Development and Application of the Metadata Element for the Digital Comic Content (디지털 만화 콘텐츠 메타데이터 요소개발 및 적용)

  • Rights process problem was stated among actors that participated in digital contents distribution while it was various type of digital content service. In order to solve it, It was expressed conceptual and technical elements by reflecting a system. Among them, the interoperability of metadata became a important issue. As for the metadata for contents service, necessity about standardization is stated as a basic framework composing a service system. This paper proposed the metadata element which focus on the rights process that is being a key factor of a DRM(Digital Right Management) system for digital comics contents service. Therefore, it was verified by using Context Model of MPEG-21 RDD with interoperability between metadata elements which developed a XML format and the existing MPEG-21 RDD elements.   • P2P(Peer To Peer) system, a most attractive file sharing system, is the largest channel of contents distribution and it takes 50% of network traffic. But P2P systems are infamous for used to illegal contents distribution channel not only in music industry, but also in movie industry. But, DRM(Digital Right Management) enabled P2P models are not suggested until now that interrupting illegal contents distribution and keeping advantage of P2P. So in this paper, we suggest a DRM enabled P2P model that can support distributed processing ability and high scalability with no modification in exist P2P model or architecture.

Design and Evaluation of DRM Model with Strong Security Based on Smart Card (스마트카드 기반의 강한 보안을 갖는 DRM 모델의 설계 및 평가)

  • Recently, digital rights management (DRM) related researches are widely spreading with prosperity of IT industries. The DRM technology protects proprietor of copyright by preventing mischanneling and illegal copy. In this paper, we propose a new DRM model that has an enhanced and efficient protocol based on certificate using smart card. The proposed model overcomes weaknesses of WCDRM model and has following additional advantages: first, copy protection is enhanced by hiding user's specific information from attacker by storing the information within smart card; second, server load for contents encryption is reduced by making clear protocols among author, distributer, certificate authority, and users; third, offline user authentication is guaranteed by combining partial secret values in media players and smart card. Exposure of core information also is minimized by storing them in smart card. In addition, we show that the proposed system is more secure than WCDRM model by comparing various factors of anonymous attackers.

  • Digital Contents are increasing the modification of the contents by individual user and the modified or copied contents are simply distributed though the ultrahigh speed internet and the negative pervasive effect on the contents market is increasing. The solutions for copyright protection from illegally distributing contents are developing by various standardization groups and contents manufacturers and its commercia use is partly practiced. The MPEG was developing the IPMP technique to apply existed MPEG standards as a way of digital contents protection. However, as these IPMP techniques did not provide a satisfactory function for contents protection, the DMP standard was suggested as an alternative plan. In this paper, the system is designed and materialized to apply the TooIPack concept of DMP which ensure the interoperability of DRM system. With this paper, it is expected that the practical use and the possibility of the DMP standard in the DRM market would be verified and DMP standard may presents as a reference model for more systematic standardization operations.

  • 무선 인터넷이 활성화되면서 다양한 형태의 무선 컨텐츠가 상용화되고 있으며, 이와 동시에 불법적인 컨텐츠의 유통이 성행하게 되어 컨텐츠 보안을 위한 디지털 저작권 관리(DRM: Digital Rights Management)시스템이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 무선 인터넷 환경에서 유통되는 디지털 컨텐츠의 저작권 보호를 위한 모바일 보안 시스템을 제안하였다. 특히, 본 시스템에서 단말의 처리 능력을 고려하여 컨텐츠 부분 암호화 기법을 적용하여 신속한 복호화 수행이 가능하도록 설계하였다. 본 시스템을 적용할 경우 컨텐츠의 권리보호는 물론이며, 제한적인 모바일 디바이스에서 기존보다 신속한 수행이 가능해지는 효과를 기대할 수 있다.

  • The network architecture and analysis model for evaluating the information security are presented to distribute the reliable and secure multimedia digital contents. Using the firewall and IDS, the function of the proposed model includes the security range, related data collection/analysis, level evaluation and strategy proposal. To develop efficient automatic analysis tool, the inter-distribution algorithm and network design based on the traffic analysis between web-server and user are needed. Furthermore, the efficient algorithm and design of DRM/PKI also should be presented before the development of the automatic information security model.

  • Film has been used widely since Auguste and Louis Lumiere hold the first private screening in 1895. Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones directed by George Lucas released on May 16, was the first motion picture both to be shot completely on a high definition digital 24-frame system and to be projected by digital projectors. Its success showed us that the digital cinema era is imminent. Digital Cinema will enable the studios and movie distributors to low the expenses of making and delivering film prints and dissemination of it can put the entire digital cinema ecosystem in great jeopardy. Therefore DRM and other security policies are used for digital cinema content protection. In this paper it will be discussed how the digital cinema platform can package (encooe & encrypt), transport, and project the digital cinema contents safely.

  • We use PKI technology for the digital content distribution in mobile environment. Encoding method is used TtipleDES and digital signature is used RSA. For the efficient methods and processes to the digital content distribution, we proposed the mechanism which consists of the sequential steps including the digital contents encoding step, rights management information signature step, and interconnection steps. As a result of this study, we propose the efficient and safe processes for the mobile content distribution environment.

  • 인터넷의 발전과 멀티미디어 인프라의 성장으로 방대한 양과, 다양한 종류의 디지털 데이터들이 제작, 유통되고 있다. 디지털 컨텐츠는 기존 아날로그 컨텐츠와 비교 생성, 가공, 유통, 분배등의 측면에서 많은 장점을 갖는 반면, 원본과 동일한 복사물을 쉽게 생성할 수 있는 특징 때문에 디지털 창작물에 대한 저작권 보호가 중요시된다. 본 논문은 이미 유선 환경에서 디지털 컨텐츠 보호 기술로 각광 받고 있는 DRM(Digital Rights Management)을 토대로 무선 환경에서 디지털 컨텐츠의 보안을 위한 Mobile DRM (MDRM) 에 대한 설계를 목적으로 한다 설계되어진 MDRM은 Mobile 환경을 고려 키 교환 및 컨텐츠 암/복호 시 발생하는 부하를 줄이고 컨텐츠의 불법적인 유포 방지를 위한 SDMS(Secret-Key Distributed Management System : 비밀키 분산 관리 시스템)기술을 이용한다.

  • 컴퓨팅 환경이 유리쿼터스 환경으로 변해가면서 다양한 컨텐츠와 다양한 디바이스들이 등장하게 되었고, 디지털 컨텐츠를 보호하기 위해 DRM(Digital Rights Management) 기술이 적용된 서비스가 제공되고 있다. 그러나 현재 DRM 기술의 디지털 컨텐츠 보안 정책은 일정한 키 길이에 동일한 암호 알고리즘을 사용함으로써 비효율적이고, 사용자의 다양한 요구를 만족시키지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 디지털 컨텐츠에 보안 정책을 효율적으로 적용하고 디바이스의 성능과 디지털 컨텐츠의 가치에 따라 의사 결정 방법인 MAUT(Multi-Attribute Utility Theory) 알고리즘을 이용하여 최적의 보안 등급을 동적으로 결정하는 컨텐츠 암호화 모듈을 설계하고 구현한다.
