광위상변조기 제작용 Single Channel 및 1$^\circ$ Y-branch Mach-Zehnder간섭기형 Ti:LiNbO$_3$ 도파로 Pigtailing 및 도파실험 (Pigtailing and Guiding Experiments of Single and 1$^\circ$ Y-branch Ti:LiNbO$_3$ Mach-Zehnder Inteferometric Optical Waveguide for fabricating an Optical Phase Modulator)

  • We report some methods for measuring a LiNbO$_3$ optical phase modulator bandwidth. Since Mach-Zehnder waveguide type, one of methods for modulation bandwidth measurement, is comparatively simple and useful, it was adapted in this work. In order to confirm this method, the waveguide of single and Mach-Zehnder type were fabricated on the same wafer. The Mach-Zehnder interferometric waveguide and the single channel waveguide were used for the measurement of the phase modulator's driving voltage and bandwidth for device fabrications, respectively. Ti-860$\AA$ in-diffusion was achieved in a wet-bubbling oxygen environment at 105$0^{\circ}C$/8hours. LINbO$_3$ internal chips were pigtailed to PMF(polarization maintaining fiber)/SMF(single mode fiber) using an epoxy curing technique. Examined were optical properties such as an insertion loss, propagation loss and mode size, and the loss mechanism of optical coupling between an optical fiber and a waveguide was considered.

A comparison on the heat load of HTS current leads with respect to uniform and non-uniform cross-sectional areas

  • Current lead is a device that connects the power supply and superconducting magnets. High temperature superconductor (HTS) has lower thermal conductivity and higher current density than normal metal. For these reasons, the heat load can be reduced by replacing the normal metal of the current lead with the HTS. Conventional HTS current lead has same cross-sectional area in the axial direction. However, this is over-designed at the cold-end (4.2 K) in terms of current. The heat load can be reduced by reducing this part because the heat load is proportional to the cross-sectional area. Therefore, in this paper, heat load was calculated from the heat diffusion equation of HTS current leads with uniform and non-uniform cross-sectional areas. The cross-sectional area of the warm-end (65K) is designed considering burnout time when cooling system failure occurs. In cold-end, Joule heat and heat load due to current conduction occurs at the same time, so the cross-sectional area where the sum of the two heat is minimum is obtained. As a result of simulation, current leads for KSTAR TF coils with uniform and non-uniform cross-sectional areas were designed, and it was confirmed that the non-uniform cross-sectional areas could further reduce the heat load.

디지털 경영에서 고객관계 활성화를 위한 인터넷 쇼핑몰의 서비스 품질에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Customer Relationship Activation based on Service Quality of Internet Shopping Mall)

  • This study attempts to find out what kind of service quality is considered important by customers in using the Internet shopping mall and suggests the way to activate the customer relationship. The findings based on empirical analysis are shown here. First, empirical analysis of the contextual factors such as gender, education, and experience levels, shows that what customers perceive as most important in the product purchase is security in terms of the payment and personal information service. The second important service quality factor perceived by customers is responsiveness, particularly the rapidity and accuracy of response to their needs and wants. The customers also considered price, quality and diversity of the product as being important. Furthermore, there is no big difference among other service quality factors. Second, in the different gender context, there is no significant difference between the genders. However, the male group shows an even distribution of factors valued in the service quality, whereas female respondents placed stronger emphases on particular aspects of service, such as security, response, reliability and product quality. Third, in the context of different education level, the payment method between graduates and non-graduates has a significant difference. That is, the non-graduates prefer the credit card and saving through ATM, while the graduates use dual payment method using credit card and another payment method together. Therefore, the various payment methods should be considered according to the customer type, namely graduates or non-graduates. Fourth, in the context of different experience level, the result of the empirical analysis of the factors of the service quality shows no great difference between experienced and inexperienced customers. Both types of customer perceive security as the most important. To sum up, the service quality perceived by the customers of Internet shopping malls is empirically analyzed in different contexts such as gender, education, and experience. Then, the device for the customer relationship activation is suggested. It can be utilized as a guideline for the continuing diffusion of the Internet shopping mall, giving it a competitive advantage against other companies.

SiGe에 이온 주입과 열처리에 의한 불순물 분포의 연구 (A Study of Dopant Distribution in SiGe Using Ion Implantation and Thermal Annealing)

  • For the investigation of dopant profiles in implanted $Si_{1-x}Ge_x$, the implanted B and As profiles are measured using SIMS (secondary ion mass spectrometry). The fundamental ion-solid interactions of implantation in $Si_{1-x}Ge_x$ are discussed and explained using SRIM, UT-marlowe, and T-dyn programs. The annealed simulation profiles are also analyzed and compared with experimental data. In comparison with the SIMS data, the boron simulation results show 8% deviations of $R_p$ and 1.8% deviations of ${\Delta}R_p$ owing to relatively small lattice strain and relaxation on the sample surface. In comparison with the SIMS data, the simulation results show 4.7% deviations of $R_p$ and 8.1% deviations of ${\Delta}R_p$ in the arsenic implanted $Si_{0.2}Ge_{0.8}$ layer and 8.5% deviations of $R_p$ and 38% deviations of ${\Delta}R_p$ in the $Si_{0.5}Ge_{0.5}$ layer. An analytical method for obtaining the dopant profile is proposed and also compared with experimental and simulation data herein. For the high-speed CMOSFET (complementary metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor) and HBT (heterojunction bipolar transistor), the study of dopant profiles in the $Si_{1-x}Ge_x$ layer becomes more important for accurate device scaling and fabrication technologies.

  • Glow Discharge를 이용한 고체 시료의 극미량 원소분석은 흡광, 방출, 형광 그리고 질량 분석 방법들이 특히 금속 시료들의 분석을 위해 많이 연구되어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 자체 제작한 Gas-Jet-assisted Glow Discharge(GJGD)를 이용하여 각 실험변수에 따른 영향을 비교하여 보았다. 제작한 글로우 방전의 특성화 실험에 사용한 실험 변수로는 전류, 방전 가스의 흐름 속도, 압력 등이었고 시료는 황동을 사용하였다. 시료의 주원소인 구리(Cu)와 아연(Zn)의 방출선세기와 방전가스인 아르곤(Ar)의 상대적인 세기를 비교하여 보았는데, 대체적으로 전류의 증가는 튕겨나옴(Sputtering) 현상을 촉진시켜 방출선의 세기가 증가하였고 가스 흐름 속도는 플라즈마 속으로의 수송과 확산에 관여하여 증가될수록 방출선의 세기를 감소시켰다. 글로우 방전 내의 압력의 증가는 튕겨나옴 현상을 감소시킴과 더불어 시료 표면으로의 재부착을 증가시켜 방출선의 세기가 급격히 감소함을 보여 주었다.

  • 사물인터넷(IoT)의 급속한 확산과 스마트 디바이스의 보급으로 인해서 실생활의 사물 간 통신에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 특히, iBeacon의 BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) 통신을 이용한 다양한 서비스가 스마트폰 앱으로 많이 등장하고 있다. BLE 통신은 페어링과정이 필요하지 않기 때문에 통신 범위 안에 BLE 통신이 가능한 모든 스마트 디바이스들에게 메시지 전송이 가능하다. 따라서 이 메시지를 수신한 사용자가 악의적인 목적을 가지고 사용될 수 있기 때문에 이를 위한 보안 방법이 필요하다. iBeacon에 보안 방법을 적용하기 위해서는 iBeacon 메시지의 암호화 방법과 이를 인증하기 위한 방안이 동시에 적용되어야 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 OTP(One Time Password) 방법을 적용한 보안 방안을 제안한다. 또한 이를 적용한 출결시스템을 통해 제안한 방법으로 성능측정을 함으로서 이 보안 방법의 유효함을 증명 한다.

가스난방용 적외선 히터의 연소배기가스 특성해석 (Analysis of the Characteristics of Flue Gas in Infrared Mobile Heaters for Gas Room Heating)

  • 본 연구에서는 부탄가스를 연료로 사용하고 있는 이동식 적외선 가스히터의 연소시 배출되는 배기가스의 농도수준과 특성을 분석하였다. 실험은 연소 챔버의 크기와 챔버의 온도를 고려하여 실험을 수행하였다. 산소결핍 안전장치가 작동하는 $O_2$의 농도는 챔버의 내용적에 관계없이 $18.3\%$로 각각 나타났고, 작동하는 시간은 내용적이 클수록 늦게 작동하였다. 밀폐공간에서 연소시 $O_2$$CO_2$는 선형성을 가지며, CO농도는 $O_2$$CO_2$의 발생수준과는 관계없이 연소가 시작된 10분 이후부터 그 발생폭이 불규칙적으로 크게 나타났다. 이들 결과는 가스 난방기를 실내에서 사용할 때 충분한 환기를 통하여 불안전 연소를 방지하고 $O_2$ 감소에 따른 질식사고와 CO에 의한 중독사고를 예방할 수 있다는 측면에서 대단히 중요하다.

합성체 S-Box 기반 최적의 ARIA 암호프로세서 설계 (Design of Optimized ARIA Crypto-Processor Using Composite Field S-Box)

  • LUT 기반의 S-Box를 사용하는 기존의 ARIA 알고리듬은 처리속도는 빠르지만 회로의 크기가 매우 커지게 되어 저면적이 요구되는 소형의 휴대용 기기에는 적용하기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 하드웨어 면적의 감소를 위해 개선된 합성체 S-Box를 기반으로 한 최적의 ARIA 암호프로세서 설계를 제안한다. ARIA 알고리듬에서의 키 스케쥴링 과정에서 확산 및 치환 계층에서 반복적으로 사용한다. 여기에서는 또한, 키 스케쥴링 과정에서의 사용 면적을 최소화하는 방안으로 치환과 확산 계층에서 하드웨어 자원의 공유 방법을 제안한다. 설계된 ARIA 암호프로세서는 Verilog-HDL을 이용하여 회로를 기술하였고, Xilinx XC3S1500을 타겟으로 하여 논리 합성을 수행하였다. 설계된 시스템의 기능 검증을 위해 Mentor사의 Modelsim 10.4a 툴을 이용하여 논리 및 타이밍 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다.

Modification of RFSP to Accommodate a True Two-Group Treatment

  • RFSP is a computer program to do fuel management calculations for CANDU reactors. Its main function is to calculate neutron flux and power distributions using two-energy-group, three dimensional neutron diffusion theory. However, up to now the treatment has not been true two-group but actually "one-and-half groups". In other words, the previous (1.5-group) version of RFSP lumps the fast fission term into the thermal fission term. This is based on the POWDERPUFS-V Westcott convention. Also, there is no up-scattering term or bundle power over cell flux (H1 factor) for the fast group. While POWDERPUFS-V provides only 1.5 group properties, true two-group cross sections for the design and analysis of CAUDU reactors can be obtained from WIMS-AECL. To treat the full two-group properties, the previous RFSP version was modified by adding the fast fission, up-scatter terms, and H1 factor. This two-group version of RFSP is a convenient tool to accept lattice properties from any advanced lattice code (e.g. WIMS-AECL DRAGON, HELIOS...) and to apply to advanced fuel cycles. In this study, the modification to implement the true two-group treatment was performed only in the subroutines of the *SIMULATE module of RFSP. This module is the appropriate one to modify first, since it is used for the tracking of reactor operating histories. The modified two-group RFSP was evaluated with true two-group cross sections from WIMS-AECL. Some tests were performed to verify the modified two-group RFSP and to evaluate the effects of fast fission and up-scatter for three core conditions and four cases corresponding to each condition. The comparisons show that the two-group results are quite reasonable and serve as a verification of the modifications made to RFSP. To assess the long-term impact of the full 2-group treatment, it is necessary to simulate a long period (several months) of reactor history. It will also be necessary to implement the full two-group treatment of reactivity devices and assess the reactivity-device worths.ce worths.

유무기 융복합 흡착제의 아세트알데하이드 제거 성능 평가 (Evaluation of acetaldehyde removal performance of a hybrid adsorbent consisting of organic and inorganic materials)

  • To abate the problem of odor from restaurants, a hybrid adsorbent consisting of organic and inorganic materials was developed and evaluated using acetaldehyde as a model compound was deveioped and evaluated. Powders of activated carbon, bentonite, and calcium hydroxide were mixed and calcinated to form adsorbent structure. The surface area of the hybrid adsorbent was smaller than that of high-quality activated carbon, but its microscopic image showed that contours and pores were developed on its surface. To determine its adsorption capacity, both batch isotherm and continuous flow column experiments were performed, and these results were compared with those using commercially available activated carbon. The isotherm tests showed that the hybrid adsorbent had a capacity 40 times higher than that of the activated carbon. In addition, the column experiments revealed that breakthrough time of the hybrid adsorbent was 2.5 times longer than that of the activated carbon. These experimental results were fitted to numerical simulations by using a homogeneous surface diffusion model (HSDM); the model estimated that the hybrid adsorbent might be able to remove acetaldehyde at a concentration of 40 ppm for a 5-month period. Since various odor compounds are commonly emitted as a mixture when meat is barbecued, it is necessary to conduct a series of experiments and HSDM simulations under various conditions to obtain design parameters for a full-scale device using the hybrid adsorbent.
