  • ETRI has developed GNSS digitized IF signal generator for providing test and evaluation environment for various software level application and navigation algorithm in Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS). GNSS digitized IF signal generator provides two main capabilities, GPS and Galileo raw data generation and digitized IF signal generation. GNSS digitized IF signal generator consists of five main modules which are GNSS Satellite Orbit Simulation Module, Navigation Message Generation Module, Error Generation Module, GNSS IF Signal Generation Module, and Message & Signal Steering Module. We verified the signal generated by the GNSS signal generation algorithm using software receiver for generation of signal brother to real GNSS signal.

  • A low power(9 mW) highly-digitized 2.4 GHz receiver for sensor network applications(IEEE 802.15.4 LR-WPAN) is realized by a $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process. We adopted a novel receiver architecture adding an intermediate frequency (IF) level detection scheme to a low-power complex fifth-order continuous-time(CT) bandpass L:tl modulator in order to digitalize the receiver. By the continuous-time bandpass architecture, the proposed $\Sigma\Delta$ modulator requires no additional anti-aliasing filter in front of the modulator. Using the IF detector, the achieved dynamic range(DR) of the over-all system is 95 dB at a sampling rate of 64 MHz. This modulator has a bandwidth of 2 MHz centered at 2 MHz. The power consumption of this receiver is 9.0 mW with a 1.8 V power supply.

  • For reverse engineering, curves and surfaces are modeled for new products by interpolating the digitized data points. But there are many measuring or deviation errors. Therefore, it is important to handle errors during the curve or surface modeling. If the errors are ignored, designer could get undesirable results. For this reason, fairing procedure with the aesthetics criteria is necessary in computer modeling. This paper presents methods of 3D NURBS curve fairing. The techniques are based on automatic repositioning of the digitized dat points or the NURBS curve control points by a constrained nonlinear optimization algorithm. The objective function is derived variously by derived curved. Constraints are distance measures between the original and the modified digitized data points. Changes I curve shape are analyzed by illustrations of curve shapes, and continuous plotting of curvature and torsion.

  • In this paper, the boost converter was implemented by digital control in many applications of the step-up. The PWM(pulse width modulation) control module of boost converter was digitized at power converter using the FPGA device and VHDL. The boost converter was designed to output a fixed voltage through the PI control algorithm of the PWM control module even if input voltage and output load are variable. The boost converter was digitized can be simplified by reducing the size of the module and the external control components. Thus, the digital power IC has advantageous for weight reduction and miniaturization of electronic products because it can be controlled remotely by setting the desired output voltage and PWM control module. The boost converter using the digital power IC was confirmed through experiments and the good performances were showed from experiment results.

  • The proliferation of digitized media(audio, image and video) is creating a processing need for copyright enforcement schemes that protect copyright ownership. we argue that a watermark must be placed in perceptually significant components of a signal if it is to be robust to signal distortions and malicious attack. In this paper, RGB coordinate image is transformed into LUV coordinate, it include the characteristics of, Human vision and then the UV component is transformed into NxN block DCT transform. we propose a technique for embedding the watermark of visually recognizable mark into the middle frequency domain of image.

  • Microfilm has been used as an important media for enhancing the long term preservation and improving access to records. However, because of technological changes, there have been discussion about whether we should keep using microfilm. This paper presents survey results to review the preservation methods such as microfilming and digitization. The content is organized according to the trends found in the survey from six archives and libraries, including Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and Japan. Moreover, we refer to other papers from the USA and Japan to require further review if we can accept digitized records as the original records, etc. The rest consists of four parts: the use of microfilm as a storage media for preservation, the authenticity of digitized records, the management of records on microfilm, and the preservation of electronic media. Finally, we would like to suggest the way to improve preservation systems and digitize records more widely.

  • Objectives: To investigate how dental hygienists who have never used a digital oral scanner perceive the impression acquisition and evidence needed for prosthesis planning by using a digital oral scanner. Methods: From July 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017, subjects from Daegu, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea, were selected. The purpose of the study was described to dental hygienists who had never used a digital intraoral scanner. Questionnaires were distributed to the students selected. Of the 137 questionnaires distributed, 93 were used in the analysis after excluding 44 completed questionnaires that had errors or missing answers. Results: Of the respondents, 33.7% (36/93) were aged ${\geq}30$ years, 68.8% graduated from a 3-year vocational college course, 33.5% were aged ${\geq}33$ years, and 61.3%. At present, our center has the largest number of clinics (92.5%). The difficulty of impression taking using the digital oral scanner significantly differed (p<0.05) according to age and current occupation (p<0.05). Impression taking using a digital oral scanner significantly affected the present workflow of dental hygienists and their interest in sharing information about future use of digital oral scanner (p<0.01). Conclusions: If more routes are available to access digital intraoral scanners and more systems are developed for clinical use, the digital intraoral scanner could become digitized in the dental system; thereby, the existing impressions could be replaced with digitized impressions. With digital intraoral scanners, the expansion of the business of dental hygiene can be expected.
