A Study on Evaluation Model Development and Improvement of Web-Archival Information Service (대통령기록관의 웹 기반 기록정보서비스 평가모델 개발 및 개선 방안에 관한 연구)

  • The Presidential Archive of Korea provides archival information services in various forms. This study evaluated web-archival information services provided in The Presidential Archive of Korea using DigQUAL. To perform the study, this study conducted a descriptive statistic and confidence tests. The evaluation method was accomplished user survey. And the evaluation territory was classified with archives and information search, archives use service, expansion service. As a result, a general satisfaction was low, and this study suggested improvement method for web archival service in the Presidential Archive of Korea.

  • With development of web, web-archival information services using research records are diversified because values of the records increase in terms of preservation, use and share. Thus, it is necessary to understand and discuss current situation and improvement in future of web-archival information service. This study develops evaluation measures for web-archival information service based on DigiQUAL and NDSLQual, reflecting characteristics of research records. To confirm the validity of the proposed measures, questionnaires were built based on the indicators and distributed to real users of NTIS, which is a case of web-archival information services using research records. Finally, this study analyzes problems of web-archival information services using research records and recommend improvement methods.

  • This study designed a research model to improve the service quality of a Construction Technology Digital Library System (CODIL), which is operated to enhance the technical competitiveness of construction and engineering companies. SERVQUAL, LibQUAL+, and DigiQUALTM are models for measuring the library service quality. This study examined the factors used in SERVQUAL, LibQUAL+, and DigiQUALTM to objectively select the measurement factors used in the research model. This study selected the factors that reflect the characteristics of CODIL among the factors investigated. Next, this study was conducted with a sample of CODIL members. The correlations between the independent variables and a dependent variable were analyzed, and the factors and influence of CODIL on the user satisfaction were examined. These results can be used as useful data to improve the service of digital libraries in other specialized fields.

  • This paper aims to describe the measurement and improvement of academic library service quality by ISA (Importance-Satisfaction Analysis). This research established service quality model on based LibQUAL+(R). It consisted of 18 items that formed three dimensions, affect of service quality, information control quality, and library as place quality. To execute this research, the service quality according the users' importance and satisfaction of library service is measured through Gaps model and ISA. The data for this case study was collected through the survey conducted the users of the H University library. By applying SPSS 17.0 and Excel 2007, the final 113 surveys were used for analysis.

A Study on the Evaluation and Improvement of the Korean National Assembly Digital Library by Applying ISA(Importance-Satisfaction Analysis) (ISA를 적용한 국회전자도서관 품질 평가와 개선방안 수립)

  • The goal of this study was to examine ways to improve the quality of databases of the Korean National Assembly Digital Library(KNADL). In order to achieve the goal, we first designed an assessment tool that could measure the quality of the 'contents,' the 'service,' and the 'system' of the KNADL's databases. Each of the three categories also had sub-categories-i.e., eight sub-categories for 'contents'(e.g., accuracy, recency, ${\cdots}$), seven sub-categories for 'service'(e.g., convenience for request, rapid response, ${\cdots}$), and seven sub-categories for 'system'(e.g., usability, response time, ${\cdots}$). We thenconducted a survey using the assessment tool we developed and gathered a total of 270 responses from users of KNADL's databases. We used Excel and PASW Statistics 18 for data analysis. Each sub-category was measured by its importance and by the level of satisfaction(implemented from the DigiQUAL project). Finally, we performed an importance-satisfaction analysis(ISA) to identify what action(i.e., maintain, concentrate, low priority, and exceed) needs to be made in each sub-category. We concluded the paper with some useful suggestions for improving the quality of KNADL's databases.
