  • Analyzing research schools' reports on school library activities, this paper identifies the characteristics and problems of library assisted instruction (LAI), and proposes areas and ways for improvement. Twenty three reports of secondary schools in Edunet were analyzed and their content were categorized into 13 educational activities. Most frequently implemented activities were collection development, reading programs, LAI, and Digital Library System (DLS). The verified positive impact of LAI include enhanced motivation for reading and improved ability for self-directed learning. Areas for improvement include LAI's excessive dependence on DLS and reading activities, insufficient time and library materials which hindered students' information activities. In order for LAI to be more effective in enhancing self-directed learning ability, it is suggested to connect LAI to specific educational experiences and develop customized and detailed content.

  • This study aims to develop digital archives for honam catholic history institute. To achive the goal, this study considers historical archives of honam catholic history institute. Also, this study proposed an effective archiving method based on OSS(open source software) for contents collection, management, preservation and service. Archiving of local cultural contents can contribute to the local development along with cultural industry policy. This study performed interview with people in charge of management of archives to extract general requirements for implementation of local archives. With the results, this study limitations of current archives management and considerations of implementation of local archives. This study proposed a method to effectively solve the limitations through the processes.

  • This study aims to improve the openness of administrative data and to make extensive use of it in the academic and policy development, analyzing the quality requirements as the users' view of administrative data using statistical purposes. Conducted the exploratory analysis on the case of the Transaction-based Price Index of Housing, applying the administrative data of Realestate Transaction Management System in Korea, based on Denmark's 7 quality indicators for the statistical use of administrative data. According to the results of this study, the administrative data could improve the efficacy of the policy by facilitating the collection of the statistical data which help analyzing the actual market situations. On the other hand, the data have some constraints in adding the required items to producing the statistics, or improving the timeliness problem, due to the characteristics focused on the civil service.

  • Big data have been presenting us with exciting opportunities and challenges in economic development. For instance, in the agriculture sector, mixing up of various agricultural data (e.g., weather data, soil data, etc.), and subsequently analyzing these data deliver valuable and helpful information to farmers and agribusinesses. However, massive data in agriculture are generated in every minute through multiple kinds of devices and services such as sensors and agricultural web markets. It leads to the challenges of big data problem including data collection, data storage, and data analysis. Although some systems have been proposed to address this problem, they are still restricted either in the type of data, the type of storage, or the size of data they can handle. In this paper, we propose a novel design of a platform for collecting and analyzing agricultural big data. The proposed platform supports (1) multiple methods of collecting data from various data sources using Flume and MapReduce; (2) multiple choices of data storage including HDFS, HBase, and Hive; and (3) big data analysis modules with Spark and Hadoop.

  • Recently, with the explosive development of computing power, various methods such as RNN and CNN have been proposed under the name of Deep Learning, which solve many problems of Computer Vision have. The Generative Adversarial Network, released in 2014, showed that the problem of computer vision can be sufficiently solved in unsupervised learning, and the generation domain can also be studied using learned generators. GAN is being developed in various forms in combination with various models. Machine learning has difficulty in collecting data. If it is too large, it is difficult to refine the effective data set by removing the noise. If it is too small, the small difference becomes too big noise, and learning is not easy. In this paper, we apply a deep CNN model for extracting facial region in image frame to GAN model as a preprocessing filter, and propose a method to produce composite images of various facial expressions by stably learning with limited collection data of two persons.

  • The idea of Library 2.0 originated from the concept of Web 2.0 social interactions within the Web. From this aspect, Library 2.0 is a library blended with Web 2.0. The most remarkable features of Library 2.0 are interactions and user involvement. Users' roles in new library environments are greater since they can contribute to establishing a library collection by annotating, blogging, reviewing, etc. While users' roles become important, the responsibilities of the librarians increase due to the unfiltered information created by users. Librarians now should extend their roles as information creators, organizers, providers, managers, as well as moderators. In this paper, we reviewed the current literature on the new paradigm of digital libraries, Library 2.0, and the development of Library 2.0. In addition, we discuss the extended role of the Librarian 2.0 in Library 2.0.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the influence of users' satisfaction with the Automatic Writing Evaluation(AWE) on learners' sense of learning achievement through self efficacy in English writing class. AWE is a tool that automatically provides feedback on writing outputs by AI technology. College students were asked to write essays for each topic and use AWE to get feedback on their drafts, and finally revise them referring to the feedback. A questionnaire survey was conducted for the data collection. The data was analyzed using SPSS, and smart PLS-SEM along with bootstrapping techniques, The results of the study reveal the followings: 1) the convenience and usefulness of AWE had a positive effect on the willingness to reuse it; 2) the satisfaction with AWE had a positive effect on self-efficacy; 3) self-efficacy had a positive effect on learning achievement in terms of emotional and linguistic aspects. With the development of the 4th industry and A.I. technology, it is recommended to introduce new materials or programs such as AWE in English education.

  • This is a methodological study to develop standards for human body coordinate clinical terminology system. The Standard was developed through four stages: Stage 1 - research plan was developed through literature review and data collection. Stage 2 - preliminary standard was created. Stage 3 - the standard was revised in accordance with the consultation of experts through seminars. Stage 4 - Final version of the standard was presented after verification of the content level. 2D human body images are expressed as x, y axes, and 3D images are expressed as x, y, z axes. Concepts and definitions of coordinates were preassembled into FSN, synonyms and preferred names of SNOMED CT. The latter combination was defined through 18 relationships. The average index was 4.01 for the content validity of the developed relationship standard. This research suggests that subsequent standards should be developed for other parts of the human body such as the brain, organs, and tissues. Also, it suggests that methodological research should be continued to increase the utilization of the standard in clinical practice.

  • This study attempted to improve the quality of hairstyling-related studies and provide basic data for future studies on hairstyling terms through analysis of cosmetology-related loan words used in hairstyling theses among recent cosmetology papers. For data collection to derive valid conclusions, the signatures of a total of 1,980 academic papers collected after typing in the keyword 'Hair' at the Research Information Sharing Service (http://www.riss.kr) were analyzed. The results show that researchers in hairstyling seem not to pay close attention to the correct use of foreign loan words. Therefore, the study results would be very helpful to the development of future cosmetology studies. The correct notation and use of foreign loanwords should be further encouraged.
