  • This paper describes interferometer direction finder which measures the angle of arrival based on calculation of the phase difference of received radio signal from different antennas. Modern Electronic Warfare direction finder uses digital phase difference measuring techniques which have less effect on temperature variation and better performance under low Signal to Noise Ratio environment. In this paper, we analyze acceptable phase difference error for requirement of system's direction finding accuracy and introduce digital phase difference calculation techniques. We have investigated quantitative analysis on phase difference calculation according to sample number, SNR, interference injection. Through the simulation, frequency domain measurement technique is better performance than the time domain one at the environment of low SNR and interference injection. Proposed method can be used to determine the performance of interferometer direction finder.

  • In this paper, signal processing techniques for noncoherent impulse-radio-based UWB (IR-UWB) communication system are proposed to provide system implementation of low power consumption and low complexity. The proposed system adopts a simple modulation technique of OOK (on-oft-keying) and noncoherent signal detection based on signal amplitude. In particular, a technique of a novel high speed digital sampler using a stable, lower reference clock is developed to detect nano-second pulses and recover digital signals from the pulses. Also, a 32 bits Turyn code for data frame synchronization and a convolution code as FEC are applied, respectively. To verify the proposed signal processing techniques for low power, low complexity noncoherent IR-UWB system, the proposed signal processing technique is implemented in FPGA and then a short-range communication system for wireless transmission of high quality MP3 data is designed and tested.

  • PURPOSE. The purpose of this study was to investigate the misfit and screw preload at the implant abutment connection of implant supported fixed dental prosthesis with cantilever (ICFDP) manufactured using different digital manufacturing techniques and to compare the screw preload before and after cyclic loading. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Mandibular jaw model with four intra-foraminal implants was scanned using digital scanner. Stereolithography file was used to design a framework with nonengaging (NE) abutments and 10 mm cantilever distal to one terminal implant. Five frameworks were constructed using combined digital-conventional techniques (CAD-cast), and five frameworks were constructed using three-dimensional printing (3DP). Additional CAD-cast framework was constructed in a way that ensures passive fit (PF) to use as control. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) measured the implant abutment connection misfit. Sixty screws were used on the corresponding frameworks. Screws were torqued and pre-cyclic loading reverse torque value (RTV) was recorded. Frameworks were subjected to 200,000 loading cycles with a loading point 9 mm from the center of terminal implants adjacent to the cantilever and post-cyclic loading RTVs were recorded. RESULTS. Microscopic readings showed significant differences between frameworks. PF demonstrated the lowest measurements of 16.04 (2.6) ㎛ while CAD-cast demonstrated the highest measurements of 29.2 (3.1) ㎛. In all groups, RTVs were significantly lower than the applied torque. Post-cyclic loading RTV was significantly lower than pre-cyclic loading RTV in PF and 3DP frameworks. Differences in RTVs between the three manufacturing techniques were insignificant. CONCLUSION. Although CAD-cast and three-dimensionally printed (3DP) both produce frameworks with clinically acceptable misfit, 3DP might not be the technique of choice for maintaining screw's preload stability under an aggressive loading situation.

  • Digital watermarking has been proposed as a solution to the problem of copyright protection of the multimedia documents. In this paper a new watermarking method for digital images operating in the frequency domain is proposed. In our approach, DCT coefficients of the watermark are added to the low frequency region of the host image, and extract it using the Wiener Filter. Due to the characteristic of the wiener filtering, the watermark is robust to various image processing techniques. Experimental results show that it is possible to reliably extract the watermark without degrading image quality.

  • It is one of important techniques to protect illegal uses and forgeries for text databases when the internet has become widsepread. Lots of studies and system developments has been progressed in order to protect text databases, important documents of the companies, and blueprints of the research institutes. Given this project securing the KISTI (Korea Institute of Science and Teschnology Information) digital contents, we are to design a watermaking and fingerprinting system protecting document images, and a agent notifying the traitors' location.

  • In audio techniques calculation of digital filters is accelerated considerably by use of wave variables instead of voltages and currents. The suitability of wave variables for digital simulation of power converters was investigated and the results are reported in this paper. The original method is described briefly, modelling of switches and diode rectifiers is presented, examples are given and the features of the method are discussed.

  • Industry related to digital contents is growing rapidly and is noticed as a higher value-added business. In digital reflex contents industry, computer graphics techniques are core techniques. Because they make production or scene that is difficult to photograph possible with real camera, expand a range of contents making. Lately, computer graphics techniques apply various fields such as blockbuster movie, game, educational contents, simulation etc, and there are many studies about movement of each object made up of contents or automation of object change. This paper shows the process of fishes growth, from spawn to a full-grown fish making use of 3D morphing techniques and want to plan fish growth process system that can know difference between fishes that are applied to 3D morphing techniques and normal full-grown fishes according to various environmental factors that affect growth.
