In KwangYang steel works power system operation, the ON-LINE application of power system diagnosis technology is indispensable to not only power quality, but also stable operation and economical generation. In cases of stability constraint violation. stable power system operation is obstructed. Steel works power system is consist of 154kV transmission lines, and 345, 154, 22, and 6.6[KV] distributed lines, 5 numbers of substation, 17 units of generators. For this power system operation. loadflow program is developed. Database is tied with Windows GUI application, is designed, and is interfaced with this program. This program put up with loadflow solution of assembled MMI power system, and planed to diagnose of overloads or to imitate entrance, and isolation of equipment.

As increasing the accident of distribution transformers, we need to manage them efficiently. This paper proposes the method for transformer's management using multi-channel wireless data communication. The Data Acquisition System(DAS) was developed to manage transformers and the HDLC protocol applied to the system. Additionally, it will be feasible to diagnose distribution transformers by checking load conditions such as hot spot temperature, ambient temperature, load current, etc. and using adequate algorithm.

This paper develops the deterioration detecting sensor in oil to monitor and diagnose oil-filled transformer more effectively. The on-line inspection of the oil-filled transformers used the temperature, the changes of the capacitance, the $tan{\delta}$ in oil. This sensor was designed based on the concentric cylindrical type so that it could be placed inside of the oil-filled transformer. And comparing to the existing system, it was proven to be appropriate. Establishment of the proposed sensor helps to build the confidence in monitoring of the oil-filled transformers.

Arresters are the best protective device on electrical power systems against transient overvoltages generated by lightning and/or switching operation. Nonetheless, arresters will be deteriorated due to absorption of moisture in the environments of its use, repetition in the protective operation to overvoltages, and some defects at manufacturing. It is therefore important to estimate the electrical characteristic changes of ZnO blocks. In this paper, an accelerated deterioration test by a standard lightning impulse current was carried out to extract parameters needed for diagnosing arrester deterioration, and leakage current components were measured. Total energy applied to the ZnO blocks at each time is 1,050[J] in 8/20[${\mu}s$] impulse current. From the experimental results, we proposed electrical parameters and leakage current level to diagnose arrester soundness.

Laryngeal foreign bodies are not common among the foreign bodies of aerodigestive tract. It is relatively easy to diagnose in acute phase of entry because of a readily\ulcorner available history of intake, and signs or symptoms referable to the foreign body in the highly sensitive air passage. However, on occasion, sudden death by respiratory failure occurs due to complete obstruction of airway. Therefore, it is common and safe to remove the laryngeal foreign bodies by suspension laryngoscope under general anesthesia after tracheostomy. Recently, the authors experienced a case of metallic foreign body in larynx penetrating neck, which was removed by suspension laryngoscope under general anesthesia without any life threatening complication.

Nine dogs with history of lameness and anorexia were presented. On physical examination, all dogs had gait abnormality and six dogs had high body temperature. Their clinical signs were mostly episodic, and only non-specific symptoms were occasionally observed. Arthrocentesis was performed in all dogs, and immune-mediated polyarthritis (IMPA) was diagnosed. Definitive rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and systemic lupus erythematous (SLE) were diagnosed in one dogs, one each. Prednisolone (PDS) was chosen as the first-line therapy for all dogs, except for the one with RA. Most cases responded to PDS but some cases including those of SLE and RA were refractory to PDS. IMPA can be challenging to diagnose due to its vague symptom and is commonly implicated in 'fever of unknown origin'. Therefore, clinicians should consider IMPA as a differential diagnosis when the patient has fever with systemic, non-specific signs, such as anorexia and depression, but does not respond to antibiotics.

Intracardiac velocities were determined and the wave-forms described for 4 flow areas of the normal canine heart following administration of chemical restraint drugs including xylazine HCl, ketamine HCl, and thiopental sodium using pulsed wave Doppler echocardiography. The result was that xylazine HCl and thiopental sodium reduced intracardiac flow velocities through mitral, tricuspid, aortic and pulmonary valves. It is also thought that precautions are required before using these drugs. Patterns of wave-forms had no changes between control and treatment groups. Doppler echocardiography allows the clinician to determine flow velocities across the different valves and within the various chambers of the heart. It is shown that establishing normal values and those related to chemical restraint administrations and knowing what influences them should allow the clinician to non-invasively diagnose a variety of pathological cardiac conditions.

Nicolau syndrome is a rare adverse reaction at the site of an intramuscular injection, and is characterized by severe pain immediately after the injection and rapid development of distinct skin lesions. As this syndrome is rare, it may be overlooked at the early clinical phase and subsequently, clinical outcomes may be worse due to delay in treatment. We report on a female who developed Nicolau syndrome following intramuscular diclofenac injection, which required surgical reconstruction. Understanding the characteristics of Nicolau syndrome and careful surveillance for relevant clinical features may help physicians to more quickly diagnose and treat this condition.

Assessment can be defined as any method used to understand the current knowledge that a student possesses. Assessment may influence decisions about grades, placement, instructional needs, and curriculum. Therefore, the purpose of assessment is to identify how the students think and know, to diagnose the difficulties they face, and to reflect the result of assessment on teaching. But the traditional multiple-choice test failed to evaluate and teach higher-level thinking and problem-solving skills. In this context, performance assessment is being required as an alternative assessment to get better understanding about what the students can do as well as what they know. This article points out some weaknesses of traditional assessments, and comments on the theoretical background and necessity of performance assessment. And it presents more specific information about performance assessment and some examples. It is certain that performance assessment is student-centered and future-oriented. But performance assessment can't be the surest and best way of evaluating the students' abilities. We are just on the way of another experimental stage for improving teaching methodology. More supplementary analyses and further improvements are needed.
