  • This paper presents a power system decomposition technique for digital simulation of large power system. To decompose power system, distributed transmission line model is used. But this model can be used only for long transmission lines. In this paper, capacitor compensation method is proposed to use distributed transmission line model for short transmission line. And case study shows proposed method can be used for effective power system decompositon in digital simulation of large power system.

  • A objective quality assessment for the evaluation performance of a video transmission system as a basic step for construction of digital video transmission system between the spots and headquarter. Due to a limit of an analog video transmission system and the developments of various digital media and digital video standards, the need of introduce of a digital system are increased gradual1y, At this points. previously performance evaluations are performed and the quality assessment is the most important thing. We can be divided quality assessment method by the subjective quality assessment and objective quality assessment. The subjective quality assessment method has some problems which are required high cost and much time to evaluate the quality, And because existing objective quality assessment method such that PSNR are based on an analog form, the correlation with subjective data is very low. Therefore we design a new objective quality assessment method using Gabor wavelet transform reflecting HVS(Human Visual System), Designed objective quality assessment method is superior to other objective method such that PSNR or EPSNR In this paper, we proposed objective quality assessment using Gabor wavelet can be used for performance evaluation and verification of video transmission system.

  • The enforcement of the digital switch been two years, but more than half of the viewers are still not enjoying the benefits of it. Therefore, the government proposed that 8VSB transmission method so that majority of the viewer is able to enjoy the benefits of a digital switch. However, the claim has been suggested that 8VSB transmission method will have negative impacts on broadcast market feedback. In this regard, this study verified the effect of 8VSB and the method of minimization on the broadcast market. This study has conducted in-depth interviews concerned experts to achieve this purpose. Results of an interview revealed that the negative impact on the market of content and platforms, network is very small. In other words, the majority of the experts argued that the policy of government about 8VSB transmission are inadequate and it is improved to broaden the choice of the broadcast consumer.

  • Recently, it is possible to high speed transmission of the non-voiced data, including voice, data, moving image instead of voice only in the past by changing the communication method to digital form from analog owing to the development of semiconductor and computer technology which for information transmission of the remote point. By doing so, we can get the improvement of the noise effect and low cost but the loss of transmission bandwidth. It is necessary to take some method in oreder to reducing the fading which is propotional to transmission bandwidth during the transmission of radio communication channel, especially. When we design the digital communication system, we must considered to the fading effect in order to determination of the transmitting power, modulation /demodulation method, transmission speed, bit error rate. This paper mainly concerns to the method to the channel simulator which descrives the fading effect during the transmission by computer model and digital filter modeling of the radio fading channel by unsing the transmitting and received signal. By taking the inverse of the characteristic of the modeled filter, it is possible to improvement of the communication system by reducing the distortion and inter-symbol interference which occurs in the channel.

Analogue train radio is short of the number of lines and can't cope with the needs for the new high speed data transmission by 1,200 bps. The construction to renew the Tohoku - Joethu shinkansen train radio system(shinkansen train radio system) with digital method started from 2000 in JREast Digital method makes it possible to improve the quality of radio transmission, reliability of the network and every device, the speed and capacity of transmission and to be more efficient maintenance by introducing the latest IT technology. This paper will consider synchronization between base station. diversity method. software receiver, mobile high speed digital radio system, high reliability LAN introduced as technologies supporting these.

  • In this paper, we develop a prototype of the Optical SCM transmission module. This module is possible to application to electric facilities for control and measurements. Transmission channel number is two channels, namely, image and digital signal. In the image transmission, modulation method is AM, baseband signal is NTSC video signal and demodulation use PLL. Modulation of digital signal is QPSK, 1.544Mbps and demodulation use PLL. First, we calculate theoretical analysis about RF and Optical link in the transmission. This calculation is well correspond with practical system and transmission experiment is excellent, but this is only two channel model. And now, we plan to multichannel transmission to measure intermodulation, frequency assignments and optimal channel numbers et al.

  • In this paper, we have studied the devices needed for long distance wireless transmission of SDH network. This devices propose wireless transmission and measurement method of STM-1(basic transmission unit of SDH method) signal and 200Mbps synchronous ethernet. The synchronous clock recovery function is provided for STM-N transmission and synchronous ethernet transmission, and spare clock switching function is designed for stable synchronization. In addition, we discussed the measurement method of STM-N and synchronous Etherent communication method in wireless transmission section.

  • The on-board processor of satellite synthetic aperture radar(SAR) generates transmission signal by digital signal processing, converts it into an analog signal. At this time, the transmission signal generated from the baseband requires the frequency modulation to convert it to the high-frequency band in order to improve the stability. General frequency modulation method using local oscillator(LO) causes IQ imbalance due to phase error/magnitude error and these error reduce performance of SAR. To generate transmission signal without phase/magnitude error, this paper suggests design method of the frequency modulation method using digital to analog converter(DAC) at on-board SAR. For design, this paper analyzes the characteristic of DAC mode and uses pre-compensation filter. To analyze the proposed method performance, performance index are compared with IQ imbalance signals. This method is suitable for on-board SAR using fast sampling DAC and has the advantage of being able to solve IQ imbalances.

  • This paper presents an effective algorithm for inserting an MPEG-2 transport stream (TS) into a Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) ensemble without any bandwidth waste in a Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) transmission system. The key technologies of this algorithm include packet rate control and program clock reference correction, which are important for TS processing. The proposed algorithms are applied to the various DMB transmission systems based on Eureka-147, and the performance of the proposed algorithm is confirmed through the experimental DMB broadcasting.
