As the quality of life has improved with development of science and technology, desire for better quality of life of disable people has also increased. Currently, prejudiced views of disabled people in South Korea are changing, but sports for all disabled people is not revitalized and social support is also inadequate. In developed countries, administration and systems for sports among people with disabilities are provided at the consumer level, and many companies willingly provide support to disabled athletes. However, in South Korea, low awareness of sports for disabled people is companied by minimal support companies. In order for South Korea to advance, support for the disable sports players is needed, especially sports-wear that fits their body conditions and differences game playing from ordinary sports players. This study specifically focused on the ice sledge hockey players, taking into account the complaints on their jersey and their special conditions through motion analysis while sleds. For the easy use of the hockey, armhole depth and sleeve breadth was reduced and sleeve hem was designed for flexibility of sleeve such that it does not slide down. Also, because only the front of the Jersey is tucked in the pants, the side vent was designed to be deep such that the back hem is prevented from being pulled. Sportswear pattern making for the players with disabilities required to account for distinct body characteristics, as compared to the ordinary players. Thus, studies that develops sports-wear design for those with disabilities contributes to the qualitative development of sports for people with disabilities.

본 연구는 국제 표준인 DAISY 포맷 기반의 독서장애인용 디지털음성도서 저작 도구 개발 및 서비스 활성화 방안을 제안하였다. 현재 한국은 시각장애인들 뿐만 아니라 고령화에 따른 저시력자 및 노인인구의 증가로 인쇄매체를 읽는데 불편함이 있는 독서장애인들이 급속히 증가하고 있다. 이런 독서장애인들을 위한 디지털음성도서 서비스의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 디지털음성도서 서비스를 위해서는 사용자의 편의성을 충족시킬 수 있는 다양한 기능을 구현할 수 있어야 할 뿐만 아니라 저작권 침해의 문제를 해결해야 한다. 이에 본 연구는 디지털음성도서의 제작 포맷으로 사용되는 국제표준인 DAISY 포맷을 소개하고 DAISY 포맷 기반의 디지털음성도서 개발을 위한 저작 툴 개발 방안을 제안하였다. 또한 DAISY 포맷 기반의 디지털음성도서 서비스 활성화를 위하여, 일본의 저작권법 개정사례와 우리나라의 독서장애인을 위한 제도적 지원체계를 포함한 정책적 방안을 제안하였다.

Because of the industrialization, the number of acquired handicapped people and chronic disable people is increasing. This phenomenon takes an increasing interest in the interior and environment of a lobby at the rehabilitation's hospitals. This study represents the basic information of an efficient use of spaces in the rehabilitation's hospitals through a research into the characteristics of universal designs in the rehabilitation's hospital lobbies from six hospitals which are located in Seoul and Kyung-gi area. According to the study result, although the handicapped people are accessible to the lobbies, the considerations of the hospital's facilities and their abilities are still insufficient.

There is a growing awareness that physical barriers affect the level of independence of people with disabilities. Many researchers insist that barrier free design could influence independence living and quality of life of the disabled. The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of accessible design features of house and public facilities on quality of life of disabled people. A total of 189 questionnaires from the disabled who visited public welfare facilities was analyzed. In order to find out what variables among accessible features in housing and public spaces impact quality of life, multiple regression analysis was carried using SPSS 14. The results showed that accessible designs significantly influence quality of life of the disable. The main reason in which the disabled have difficulties when they move outside is a lack of accessible amenities and facilities. Particularly in house design, accessible main entrance route and accessible main entrance door, and removal of floor level significantly affects quality of life of the disabled. For public spaces, accessible main entrance and installation of ramp or removal of floor levels of main entrance and corridor increase quality of life people with disabilities. This paper suggested that the improvement in housing and public space, in which regulation or bylaws do not specify, should be made to increase accessibility for life quality of the disabled.

This study surveyed and analyzed attitudes toward people with disabilities, awareness of considerations in dental treatment for individuals with disabilities, the need for education on dental treatment for people with disabilities, and the educational requirements for dental hygienists working in dental medical institutions. The study was conducted to highlight the importance of dental treatment education for people with disabilities and to provide foundational data for future dental treatment education programs targeting dental hygienists. A total of 221 dental hygienists working in dental care institutions nationwide participated in a self-administered online questionnaire from November 2 to 15, 2022. This study concludes that there is a significant correlation between the attitudes of dental hygienists toward the disabled, their recognition of considerations in dental treatment for the disabled, the need for education on dental treatment for the disabled, and their educational experience in providing dental treatment for the disabled. In order to improve these factors, it is important to implement and expand systematic dental care education for people with disabilities in the school curriculum, as well as in supplementary education and seminars.

The necessity of universal design for forestry is increasing. Although several studies applied universal design in forest site, they had been only concentrated on the barrier-free design for the limited activities rather than overall utilization for considering all visitors from the disabled, the elderly and the infirm to the baby and child. The purpose of this study is to find out the principle of the universal design within forest welfare service facilities by analysing how socially disadvantaged people perceive overall usage of natural recreation forest area. This study figures out the main principles of universal design in forest welfare through analyzing usage of children and disabilities in Yumyeongsan natural recreation forest where is one of the popular type of forest welfare area. By doing focus interviews targeted on children and disabilities, the results are analyzed through semantic network analysis, objectively. The result proves that universal design in forest welfare area contains four principles; convenience, safety, diversity and amenity. Also it confirmed that disabilities need better internal space facilities and priority care. Through those characters of universal design, forest area will be able to cover more various type of users as forest welfare area.

스마트폰과 태블릿 PC로 대표되는 초고속 정보 통신기술시대에 장애인과 노인은 정보 통신 분야에서 이른바 ' 상대적 약자'의 위치에 놓이게 되었다. 이는 스마트폰 등 정보통신기기의 사용에 있어서의 불편함만으로 그치지 않고, ICT 기반의 현대 생활 전반에서 어려움을 유발하고 있는 것으로 나타나고 있다. 이에 뇌병변, 경추, 근육병, 지체장애 등의 상지기능장애를 수반하는 장애유형을 대상으로 스마트폰 접근성 항목에 대한 조사를 진행하였다. 그 결과, 특히 쥐는힘이 상대적으로 약한 상지 기능 장애인은 잡기 및 회전 등의 작업이 필요한 상황에서 큰 불편을 겪고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 스마트폰의 터치스크린 입력 방식의 특성을 반영한 입력 키보드의 지침 부족하며, 장애 유형에 따른 설문 조사 결과로는, 중증의 척수 장애를 지닌 사용자 집단이 스마트폰 사용에 있어 가장 불편함을 느끼는 것으로 나타났다.

장애인들의 웹서비스 이용도와 의존도가 상당히 높아진 현실을 고려한다면 공공기관이나 도서관 웹사이트의 접근성을 극대화하기 위한 대책 마련이 시급한 실정이다. 본 연구는 장애인의 웹 접근성을 높이기 위하여 우선적으로 고려해야 하는 웹사이트 설계 지침을 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 먼저 웹 표준 및 웹 접근성지침, 그리고 관련 최신 연구들이 제안한 웹 접근성 요건들을 기반으로 중요도 수준이 포함된 42개의 항목의 웹 접근성 요건 체크리스트를 구축하였고 다음으로 공공도서관을 포함한 15개의 공공기관 웹사이트의 접근성을 평가하였다. 그 결과, 중요하다고 고려된 요건들이 아직까지도 지켜지지 않고 있음을 파악할 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구는 장애인의 웹 접근성을 향상시킬 수 있는 웹사이트 설계 지침을 콘텐츠구성, 소리, 색, 키보드접근, 마우스접근, 접근기능, 이미지, 텍스트처리, 코드처리 등 9개 분야별로 제안하였다. 이러한 제안은 향후 접근성 지침에 따른 웹사이트 제작의 가이드뿐만 아니라 장애인의 접근성 향상을 위한 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

As the unmanned aerial vehicle industry and its related technologies grow each year, the number of abuse cases caused by drones is increasing. In addition to the invasion of privacy caused by indiscriminate photography, terrorism using unmanned aerial vehicles, which have a low detection probability, high location accuracy, and the capability of targeting people or places, as well as carrying chemicals, radiation materials, and small bombs, is becoming a significant problem around the world. Accordingly, many companies are developing anti-drone solutions that consist of various technologies such as radar, EO/IR cameras, and RF jammers to detect and disable unmanned aerial vehicles. This article briefly introduces the recent R&D trends and technical levels of anti-drone technologies.

In this paper, we developed a medical computer application for both disable children and adults in order to provide the chance to communicate easily with others. Although there are many mobile healthcare apps available nowadays, we believe that users should also have many options for choosing different types of healthcare programs developed for computers. That's why we have developed ConWis. This application helps a person with hearing loss, voice, speech, or language disorder to communicate easily with others. Through this software, hearing and understanding what is being said more clearly or to express thoughts become easier. To use this software, patient should input a sentence and it will be converted to audio speech using built-in voices for man or woman. In addition to that, it can convert voice that is received by microphone into text and display it on the screen.
