This study aims to compare the 21th edition of Dewey Decimal Classification and the 4th edition of Korean Decimal Classification. Several categories are used for analyzing those classification systems. The purpose of this study was to compare the quality of two schedules with some examples and to analyze important categories of them and to find out the problems of them and also to provide possible suggestions for the improvement of the Korean Decimal Classification System in 21th century.

인간의 내면에서 일어나는 여러 가지 변화들을 인간의 지식으로써 표현하는 것이 여러 언어적인 표현이다. 그러나 인간이 무엇을 알고 있는가에 대하여, 표현하기란 그 누구도 결코 불가능한 것일 수도 있고 그렇지 않을 수도 있다. 그리고 인간의 지식을 표현하는 언어로서 자문자답한다고 하더라도 그 결과는 역시 알 수 없는 미궁으로 빠지게 됨을 그 누구나 공감하게 된다. 그렇다고 한다면 수를 보는 시각과 인류 문명에 대한 시각, 그리고 인간사고에 대해서도 이제 새롭게 볼 수 있는 시각이 요구되고 있다. 새로운 시각으로 수의 성질을 크게 존재 ${\cdot}$ 법칙 ${\cdot}$ 구조와 질서 ${\cdot}$ 힘 ${\cdot}$ 양과 질 ${\cdot}$ 통일로 분류하여 알아보았다. 다른 한편으로는 개인의 수 개념 형성에 초점을 둔 Piaget이론을 소개하고 있다 그리고 경험주의 선구자인 Dewey의 수 개념을 소개하고 있다. 역사와 수, 인체와 수에서는 동이와 수리사상이 인체와 관련된다는 사실은 동 ${\cdot}$ 서양을 막론하고 확인되고 있다. 인체와 수에 대한 것을 동양인 중국 문화권에서 일(一)부터 십(十)까지의 기호를 인체와 연결시켜 소개하였다. 수의 본질을 알고 이해하는 것이 곧 자연현상의 이해이며 그 자연의 일부인 인간을 이해하고 동시에 역사를 이해하는 기본이라 아니할 수 없을 것이다. 따라서 수를 보는 시각이 달라지지 않으면 수학을 기피하는 현상은 계속될 것이다.

In this study, Two divisions(language and literature) in schemes of the DDC are discussed. And the adaptation of these divisions to the minor or oriential countries are seggested. In spite of the continuous study and revision of the experts, the frameworks of these systems are still kept unchanged. Only their subdivisions, reflecting those developments In the academic world are developed and detailed more sophisticatedly. Of those subdivisions in DDC, especially the two subdivisions of language and literature are seriously unbalanced. The two divisions give the attention too much to the Western including the English, Deutsch and French. Relatively the languages and literatures of the other nations are treated lightly. It results more problems to the Oriental and the minor nations. So, the libraries of these nations should modify the schedules and develop the subdivisions items of the local emphasis. Considering these problems the historical changes of the DDC system in the languages and literatures are clarified and the problems occurring from unbalanced allocation of the classed items are examined.

TV-Anytime은 차세대 디지털 방송을 위한 메타데이타 표준으로 XML 형식으로 기술된다. TV-Anytime 메타데이타는 그 특성상 단일 스키마를 따르며, 규모에 있어서 대용량이다. 그러므로 데이터베이스를 이용하여 메타데이타를 저장하고 관리할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 대용량 TV-Anytime 메타데이타를, 데이터베이스를 이용하여 저장하고 관리하기 위한 저장 엔진을 제안한다. 단일 스키마에 기반을 두고 있다는 점을 고려하여 TV-Anytime 메타데이타의 구조에 적합한 데이터베이스 스키마를 설계하였다. 문서 재조합을 효율적으로 할 수 있도록 노드 번호를 위하여 Dewey 방법을 사용하였으며, 조인 연산을 줄이기 위하여 Path 테이블을 두었다. 저장 엔진은 TV-Anytime 관리 시스템에서 XQuery 엔진과 같은 XML 질의처리기와 연동될 수 있다.

XML은 인터넷 웹문서, EDI 등을 포함하여 다양한 분야에서 활용하는 문서이다. XML은 플랫폼에 독립적이며 문서의 정보를 손실 없이 전송 및 교환이 쉽고 웹상에서 구조화된 문서의 전송이 가능하다. 따라서 시간이 변화함에 따라 XML 문서의 변경에 따른 효율적인 버전 관리에 대한 중요성이 대두되었다. 본 논문에서는 XML문서 버전관리에 있어서 시간적인 정보를 제공하기 위해 이력 데이터베이스의 정보를 이용하고 문서의 빠른 재구성을 위해 Dewey ordering방식을 결합한 새로운 버전번호 관리방식을 제안한다.

의미 있는 '하나의 경험'은 성장을 가져온다. 존 듀이는 '하나의 경험'을 하나의 예술작품이 만족스럽게 완결에 이르게 되고, 계속해서 고민하던 어떤 문제에 대한 해결책이 마침내 도출되는 것이라 말한다. 독서를 하거나 책을 쓰는 것 등도 언젠가는 종결에 이르게 되는데, 이러한 경우의 종결은 단순히 중지(cessation)가 아닌 하나의 과정의 결과인 것이다. 이러한 경험은 하나의 통일체(a whole)이며 그것 자체의 개별화된 특질과 자급자족(self-sufficiency)을 갖추고 있다. 바로 이러한 특징을 갖는 경험을 '하나의 경험'이라고 부르는 것이다. 학교 현장의 교육과정에서 '하나의 경험'이 되는 배움이란 교육적인 의미와 가치로서 인정되고 평생 기억에 남는 교육 경험 활동이라 할 수 있다. 학습자 입장의 배움, 자발성에 근거한 들뢰즈의 '배움' 이론이 '하나의 경험'으로 기억되는 의미 있는 가치로의 가능성을 탐구하고자 한다.

Teacher reflection as a form of professional development has been an enduring interest in education that can be traced back to Dewey. Information about how teachers interpret and analyze their students' learning would help us understand difficulties in teaching and learning. Moreover, it can be useful for teacher education by improving teaching methods. The purpose of this research was to understand how mathematics teachers reflected on their students' understanding. For the purpose of this study, I investigated four U.S.A. mathematics teachers in a middle school. In particular, I discussed Assess instances among the teachers' reflections on their students' thinking and changes of the reflections as time went by. The results showed two different types of Assess instances and shifts by time.

Reliability of fire protection systems is often discussed, written about, and even put into codes and standards. However, reliability is seldom considered for the fire protection system as a whole. Why does this happen and why should the designer consider the system as a whole\ulcorner Existing codes and standards incorporate the concept of reliability usually In the form of key component redundancy for some parts of a system. The "Fire Safety Concepts Tree" presented in the National Fire Protection Association Guide 550, Guide to the Fire Safety Concepts Tree, provides a starting point for considering the performance of a water based fire suppression system. Considering fire protection objectives for water based fire suppression systems, means of evaluating system reliability can be developed. This development requires identification of system components that are significant to the overall system reliability.

Cephaloglycin was synthesized directly from D-${\alpha}$ -phenylglycine methyl ester and 7-aminocephalosporanic acid using whole cell enzyme of Xanthomonas citri (IFO 3835). Some optimal conditions for cephaloglycin synthesis were investigated, and yield improvements for its production by several methods were attempted. Using the whole cell enzyme system, the reaction kinetic model for cephaloglycin synthesis is proposed, and the kinetic constants for D-${\alpha}$ -phenylglycine methyl ester hydrolysis, cephaloglycin synthesis, and cephaloglycin hydrolysis were determined. The $K_m$ values of D-${\alpha}$-phenylglycine methyl ester, 7-aminocephalosporanic acid, and cephaloglycin were 11 mM, 24 mM, and 167 mM, and $K_i$ value of D-${\alpha}$-phenylglycine was 15 mM, respectively. The pattern of product inhibition was found to be competitive one.

This study analyzes the availability of access features in children's non-fiction as compared to their prevalence in adult non-fiction because such features are an important part of the research process increasingly demanded of younger and younger students in schools. Access features studied include: table of contents, index, bibliography, endnotes/footnotes, glossary, and suggestions for further reading list. This study found that children's non-fiction books were less likely to include bibliographies or endnotes, but more likely to include glossaries or suggested reading lists. Tables of contents and indexes were the two most popular access features in each section. Results are divided by Dewey Decimal Classification classes.
