LTCC System 에서의 Stripline 구조 특성 연구 (Analysis of Stripline Structure(Resonator) in LTCC System)

  • LTCC를 이용하여 2차원, 3차원 회로를 구성하는 경우에 R, L, C의 수동소자 이외에 stripline이나 microstripline인 같은 전송선로들이 첨가되게 된다. 따라서 이러한 전송선로들에 대한 정확한 분석을 필요로 하게 된다. 전송선로의 특성에서 유전체의 유효 유전율과 유전체 손실값, 도체의 유효 전기전 도도와 같은 물성치와 도체 및 유전체 표면의 거칠기, 구조의 크기와 같은 기하학적인 특성들이 영향을 주게 된다. 본 연구에서는 스트립라인 구조을 대상으로 위의 물성치와 구조에 관한 변수들을 정량화 함으로써 stripline구조를 분석하고 그 특성을 정량화하였다.

온도보상된 유전체공진기 필터를 이용한 10Gbit/s 클럭추출회로 (10 Gbit/s Timing recovery circuit using temperature compensated dielectric resonantor filter)

  • A timing recovery circuit of 10 Gbit/s optical receiver is described. The circuit consists of a passive NRZ-to-PRZ circuit, a dielectric resonator filter (DRF) and a narrow band amplifier, which for the first time adopted a temperature compensation technique using the tempareature characteristics of DR. The experimental results showed an output clock phase variation of less than ${\pm}$6 degree over the operating temperature range form 0$^{\circ}C$ to 75$^{\circ}C$ and measured maximum rms jitters of less than 2 phs with the resonance detunings of up to ${\pm}$10 MHz. These experimental results show that the circuit is a suitable for 10 Gbit/s lightwave transmission system.

  • To obtain a higher dielectric constant material, we investigated Ca substitution for Pb in PbZrO3. In this study, the four mixtures of (Pb0.68Ca0.32)ZrO3, (Pb0.65Ca0.37)ZrO3, (Pb0.63Ca0.37)ZrO3, and (Pb0.60Ca0.40)ZrO3 were prepared by coprecipitation reaction of Pb(NO3)2, ZrOCl2, and CaCl2 with (NH4)2CO3 and NH4OH in aqueous solution. The (Pb1-xCax)ZrO3 with different x mole fractions (x=0.35, 0.37) showed not only high dielectric constant, but also high Q values and low temperature coefficient of the capacitance.

  • A new LTCC material in the $PbWO_4-TiO_2-B_2O_3-CuO$ system was developed. The developed material can be sintered at $850^{\circ}C$ and its dielectric properties are $\varepsilon_r=20-25, Q\timesf_o=30000~50000GHz$ , and $\tau_f=0.2~30ppm/^{\circ}C$, depending on the components moi ratio. Due to its low sintering temperature and microwave dielectric properties, the developed material can be used as a LTCC substrate for fabrication of multilayered microwave communication module set. In present study, using this material, tape casting condition was established. With this processing condition, a T-resonator was fabricated and its electrical properties were examined. Also, a 2-Pole band pass filter was fabricated and its frequency characteristics were compared with simulation results.

  • Effects of sintering temperature and time on relative permittivity $\varepsilon$$\_$r/, unloaded quality factor Q$.$f and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency $\tau$$\_$f/ of dielectric resonator materials produced from commercial ZST powder were investigated in some detail. Q$.$f values, as determined from cavity perturbation method at 1.6 GHz, gradually increased with sintering temperature reaching the maximum at 1420$^{\circ}C$. However, bulk density and relative permittivity values, which increased with temperature, started to decrease above 1380$^{\circ}C$. In addition, Q$.$f values slightly increased with sintering time at the sintering temperature of 1300$^{\circ}C$∼1380$^{\circ}C$, while bulk density and relative permittivity values were approximately constant. It was also found that $\tau$$\_$f/ values were not affected by sintering temperature and time within the experimental conditions used.

  • In the previous study, a new LTCC material in the PbWO$_4$-TiO$_2$-B$_2$O$_3$-CuO system was introduced. The developed material can be sintered at 850$^{\circ}C$ and its dielectric properties are $\varepsilon$$\sub$r/=20-25, Qxf$\sub$o/=30000∼500000Hz, and $\tau$$\sub$f/=0.2∼30ppm/$^{\circ}C$, respectively Therefore this material can be used as a LTCC substrate material for fabrication of multilayered high frequency communication module set. In present study, using this material, tape casting condition was established. With this condition, a multilayered resonator was fabricated and its electrical properties were examined. In present study, an antenna-duplexer module was also fabricated. Frequency characteristics of as-fabricated antenna-duplexer module was compared with simulation results.

  • The microwave dielectric properties and their related structural characteristics in solid solutions of (1-$\chi$) Ba($Mg_{1/3}$Nb$_{2/3}$) $O_3$-$\chi$La(Mg$_{2/3}$Nb$_{1}$3) $O_3$(BLMN) have been investigated by measuring the dielectric constant($\varepsilon$r), Q value and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency($\tau$f) and by observing the crystal structure using high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). Microwave dielectric properties showed characteristic features for specific composition. Dielectric constant($\varepsilon$$_{r}$) showed maximum value at the composition which corresponds to the phase boundary between 1 : 2 ordered and 1 : 1 ordered structure. The increase in $\varepsilon$$_{r}$ may be caused by the rattling of ions by incorporating smaller ions and the disordered structure. The variation of temperature coefficient of resonant frequency($\tau$$_{f}$) was investigated in terms of oxygen octahedra tilting.dra tilting.

갭 결합된 단향성 유전체 방사체를 적용한 비방사 유전체 로트만 렌즈 (Non-Radiative Dielectric(NRD) Rotman Lens with Gap-Coupled Unidirectional Dielectric Radiator(UDR))

  • 본 논문에서는 구조적으로 비 방사 유전체 로트만 렌즈에 적절한 갭 결합된 단향성 유전체 방사체를 안테나단으로 갖는 비방사 유전체 로트만 렌즈를 설계하였다. 비방사 유전체 로트만 렌즈는 어레이 팩터의 부엽의 최소화를 위해서 최적화 설계되었고 단향성 유전체 방사체의 공진기와 갭의 길이와 같은 설계 파라미터는 차단 영역 도파관의 등가회로 모델을 이용하여 계산하였다. 동작 주파수는 38 GHz이고 시뮬레이션 되어진 단향성 유전체 방사체의 결과(산란 행렬, 방사 패턴)는 측정되어진 결과와 일치함을 보였다. 단향성 유전체 방사체 안테나단을 포함한 다중빔 피드인 로트만 렌즈의 방사 패턴은 측정되어진 갭 결합된 단향성 유전체 방사체의 방사 패턴에 로트만 렌즈의 최적화된 어레이 팩터를 곱해서 구하였다. 구해진 전체 방사 패턴에서 -60 dB 이상 부엽이 억제되어짐을 알 수 있었다.

  • $Ba(Mg,Ta)O_3-Ba(Co,Nb)O_3$ ceramics were prepared by the conventional mixed oxide method. The ceramics were sintered at the temperature of 1500-$1575^{\circ}C$ for 5[hr.] in air. The crystal structure was investigated by the XRD. The microstructure of the ceramics were observed by SEM. The microwave properties of dielectric resonators were investigated as a function of composition and sintering temperature. $Ba(Mg,Ta)O_3-Ba(Co,Nb)O_3$ ceramics have a structure of complex perovskite type, and have peaks of (101),(102),(201),(202) and (212). In the case of the $0.7Ba(Mg,Ta)O_3-0.3Ba(Co,Nb)O_3$ ceramic resonator, dielectric constant, quality factor and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency(TCRF, ${\tau}_l$) were a good value of 26.5, 11.500 at 10[GHz] and -1.3[ppm/$^{\circ}C$] from $25^{\circ}C$ to $60^{\circ}C$, respectively.

테라헤르츠 영역에서의 BST 박막의 유전 특성 평가 (Terahertz dielectric characteristics of (Ba,Sr)$TiO_3$ thin films)

  • Ferroelectric $(Ba_{0.5}Sr_{0.5})TiO_3$ (BST) thin films of thickness 500nm were deposited on $LaAlO_3$, (LAO) substrates by at $800^{\circ}C$. BST films were characterized for structure using X-ray diffraction (XRD). The surface morphology and thickness of BST the films were characterized by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM). We measured the dielectric properties at microwave frequencies (1~3 GHz) using a symmetrical stripline resonator with shorted ends and terahertz frequencies (0.2~2.5 THz) using a time-domain terahertz spectroscopy. The real and imaginary parts of the complex dielectric constant of the BST thin films on LAO substrates were in agreement with those previously reported.
