고령 장애인의 골다공증 유무에 따른 일상생활수행능력과 삶의 질 비교 (Comparison of ADL and QoL for the Osteoporosis and Non-osteoporosis in elderly people with disabilities)

  • Objective: This study examines the prevalence of osteoporosis, and compares with activity of daily living(ADL), instrumental activity of daily living(IADL) and health-related quality of life(QoL) among the elderly people with disabilities. Methods: This study analyzed the data of 3,113 persons with disabilities over 65 years of age who responded to the questionnaire using data from the National Survey of People with Disabilities in 2017 on the people with disabilities (PWD). Descriptive statistics, X2-test, and independent sample t-test were conducted using the SPSS win 21.0 program. Results: The prevalence of osteoporosis in the elderly PWD was 18.7%. There were significant differences in sex, age, type of disability, and disability severity according to the presence or absence of osteoporosis (p<0.05). Walking and Transfer of ADL were related to osteoporosis in elderly PWD. Financial management and Transportation use of IADL were related to osteoporosis (p<0.05). The PWD with osteoporosis were analyzed to have lower health-related quality of life compared to the disabled elderly without osteoporosis (p<0.05). Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, a strategy for developing a program for managing osteoporosis. Strengthening health management in the elderly PWD is required.

A Case Study of Horticultural Instruction as Education of Vocational Rehabilitation: Effects of Horticulture Job Skill Course Based on Employment Practice Model on Personal Performance Indicator of Vocational Rehabilitation for University Students with Disability

  • The purpose of the study was to examine the effects of the Horticulture Job Skill course based on the employment practice model on personal performance indicator of vocational rehabilitation for university students with disabilities. In the first step of this study, an employment practice model was developed by a focus group composed of six specialists from the industry and academia. The second step consisted of selecting the items of personal performance indicator related to horticulture vocational rehabilitation among all items of vocational rehabilitation. The third step was selecting students to participate in the study. The next step was coming up with a pilot instructional design based on the employment practice model. The final step was examining the effects of pilot course (horticulture job skill) based on the employment practice model on personal performance indicator of vocational rehabilitation for university students with disabilities. As a result, there were significant improvements after treatment in the experimental group with indicator 1 (managing) from 1.8±0.155 to 4.2±0.267, indicator 2 (planting) from 1.5±0.114 to 4.45±0.153, indicator 3 (using tool) from 3.2±0.186 to 4.6±0.112, indicator 4 (packing) from 2.05±0.153 to 4.45±0.114, indicator 5 (decorating) from 2.65±0.150 to 5.5±0.114, indicator 6 (cleaning) from 2.85±0.131 to 4.45±0.114, indicator 7 (observing) from 2.4±0.112 to 4.45±0.112, and indicator 8 (laboring) from 2.35±0.109 to 4.1±0.180. However, the control group did not show any significant improvement after 15 weeks of the program. This study determined that the Horticulture Job Skill course based on the employment practice model has an effect on improving the individual performance of vocational rehabilitation for university students with disabilities. Finally, horticulture education-based on the employment practice model will contribute to vocational rehabilitation for university student with disabilities.

한국 장애인 평생교육의 융합 딜레마 (A Convergence Dilemma of Lifelong Education for the Persons with Disabilities in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 한국 장애인 평생교육이 융합의 차원에서 놓여 있는 딜레마를 구체적으로 탐색하는 데 목적을 두어 실시되었다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위한 연구 내용은 장애인 평생교육의 지원체제를 개발하고 실제 이행하는 데 있어 고려되어야 할 토대라고 할 수 있는 영역으로 구성되었다. 그 영역의 결과는 분야의 융합 딜레마, 기관의 융합 딜레마, 자격의 융합 딜레마, 장애 영역의 융합 딜레마, 국가행정의 융합 딜레마와 같이 총 다섯 가지로 구성되었다. 그리고 다섯 가지의 영역은 상호 연계적인 관점과 맥락에 의해 고찰되었다. 연구 내용의 결과에 기반하여 장애인 평생교육의 학문적 정체성 정립을 위한 전제 조건을 비롯하여 장애인 평생교육 지원체제를 위한 대학 특수교육과(직업특수교육과 포함)의 역할 기능 강화를 중심으로 결론 및 고찰하였다. 이상을 통해, 본 연구에서는 한국 장애인 평생교육의 융합 딜레마를 위해 교육의 실천적인 성격과 맥락에 토대하여 평생교육학 범주와 특수교육학 범주 간 융합에 따라 장애인 평생교육의 학문적 정체성을 타당하게 정립할 것을 제안하였다는 데 가치가 있다.

특수교육기관 선택 요인 분석을 통한 특수교육대상자 배치계획 (Planning Plan for Special Education Subjects by Analyzing the Factor of Selecting Special Education Institutions)

  • 본 연구는 특수교육대상자 학부모가 자녀의 특수교육기관 선택 시 고려하고 있는 요인 등을 분석하여 특수교육대상자 배치계획에 대한 개선방안을 제시하는 것이며 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 특수교육대상자는 유치원 과정이 의무교육임에도 상당수가 초등학교 입학 시 특수교육대상자로 선정되고 있다. 둘째, 특수교육대상자 학부모의 특수교육기관 선택 요인은 교사의 전문성과 교육과정 운영, 자녀의 장애 유형 및 정도, 통학거리 및 통학방법, 교육시설(특별활동실, 치료실 등)로 나타났다. 셋째, 특수교육대상자의 특수교육기관 배치 방식은 통학권내 학교 중 학부모 선택이 가장 많은 것으로 나타났다. 적정한 배치계획 수립을 위해서는 특수교육대상자 수가 정확히 파악되어야 하므로 특수교육대상자 선정 시기는 늦어도 유치원 과정으로 하고, 특수교육기관의 불균형 및 교육시설의 격차를 해소하기 위하여 통학권도 설정해야 할 것이다.

  • Population screening of newborns is an extremely important and informative diagnostic approach that allows early identification of babies who are predisposed to the development of a number of serious diseases. Some of these diseases are known and have effective treatment methods. Neonatal screening enables the early diagnosis and subsequent timely initiation of therapy. This helps to prevent serious complications and reduce the percentage of disability and deaths among newborns and young children. Primary immunodeficiency diseases and primary immunodeficiency syndrome (PIDS) are a heterogeneous group of diseases and conditions based on impaired immune system function associated with developmental defects and characterized by various combinations of recurrent infections, development of autoimmune and lymphoproliferative syndromes (genetic defects in apoptosis, gene mutation Fas receptor or ligand), granulomatous process, and malignant neoplasms. Most of these diseases manifest in infancy and lead to serious illness, disability, and high mortality rates. Until recently, it was impossible to identify children with PIDS before the onset of the first clinical symptoms, which are usually accompanied by complications in the form of severe coinfections of a viral-bacterial-fungal etiology. Modern advances in medical laboratory technology have allowed the identification of children with severe PIDS, manifested by T- and/or B-cell lymphopenia and other disorders of the immune system. This review discusses the main existing strategies and directions used in PIDS screening programs for newborns, including approaches to screening based on excision of T-cell receptors and kappa-recombination excision circles, as well as the potential role and place of next-generation sequencing technology to increase the diagnostic accuracy of these diseases.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 여러 사업자에서 발행하였던 전자화폐의 활성화 장애요소와 문제점을 해결하고자 통합방식의 전자화폐를 소개하였다. 아울러, RFID 기술을 접목시켜 무선네트워크 기능성을 더욱 강화시켰다. 더욱이 활성화의 초점을 맞추어, 보급이 용이한 휴대폰에 전자화폐기능 뿐만 아니라 리더기를 탑재하여 손쉬운 충전 및 상호 개인 간에 증여기능을 넣어 실생활에 편의를 더하도록 하였다. 마지막으로, 불필요한 동전소지의 불편함과 분실의 우려가 없는 동전지갑 개념도 넣어 국가적으로도 동전주조비용 절감과 관리적 효율성을 기대할 수 있게 될 것이다.

Experience of e-Learning during Lockdown for Students with Intellectual Disabilities

  • This study examines the impact of e-learning on the educational level of students with intellectual disabilities from the viewpoint of their teachers. The study sample consisted of seven teachers: two working in primary school, two in middle school, and three in secondary school. The research applied a qualitative approach, using interviews with the participants. The results showed that the following are required for the effective use of e-learning: firstly, appropriate training courses need to be offered to teachers, students, and families and secondly, it is vital students are provided with the appropriate digital devices to maintain contact with their teachers. The study concludes by recommending the development of educational applications and/or programs capable of supporting teachers and students in their use of e-learning.

The Reality of Transitional Services Provided to People with Intellectual Disabilities from the Point of View of Parents

  • The current study aimed to identify the reality of the transitional services provided to people with intellectual disabilities from the parent's point of view. The results indicated an average level, with an arithmetic mean (3.66) of the reality of transitional services provided to students with intellectual disabilities through the response of the study participants to the questionnaire consisting of (20) items. The dimension (social and societal skills) ranked first with an arithmetic average (4.03) with a high degree, through the response of the participants in the study to the items of the dimension consisting of (10) items. It was followed by the dimension (self-determination skills) with an arithmetic average of (3.29) to a medium degree, through the response of the participants in the study to the items of the dimension consisting of (10) items. The researchers recommend the necessity of joint planning by all relevant authorities, to solve the legal, societal, technical, and administrative problems and challenges that impede the provision of transitional services for students with intellectual disabilities.

  • 장애인 운전 지원센터는 지역별 편차가 심하고 인력 부족 등의 문제로 배우고자 하는 장애인의 수요를 충족하지 못하고 있는 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 시뮬레이터를 활용하여 가상현실을 통한 장애인 운전 교육 시뮬레이터 모델을 제안한다. 가상현실 기법을 활용하여 시뮬레이터를 구성하고 운전 교육데이터를 시뮬레이터에 적용하여 모델을 구성하였다. 실질적인 교육내용을 기준으로 프로세스를 구성하였으며, 제안 모델을 활용하면 운전 교육이 어려운 중증장애인들도 시뮬레이터를 통한 간접적인 운전을 경험함으로써 삶의 질 또한 향상되는 것을 기대할 수 있다.

만성질환자의 정기적 의료이용에 영향을 미치는 요인 - 고혈압, 당뇨병, 고지혈증을 중심으로 - (Factors Affecting Regular Medical Services Utilization of Chronic Disease Patients - Focusing on the Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Hyperlipidemia -)

  • Objectives: This study aims to identify the factors associated with regular medical services utilization of chronic disease patients. Methods: The research selected 4,489 adults aged over 30, diagnosed with hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypercholesterolemia, from the Korea health panel. We analyzed states of regular medical service utilization using descriptive statistics. Multiple regression analysis was used to examine the main factors associated with regular medical services utilization in chronic disease patients. Results: In terms of socio-demographic factors, gender, age, marital status, education level, employment, household income and disability were significantly different between hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia and hypercholesterolemia. Among health status and behavioral factors, number of chronic diseases, subjective health status, smoking, high risk drinking, regular meals, physical activity, obesity were significantly different. From the multiple logistic regression analysis, age, number of chronic diseases, obesity, type of chronic diseases were associated with regular medical services utilization. Conclusions: It is necessary to develop effective health education programs and individualized approach to improve continuous management in chronic diseases patients.
