신호 대 잡음비가 향상된 센서 신호 측정용 저 전력 SAR형 A/D 변환기 (A Low Power SAR ADC with Enhanced SNDR for Sensor Application)

  • This paper describes a low-power, SNDR (signal-to-noise and distortion ration) enhanced SAR (successive approximation register) type 12b ADC (analog-to-digital converter) with noise shaping technique. For low power consumption and small chip size of the DAC (digital-to-analog converter), the top plate sampling technique and the dummy capacitor switching technique are used to implement 12b operation with a 10b capacitor array in DAC. Noise shaping technique is applied to improve the SNDR by reducing the errors from the mismatching of DAC capacitor arrays, the errors caused by attenuation capacitor and the errors from the comparator noise. The proposed SAR ADC is designed with a $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process. The simulation results show that the SNDR of the SAR ADC without the noise shaping technique is 71 dB and that of the SAR ADC with the noise shaping technique is 84 dB. We can achieve the 13 dB improvement in SNDR with this noise shaping technique. The power consumption is $73.8{\mu}W$ and the FoM (figure-of-merit) is 5.2fJ/conversion-step.

  • 최근 다양한 분야에서 디지털 장비의 사용이 증가함에 따라 영상 및 신호처리의 중요성이 높아지고 있다. 하지만 디지털 신호는 송수신 과정에서 많은 종류의 잡음이 발생하며, 이러한 잡음은 시스템의 최종 출력에 큰 영향을 미친다. 본 논문은 임펄스 잡음과 AWGN이 혼합된 잡음 환경에서 화소 유사성에 따른 잡음 제거를 통해 효과적으로 영상을 복원하는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안한 알고리즘은 잡음 종류에 따라 기준치를 설정하여, 기준치와 유사한 화소에 필터링을 적용하여 최종 출력을 구한다. 시뮬레이션 결과 제안한 알고리즘은 우수한 잡음제거 특성을 나타내었으며, 기존 방법들과 비교하기 위해 PSNR 등을 이용하여 비교 및 분석하였다.

  • 현대사회는 4차 산업혁명과 IoT 기술의 발전으로 인공지능 및 자동화가 다양한 분야에서 적용되고 있다. 특히 자동화 공정, 지능형 CCTV, 의료산업, 로봇, 드론과 같이 영상처리의 비중이 높은 시스템의 경우 잡음과 같은 외부 요인의 영향을 받기 쉽다. 본 논문에서는 복합잡음 환경에서 영상을 복원하기 위해 잡음 추정과 가중치에 기반한 디지털 필터를 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 잡음 판단을 사용하여 잡음의 종류를 구분하였으며, 필터링 마스크의 잡음 수준을 판단하여 필터링 과정을 스위칭하여 최종출력을 구한다. 제안한 알고리즘의 성능을 검증하기 위해 시뮬레이션을 진행하여 기존 필터 알고리즘과 비교하였으며 결과를 분석하였다.

차세대 스마트도시 시설물의 플랫폼 정의와 디지털 체인 (Next Generation Smart-City Facility Platform and Digital Chain)

  • With increasing interest and research on smart cities, there is also an increasing number of studies on urban facilities that can be built within smart cities. According to these studies, smart cities' urban facilities are likely to become high value-added industries. However, the concept of smart city is not clear because it involves various fields. Therefore, in this study, the definition of Next-Generation(N.G) Smart City Facilities with Digital Twin and Digital Chain is carried out through a multidisciplinary approach. Based on this, Next-Generation Smart City Facilities will be divided into High Value-Added Products and Big Data Platforms. Subsequently, the definition of the Digital Chain containing the data flow of the entire process built through the construction of the Digital Twin proceeds. The definitions derived are applied to the Next-Generation Noise Barrier Tunnel to ensure that data is exchanged at the Digital Twin stage, and to review the proposed configuration of the Digital Chain and Data Flow in this study. The platform definition and Digital Chain of Next-Generation Smart City Facilities proposed in this study suggest that it can affect not only the aspects of data management that are currently in the spotlight, but also the manufacturing industry as a whole.

  • Digital twins between "BIM Digital Model-Physical Prototype Model" will be built for Noise Barrier tunnel(NBT) that meet the definition of N.G smart city facilities derived from previous studies to build a data flow that connects data at each stage of design, construction, and operation. In this process, BIM design automation tools are created and utilized, and consistent transmission of member and attribute data is performed by converting them into IFC format. Through this, the purpose is to improve the labor-intensive environment required from the design stage of the NBT and to consistently maintain the information required for subsequent production and construction. This includes achieving changes in the construction industry based on digital transformation by unifying various data formats used differently for each industry from design to operation. In addition, it demonstrates that information exchange in the maintenance and management stages is possible based on the data exchange of the established digital twin and aims to improve the existing labor-intensive environment and expand operability between digital and physical information. As suggested in previous studies, the implementation of digital twins in these N.G smart city facilities includes the possibility of building an environment that adds to the possibility of high value-added product platforms as well as the function of big data platforms targeting existing smart cities.

웨이브 디지털 필터의 스케일링에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Scaling in Wave Digital Filter)

  • 유한어장으로 인하여 디지털 필터에는 반올림한 오차의 잡음과 가산기의 오버플로 문제가 있다. 오버플로가 발생하지 않으면서 내부신호의 레벨을 가능한 최대가 되도록 바꾸기 위하여 행하는 것이 스케일링의 목적이다. 스케일링의 필요조건은 변압기를 사용하여 실현한다. 본 논문에서 오버플로를 피하면서 출력의 SNR을 극대화하는 절차를 제안하였다. 그 결과 스케일링한 경우에 오버플로가 발생하지 않으면서 SNR이 개선되었다.

  • One of the problems of derivatie spectrophotometry, the decrease of signal-to-noise ratio by derivative operations, was solved by three concepts of digital filtering, ensemble averaging, least squares polynomial smoothing and Fourier smoothing. The suthors made several compouter programs written in APPLE SOFT BASIC language for the actual applications of the concepts of these digital filters on UV spectrophotometer system. As a result, ensemble averaging could not be used as a routine operation for the spectrophotometer used. The maximum S/N ratio enhancement factors achieved by least squares polynomial smoothing were 6.17 and 7.47 for the spectra of Gaussian and Lorentzian distribution models, and by Fourier smoothing 16.42 and 11.78 for the spectra of two models, respectively.

Co-Simulation for Systematic and Statistical Correction of Multi-Digital-to-Analog-Convertor Systems

  • In this paper, a systematic and statistical calibration technique was implemented to calibrate a high-speed signal converting system containing multiple digital-to-analog converters (DACs). The systematic error (especially the imbalance between DACs) in the current combining network of the multi-DAC system was modeled and corrected by calculating the path coefficients for individual DACs with wideband reference signals. Furthermore, by applying a Kalman filter to suppress noise from quantization and clock jitter, accurate coefficients with minimum noise were identified. For correcting an arbitrary waveform generator with two DACs, a co-simulation platform was implemented to estimate the system degradation and its corrected performance. Simulation results showed that after correction with 4.8 Gbps QAM signal, the signal-to-noise-ratio improved by approximately 4.5 dB and the error-vector-magnitude improved from 4.1% to 1.12% over 0.96 GHz bandwidth.

디지털 의료영상에서 Noise감소를 위한 필터조합과 임상적 효과에 관한 연구 (Research About Filter Association and Clinical Effect Noise Reduction of Digital Medical Imaging System)

  • 의료영상에서 화질저하를 최소화 하면서 Noise를 감소시키기 위하여 Noise가 첨가되어 있는 영상을 대상으로 Low Pass Filter(LPF) 5종, High Pass Filter(HPF) 4종, Median Filter(MF) 11종의 모두 20개의 필터를 복합적으로 사용하여 Noise 제거효과를 검토하였다. Noise를 나타내는 지표로 Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR), Mean Square Error(MSE)를 비교하였다. 그 결과 Noise 감소효과가 가장 높은 필터의 조합은 LPF3*3#1 + HPF3*3#1 + Vertical3*1로 나타났다. 이 필터의 조합을 흉부, 골반, 머리 등의 의료영상에 적용하여 임상적인 Noise 제거효과를 확인하였다.
