The Comparison of the Adaptive Equalization Performance in MCMA Algorithm by the Weighting Factor (MCMA알고리즘에서 weighting factor에 의한 적응 등화 성능 비교)

  • This paper deals with the performance comparison of self adaptive equalizer by the weighting factor of MCMA cost function for the compensate the amplitude and phase distortion which occurs in the communication channel. The MCMA is improves the cost function of present CMA at the output of equalizer for the minimize of error function in the amplitude and phase, the value of weighting factor is used at this time. When the comparison of equalizer performance, we classified to initial state and steady state, then it represents the convergence time and convergence speed and steady state operation of equalizer to the predetermined level, it is determined by the weighting factor. We confirm to the different result to this 2 state by weighting factor values using computer simulation. By using the result of this paper, if we appropriately choose the weighting factor values in the environment of communication channel, it is expected that the high quality digital transmission is possible.

  • QR code (abbreviated from Quick Response Code) is code system that is strong in against to apply image processing techniques (skew, warp, blur, and rotate) as QR codes can store several hundred times the amount of information carried by ordinary bar codes. For this reason, QR code is used in various fields, e.g., air ticket (boarding control system), food(vegetables, meat etc.) tracking system, contact lenses management, prescription management, patient wrist band (patient management) etc. In this paper, we proposed reversible data hiding for binary images. A reversible data hiding algorithm, which can recover the original image without any distortion from the marked (stego) image after the hidden data have been extracted, because it is possible to use various kinds of purposes. QR code can be used to generate by anyone so it can be easily used for crime. In order to prevent crimes related QR code, reversible data hiding can confirm if QR code is counterfeit or not as including authentication information. In this paper, we proved proposed method as experiments.

A Robust TDMA Frame Structure and Initial Synchronization in Satellite Communication (위성통신을 위한 강인한 TDMA Frame 구조 및 초기동기 기법)

  • A TDMA system in satellite communication has been utilized. Especially DVB-S2 was standardized and now operated in satellite broadcasting system. In this paper, we propose a TDMA frame structure appropriate for special purpose which has the good reliablilty in a poor RF environment even if frequency efficiency is decreased. TDMA frame duration is 12 seconds which is long duration in comparison with general TDMA system with several ms. Designing the frame structure, time and frequency shift in single frame duration are considered. Simulation results show that the proposed frame structure and synchronization method has robust synchronization performance when the terminal is even in low SNR as well as 25 kHz frequency offsets.

  • This study presents a time synchronization system in decentralized structure by using the blockchain, a core technology of Bitcoin introduced by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2008. In this study, Getting away from existing time synchronization system in centralized structure, A blockchain network has completely decentralized structure using public blockchain. In decentralized structure, Only certain peers among the peers that participate in a blockchain network access the NTP server. Therefore, others can synchronize time without having to go to public network. Furthermore if appropriate time synchronization cycles are established for each peer, time synchronization can be maintained even when connection to public network is completely lost. A time synchronization system in this study has advantages of p2p system and can be also guaranteed reliability and stability because it used digital signature, merkle tree, consensus algorithm which are core characteristics of block chains.

  • Short-circuit rotor windings on a generator causes unstable oscillation of unbalance of flux, asymmetrical heat. In order to prevent serious accidents of short-circuit rotor windings, it is important to study the shorted-turn diagnosis method for rotor windings of the generator. To improve the defects of the diagnosis with sensors, the new sensorless method for rotor shorted-turn diagnosis is proposed, which is to measure the electrical values of the voltage and current at the generator and then to detect if the shorted-turned phenomena would occurred. For the feasibility of the suggested method the theoretical results are shown in the aspects of the air-gap flux density, the flux leakage, the generated output voltage and the shorted field current through the digital simulation. Also the possibility of decision for the suggested sensorless method could be shown in this paper.

Concatenated Code System for Mobile Fading Channel (이동통신 페이딩 채널에서의 CONCATENATED 코드 시스템)

  • In this paper, a new digital mobile channel has been modeled. And concatenated code systems have been proposed to transmit information reliably in the newly modeled mobile fading channels. The BCH code has been used as the outer code and the convolutional code as the inner code. We have modeled the channels which have multipath fading phenomena and additive white Gaussian noise. As a result, the characteristics of the channels are identical to that of the mobile fading channel. To find the best code system, we have tested (7, 4), (63, 45), (63, 57) and (31.26) BCH codes as an outer code. Results show that the concatenated code with (7, 4) outer code gives the best performance. And if we use the soft decision, we can improve about 2 -6 dB in the SNR

HFC CATV 망의 전송 및 데이터 통신

  • In this paper, HFC CATV networks are introduced. HFC CATV networks are currently considered as a most effective and plausible solution for subscriber access networks in the information superhighway, among others such as ADSL and B-WLL. The advantages of HFC CATV networks include its broad upstream and downstream channel bandwidths, much wider than PSTN's and its readiness. The HFC CATV networks are already well spread among the general subscribers in Korea. This fact will shorten the installation period and significantly reduce its cost. In addition, The structure and channel environment of the HFC CATV networks are introduced. At the same time, in this paper included are major problems in the HFC CATV networks and the solutions for these problems. Also discussed are data transmission, medium access control, IEEE802.14, and MCNS for standardizations. Moreover, additional telecommunications service activities in both Korea and other countries, using HFC CATV networks are also included. The topics which are covered in detail are the ones such as interoperation between HFC CATV networks and trunk line and the digital transmission performance test for the CATV networks. In the performance test, it is concluded that HFC CATV networks can satisfy the QoS for various additional services if the number of the subscribers in a cell is limited to less than 500 and other minor requirements are satisfied. Based on all these discussions and conclusions, HFC CATV networks are suggested in this paper for the subscriber access networks of the so called information superhighway.

Digital Chaotic Communication System Based on CDSK Modulation (CDSK 방식의 디지털 카오스 통신 시스템)

  • Recently, interest for wireless communication technology with improved security and low eavesdropping probability is increasing rapidly recognizing that information security is an important. Chaos signal can be used encode information efficiently due to irregular phenomena. Chaotic signal is very sensitive to the initial condition. Chaos signal is difficult to detect the signal if you do not know the initial conditions. Also, chaotic signal has robustness to multipath interference. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of correlation delay shift keying (CDSK) modulation with different chaotic map such as Tent map, Logistic map, Henon map, and Bernoulli shift map. Also, we analyze the BER performance depending on the selection of spreading factor (SF) in CDSK. Through the theoretical analyses and simulations, it is confirmed that Henon map has better BER performance than the other three chaotic maps when spreading factor is 70.

  • Applying VR technology to animation areas is emerging as a trend of recent years. So if you use this VR technology in traditional ink animation, 2D art piece is expected to be equipped with a new narrative style and visual and auditory language, making it a new animation genre. There's a lot of technical difficulties in putting the existing 2D ink image on a 360 degree display. VR ink animation has been created that gives depth to VR space by using layer extraction method based on depth of distance and placing layers extracted on curved surface that is aligned with depth in 360-degree space in the image of ink painting, which is the background of traditional ink animation. In the text, we took an overview on problems generated in extracting layers of distant view, close-range view and middle distant view from the existing image of ink painting and made suggestions of an effective way to approach them.

  • Nowdays, Most of Internet Contents delivered as a compressed file. It gives many advantages like deduction of communication bandwidth and transmission time etc. In case of JPEG Compression, Quantization is the most important procedure which accomplish the compression. In general signal processing, Quantization is the process which converts continuous analog signal to discrete digital signal. As you known already, Quantization over JPEG compression is to reduce magnitude of pixel value in spatial domain or coefficient in frequency domain. A lot of Data Hiding algorithms also developed to applicable for those compressed files. In this paper, we are going to unveil the influence of quantization table which used in the process of JPEG compression. Even thought most of algorithm modify frequency coefficients with considering image quality, they are ignoring the influence of quantization factor corresponding with the modified frequency coefficient. If existing algorithm adapt this result, they can easily evaluate their performances.
