. Interests in services using speech recognition technology have been increasing. In this study, we developed a mobile writing application using voice recognition and voice command technology which helps people create and edit documents easily. This application is characterized by the minimization of the touch on the screen and the writing of memo by voice. We have systematically designed a mode to distinguish voice writing and voice command so that the writing and execution system can be used simultaneously in one voice interface. It provides a shortcut function that can control the cursor by voice, which makes document editing as convenient as possible. This allows people to conveniently access writing applications by voice under both physical and environmental constraints.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the caregiving stress and depression of spouses who support adults with physical disabilities, calculate the activity of daily living (ADL) of the disabled and determine the correlation of each area and the influence of their ADL on the caregiving stress and depression of spouses. This study was performed on 86 spouses of the disabled who were receiving rehabilitation treatment in two hospitals located in S and K cities from July to August 2016. According to the results, the total caregiving stress scores were $71.43{\pm}17.78$ and the economic and psychological stresses among low items were higher than the other items. The total depression score was $50.34{\pm}26.41$, which was slightly higher than the average of normal adults. The caregiving stress and depression were high for aged women, for cases of high caregiving expense and time, for young disabled and for stroke disease. Factors that affected the caregiving stress were the age of the disabled and the duration of their disability; their ADL had no influence on the caregiving stress. The result showed that the depression affected their age, disabled type and grade, and ADL. Actual policy support capable of giving economic, physical, and psychological assistance should be prepared to reduce caregiving stress and depression.

As a result of the analysis, first, the disability acceptance and job satisfaction at the previous time point of the disabled workers were stably significant to the disability acceptance(𝛽=.556~.610) and job satisfaction(𝛽=.554~.585) at the later time point. Second, disability acceptance at the previous point in time for wage workers with disabilities crosses the job satisfaction at the later time point(𝛽=.077~.090), and the job satisfaction at the previous point crosses the disability acceptance at the later time point(𝛽=.087~.092). Third, as a result of model fit analysis according to the gender group of wage workers with disabilities, the difference in the autoregressive effect between disability acceptance and job satisfaction and the cross-lagged effect between disability acceptance and job satisfaction according to the passage of time was not significant.

  • We have heard about several keywords of the fourth industrial revolution such as automation, artificial intelligence and connectivity. And electronic publishing systems and ebooks will enable us to experience a new industrial revolution without discrimination. On that level, it is necessary to study a method of automatic accessibility tool for electronic publishing. There are some studies on accessibility standard specifications, accessibility guidelines, and accessibility certificate criteria. but there is little research about automatic inspection tools in electronic publishing area. This paper proposed a library for accessibility inspector of EPUB and its components based on IDPF EPUB accessiblity guidelines and TTA accessibility certificate criteria for reading disabled people. After implementing the library that can be connected to SIGIL, which is the most widely used in Korea, we verified its functionality and its coverage with Korean commercial EPUB files.

  • This study examined students' menu preferences as well as the job satisfaction and specific considerations concerning foodservice operation of dieticians and nutrition teachers at special schools for the disabled. Semi-structured interview questionnaires were sent to all of the 21 special schools with direct school food service in Gyeonggi-do, and 16 dieticians and nutrition teachers agreed to participate in this study. Among the various menu groups, the subjects perceived the meat group as the most preferred and the vegetable group the least preferred. They were generally satisfactory with their job and duty, and had a strong sense of belonging to the school. However, most of them answered that they needed more time for nutritional education and counseling. While most had pride and pleasure in their job, they expressed a desire to change the system to better fit with their roles as professional nutritionists. The content analysis revealed that the subjects mainly focused on safety issues in planning the food menu and were thus limited in selecting menu items. They also felt difficulty in menu planning due to various tastes and preferences, since special schools tend to consist of a wider grade range. However, most subjects reported little trouble in food distribution and food leftovers owing to practical support from teachers and parents. The necessity for education concerning table manners and obesity prevention was generally a shared opinion, and education programs for parents were also perceived as necessary to better understand the special considerations for developing proper eating habits in their child. The study findings provide useful basic data to improve the foodservice system at special schools.

  • Objectives : The objectives of this study were to estimate the continuity of care for all Koreans with diabetes and to identify factors affecting the continuity of care. Methods : We obtained National Health Insurance claims data for patients with diabetes who visited health-care providers during the year 2004. A total of 1,498,327 patients were included as study subjects. Most Frequent Provider Continuity (MFPC) and Modified, Modified Continuity Index (MMCI) were used as indexes of continuity of care. A multiple linear regression analysis was used to identify factors affecting continuity of care. Results : The average continuity of care in the entire population of 1,498,327 patients was $0.89{\pm}0.17$ as calculated by MFPC and $0.92{\pm}0.16$ by MMCI. In a multiple linear regression analysis, both MFPC and MMCI were lower for females than males, disabled than non-disabled, Medicaid beneficiaries than health insurance beneficiaries, patients with low monthly insurance contributions, patients in rural residential areas, and patients whose most frequently visited provider is the hospital. Conclusions : The continuity of care for patients with diabetes is high in Korea. However, women, the disabled and people of low socio-economic status have relatively low continuity of care. Therefore, our first priority is to promote a diabetes management program for these patients.
