Time-of-flight (TOF) PET detectors with fast-rise-time scintillators and fast-single photon time resolution silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) have been developed to improve the coincidence timing resolution (CTR) to sub-100 ps. The CTR can be further improved with an optimal bandwidth and minimized electronic noise in the readout circuit and this helps reduce the distortion of the fast signals generated from the TOF-PET detector. The purpose of this study was to develop an ultra-high frequency and fully-differential (UF-FD) readout circuit that minimizes distortion in the fast signals produced using TOF-PET detectors, and suppresses the impact of the electronic noise generated from the detector and front-end readout circuits. The proposed UF-FD readout circuit is composed of two differential amplifiers (time) and a current feedback operational amplifier (energy). The ultra-high frequency differential (7 GHz) amplifiers can reduce the common ground noise in the fully-differential mode and minimize the distortion in the fast signal. The CTR and energy resolution were measured to evaluate the performance of the UF-FD readout circuit. These results were compared with those obtained from a high-frequency and single ended readout circuit. The experiment results indicated that the UF-FD readout circuit proposed in this study could substantially improve the best achievable CTR of TOF-PET detectors.

This paper describes a principle of the conducted noise separator which can separate the conducted noise to the common mode and differential mode(normal mode), and presents the transfer characteristics of the separator designed and manufactured. We separated the conducted noise generated from switched mode converter to the CM and DM conducted noise, and also analyzed the source and path of conducted noise in the converter by the conducted noise separator. Since we could easily get the characteristics of the CM and DM conducted noise by the separator, we could efficiently determine the contermeasures for the reduction of the conducted noise and establish the foundation of the systematic procedure for the design of low pass filter.

In order to check the validity of nonlinear normal modes of continuous, systems by means of the energy-based formulation, we consider a beam with a nonlinear boundary condition. The initial and boundary e c6nsl of a linear partial differential equation and a nonlinear boundary condition is reduced to a linear boundary value problem consisting of an 8th order ordinary differential equations and linear boundary conditions. After obtaining the asymptotic solution corresponding to each normal mode, we compare this with numerical results by the finite element method.
This paper deals with the characteristic analysis of noise filter for the reduction of conduction noise, especially, common-mode noise. Attenuation in the system containing noise filter is analyzed and equivalent circuits for common- and differential- mode noise are derived. To clarify the effects by parasitic components of the inductor and capacitor, digital simulations using Design Center are carried out.
In this paper, we proposed a high frequency equivalent circuit considering parasitic impedance components for differential noise analysis on the input stage during DC-DC buck converter switching operation. Based on the proposed equivalent circuit model, we presented a method to measure parasitic impedance parameters included in DC bus plate, IGBT, and PCB track using the gain phase method of a network analyzer. In order to verify the validity of this model, a DC-DC prototype consisting of a buck converter, a signal analyzer, and a LISN device, and then resonance frequency was measured in the frequency range between 150 kHz and 30 MHz. The validity of the parasitic impedance measurement method and the proposed equivalent model is verified by deriving that the measured resonance frequency and the resonance frequency of the proposed high frequency equivalent model are the same.

This paper presents conducted emission noise measurement from electronic equipment in frequency range of 1 MHz up to 30 MHz by small loop antenna. Small loop antenna measurement method can measure common-mode (CM) and differential-mode (DM) component of the noise on a pair of power line at the same time. The CM and DM can be measured separately. The theory of this measurement method is introduced and analyzed. The measured results were compared with the conventional measurement by Line Impedance Stabilization Network (LISN) and result a good trend between those methods.

This paper presents new LVDS I/O circuits with a high noise margin for use in highly parallel I/O environments. The proposed LVDS I/O includes transmitter and receiver parts. The transmitter circuits consist of a differential phase splitter and a output stage with common mode feedback(CMFB). The differential phase splitter generates a pair of differential signals which have a balanced duty cycle and $180^{\circ}$ phase difference over a wide supply voltage variation due to SSO(simultaneous switching output) noises. The CMFB output stage produces the required constant output current and maintains the required VCM(common mode voltage) within ${\pm}$0.1V tolerance without external circuits in a SSO environment. The proposed receiver circuits in this paper utilizes a three-stage structure(single-ended differential amp., common source amp., output stage) to accurately receive high-speed signals. The receiver part employs a very wide common mode input range differential amplifier(VCDA). As a result, the receiver improves the immunities for the common mode noise and for the supply voltage difference, represented by Vgdp, between the transmitter and receiver sides. Also, the receiver produces a rail-to-rail, full swing output voltage with a balanced duty cycle(50% ${\pm}$ 3%) without external circuits in a SSO environment, which enables correct data recovery. The proposed LVDS I/O circuits have been designed and simulated with 0.18um TSMC library using H-SPICE.
Common-mode noise (CMN) is an unresolved problem in wireless capsule endoscopy (WCE) systems. In a WCE system, CMN originates from various electric currents found within the human body or external interference sources and causes critical demodulation performance degradation. The differential operation, a typical method for the removal of CMN rejection, can remove CMN by subtracting two signals simultaneously received by two reception sensors attached to a human body. However, when there is impedance mismatching between the two reception sensors, the differential operation method cannot completely remove CMN. Therefore, to overcome this problem, we propose an enhanced CMN rejection method. The proposed method performs not only subtraction but also addition between two received signals. Then a CMN ratio can be estimated by sufficient accumulation of division operation outcomes between the subtraction and addition outputs during the guard period. Finally, we can reject the residual CMN by combining the subtraction and addition outputs.

Eigenvalue analysis of vibration mode and an analysis by frequency response among the methods of predicting gear noise are related with transmitting sound of vibration. In this study we intended to reduce the vibration noise of differential gear by reducing torque fluctuation of drive pinion shaft which causes vibration noise of differential gear in rear wheel drive vehicles. For this we developed multi-degree of freedom analysis model in which mass moment of inertia and torsional spring combined and we examined the influence of torsional vibration of driveline elements by performing forced vibration analysis of engine excitation torque. We studied the methods for reducing torsional vibration of driveline according to the design factor of propeller shaft and examined the effects reducing vibration in differential gear by applying flexible coupling.

The differential equations governing in-plane free vibrations of stepped circular arcs, including the effects of axial deformation, rotatory inertia and shear deformation, are derived and solved numerically to obtain frequencies and mode shapes. Numerical results are calculated for the clamped-clamped symmetric and unsymmetric circular arcs with thickness varying in a discontinuous fashion. The lowest four natural frequencies and mode shapes are presented over a range of non-dimensional system parameters: the subtended angle, the slenderness ratio, the section ratio and the ratio of discontinuous section.
