  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the differences of user´s satisfaction of development elements of natural recreation forest(NFR) developed by public and private bodies in order to answer the research question: What is the differences of user´s satisfaction of development elements of NFR\ulcorner After reviewing the literature, mechanism of outdoor recreation, and development elements in NRF, we constructed the conceptual framework and have formulated the hypothesis of this research. We had obtained data through a questionnaire, which surveyed 584 visitors at 10 of the 72 natural recreation forests in Korea in 1999. We have analyzed the data using he descriptive statistical method, the mean difference test, and logistic regression method. We have found that 1) all the development elements have turned out to be significantly different from the mean difference test, 2) the two elements of atmosphere and activity have turned out to be statistically significant in determining the difference of NFR developed by public and private body in logistic regression analysis while user´s satisfaction in recreational resources, facilities and service make no differences between public and private NRF, 3) the higher the degree of user´s satisfaction in atmosphere and activity at NFR, the more the NFR developed by private body, and 4) their relative contribution of atmosphere and activities on whether the NFR is developed by public or private body have been turned out to have 0.258 and 0.242 respectively, which have a similar importance. The research results suggest that a guideline for the creation of marketable NFR by public and private developer, and development of use-programs and recreational atmosphere be recommended in the planning and development process of NRF. The approach and anlaysis method adopted by this research is highly useful for an evaluation of NRF developed by the tow bodies and development of devices for increasing user´s satisfaction and marketing positioning of NRF by the tow developers. It is recommended that more empirical study on individual development elements affecting user´s satisfaction be performed in the future.

  • Background: Studies have shown the existence of gender- and age-related differences in the incidence and anatomic distribution of colorectal cancers. The purposes of this study were to analyze the distribution characteristics of colorectal cancer patients regarding gender, age, location and tumor size in the course of colonoscopy. Materials and Methods: All colorectal cancer patients who underwent colonoscopy in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from 2003 to 2012 were included in our retrospective study. Demographic information (age and gender) and colonoscopy report information (tumor size and location) were collected and analyzed. To compare the gender differences in tumor location and tumor size, as well as the size differences in tumor location, the chi-square test was used. Results: A total of 3, 369 colorectal cancer patients (2, 007 men vs 1, 362 women) were included in our study. Statistical analysis showed there was no gender difference in the anatomic distribution of the tumors (p>0.05). However, there was a gender difference in tumor size (p<0.05). In addition, our study found there was a significant difference in tumor size between rectal and colon tumors (p<0.001). Conclusions: There was no gender difference in the anatomic distribution of colorectal tumors. In addition, tumors observed in men were larger than in women.

  • The current study examined college students' overall eating behavior and physical activity, highlighting differences between male and female students attending a public university in the southwestern United States. Research findings indicated that many college students did not eat enough fruits, fruit juices, and green salad. Furthermore, the results of Chi-square analysis showed that there were significant differences in consumption amounts of green salad, hamburgers/hot dogs/sausage, and French fries/potato chips between male and female students. Study findings showed that when students were asked about attributes of food/restaurant choice, female students were more concerned about nutritional aspects when they chose the foods compared with male students. In terms of physical activity levels among college students, male students were more likely to participate in sports activities and weight training. On the other hand, female students were more inclined to walking or bicycling.

  • This research was designed to find decision factors through color assortment planning process by Korean women's clothing merchandisers and to look for if there exists difference with American women's clothing merchandisers. A merchandise assortment is a collection of various quantities of styles, colors, sizes, and prices of related merchandise, usually grouped under one classification within a department. The subjects were 20 women's clothing merchandisers who work for clothing retail stores from 5 to 22 years in US and Korea. The authoring process was done for qualitative data analysis. The decision factors of color assortment planning were identified with four stages; information search, qualitative evaluation, quantitative evaluation, and selection. There were differences of color assortment decision factors due to different business types, business sizes, fashion-ability, sourcing ways, and merchandise turnover. Noticeable color assortment decision factor differences caused by country difference were not found except considering the target market ethnicity and skin color in US market. Korea merchandisers seem to be more sensitive to present sales data usages and spot order availability in color assortments because of more local production use than American merchandisers.

  • 66 patients with low back pain were evaluated to determine if any differences of weight bearing were existed between the same side leg that feel pain(pain side leg) and that without pain (non-pain side leg) of lower extremities while weight bearing. 66 patients were divided into 3 groups according to pain pattern such as low back pain only(26), radiating pain only(21) and low back pain with radiating pain (19). Control group were 28 normal persons. The weight bearing was rated by Limloader(Model LLD-2000, Ver 1.2) and analyzed by paired and independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Dunan's analaysis and Pearson's correlation analysis. The results of this study were as follows : 1. In patient group, significant difference of weight bearing rating between pain side leg and non-pain side leg was found. There was borne significantly less weight bearing rating(14.68%) on the pain side leg(P<.001). 2. In normal group, there was no significant difference between left and right leg(P>.05). But there was significant difference(3.21%) in absolute difference of both leg(p<.001). 3. The difference of 1 and 2 was 11.47% : more difference of weight bearing rating between both legs in patient group than that of the control group(p<.001). 4. There were significant differences of weight bearing rating in those 3 groups : low back pain group(10.30%), radiating pain group (17.90%) and low back pain with radiating pain group (17.10%) (p<.001). 5. There was significant correlation between pain intensity and difference of weight bearing rating(p<.05). The severer pain intensity. the more difference of weight bearing rating was found. 6. There was no significant correlation between the age, height and duration of symptom, etc(p>.05).

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the asymmetric degree between maxillofacial hard and soft tissues in individuals with facial asymmetry. Computerized tomographies (CT) of 34 adults (17 male, 17 female) who had facial asymmetry were taken. The CT images were transmitted to personal computers and then reconstructed into three-dimensional (3D) images through the use of computer software. In order to evaluate the degree of facial asymmetry, 6 measurements were constructed as the hard tissue measurements while 6 counterpart measurements were taken as the soft tissue measurements. The means and standard deviations were obtained for each measurement using 3D measure, then t-test was used to investigate the differences between each hard tissue measurement and the corresponding soft tissue measurement All measurements used in the present study showed statistically significant differences between the hard and soft tissues. The degree of soft tissue asymmetry was smaller than that of corresponding hard tissue asymmetry in case of chin deviation, frontal ramal inclination difference, and frontal corpus inclination difference. On the other hand, the degree of soft tissue asymmetry was greater than that of underlying hard tissue asymmetry in the measurement of lip canting and lip cheilion height difference The present study suggests that asymmetric differences of hard and soft tissue is observed nu facial asymmetric subjects and thus soft tissue analysis is needed in addition to hard tissue analysis when making an evaluation of facial asymmetry.

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate whether there were differences between the Paternal child rearing Involvement and the Parental Satisfaction according to child's sex, father's age and the birth order of child. The subjects surveyed were 271 fathers 132 in their thiries and 139 in their forties who live in Kwang-ju. And the children considered are 128 boys and 143 girls. Among them, first-born children are 143 members, second-born are 103, and third-born are 25. Factor analysis, frequencies, mean, standard deviation, Cronbach's α, one way-ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and step-wise regression are used for data-analysis. The main results were as follows : (1) There were some significant differences in the Paternal child rearing Involvement according to the child's sex, while there was no difference as related the father's age and the birth-order of child. (2) The were some significant differences in the father's Parental Satisfaction which is involved child's sex and the father's age, but there was no difference as to the birth-order of child. (3) There were some significant differences between the Paternal Child rearing Involvement and the Parental Satisfaction, and between its subfactor and the Parental Satisfaction, too. (4) The result of the step-wise regression, which analyses the Paternal child rearing Involvement and the background variables as to father's Parental Satisfaction, shows the Parent-child relationship variable (accounted for about32% of the general variation), spouse support, support of children, general satisfaction, and parent's role conflict at intensity in order. Of the above mentioned five fields, house-activities were the first factor in determining this order. And the personal interaction plays an important role in fulfilling general satisfaction and the support of children. The leisure-action factor was the second explanatory factor in establishing the parent-child relationship. Finally father's age was the fourth explanatory factor in assessing the parent-child relationship variable considering the background variables.
