The Proposal Method of ARINC-429 Linkage for Efficient Operation of Tactical Stations in P-3C Maritime Patrol Aircraft (P-3C 해상초계기용 전술컴퓨터의 효율적 운영을 위한 ARINC-429 연동 방법)

  • The P-3C maritime patrol aircraft operated by the Republic of Korea Navy is equipped with various sensor devices (LRUs, line replace units) for tactical data collection. Depending on the characteristics of the sensor device, it operates with various communication protocols such as IEEE 802.3, MIL-STD-1553A/B, and ARINC-429. In addition, the collected tactical data is processed in the tactical station for mission operators, and this tactical station constitutes a clustering network on Gigabit Ethernet and operates in a distributed processing method. For communication with the sensor device, a specific tactical station mounts a peripheral device (eg. ARINC-429 interface card). The problem is that the performance of the entire distributed processing according to the peripheral device control and communication relay of this specific device is degraded, and even the operation stop of the tactical station has a problem of disconnecting the communication with the related sensor device. In this paper, we propose a method to mount a separate gateway to solve this problem, and the validity of the proposed application is demonstrated through the operation result of this gateway.

Residue Free Fabrication of Suspended 2D Nanosheets for in-situ TEM Nanomechanics

  • Two dimensional(2D) crystals, composed of a single layer or a few atomic layers extracted from layered materials are attracting researchers' interest due to promising applications in the nanoelectromechanical systems. Worldwide researchers are preparing devices with suspended 2D materials to study their physical and electrical properties. However, during the fabrication process of 2D flakes on a target substrate, contamination occurs, which makes the measurement data less reliable. We propose a dry transfer method using poly-methyl methacrylate(PMMA) for the 2D flakes to transfer onto the targeted substrate. The PMMA is then removed from the device by an N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone solution and a critical point dryer, which makes the suspended 2D flakes residue free. Our method provides a clean, reliable and controllable way of fabricating micrometer-sized suspended 2D nanosheets.

Design and Implementation of Low Noise Amplifier for GPS Reciver (GPS수신기용 저잡음 증폭기의 설계 및 구현)

  • This papers describes two low-noise amplifiers that use the Hewlett-Packard ATF-10236 low noise GaAs FET device, The actual measured performance of the amplifiers compares favorably to that predicted by the computer simulation(ADS) the noise figure of the 1575MHz amplifier was measured at 1.78dB which is lower that 2dB as specified. Measurement gam measured 33.0075dB which is within 35dB$\pm$0.5㏈ of the GPS specification. Network Analyzer(HP8510) is used to measure all the s-parameters and Noise Figure meter(HP8970B) is used to measure noise figure. As the result of experiment, gain, input VSWR, output VSWR is within the GPS specification sufficiently.

The Effects of Training on the Proper Use of Respiratory Rate Measurement Devices for Providing High-Quality Artificial Ventilation

  • This study aims to investigate the appropriate volume of artificial ventilation and success rate when Basic - emergency medical Technician administer bag valve mask(BVM) artificial ventilation to patients experiencing respiratory failure or respiratory arrest using a respiratory rate measurement device. The research was conducted from December 11th to 12th, 2023, targeting 20 Basic - emergency medical Technicians enrolled at D University. Ten participants were selected for the experimental group, receiving BVM ventilation training with the use of a respiratory rate measurement device, while the other ten were assigned to the control group, receiving BVM ventilation training without the use of a respiratory rate measurement device. The experiment involved providing artificial ventilation for 2 minutes. The results of the study indicated that the control group did not provide accurate tidal volume (p=.025). The experimental group demonstrated a higher success rate of ventilation over the 2-minute period, while the control group showed a significant difference (p=.001). Subjective perception of tidal volume and objectively measured tidal volume also exhibited a significant difference in the control group (p=.010). Therefore, training with a respiratory rate measurement device can align the subjective perception of tidal volume with objective measurements, increase the success rate of ventilation, and potentially contribute to improving survival rates in patients experiencing respiratory failure or respiratory arrest during cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

  • In this paper, high efficiency power management IC(PMIC) with DT-CMOS(Dynamic threshold voltage Complementary MOSFET) switching device is presented. PMIC is controlled PWM control method in order to have high power efficiency at high current level. The DT-CMOS switch with low on-resistance is designed to decrease conduction loss. The control parts in Buck converter, that is, PWM control circuit consist of a saw-tooth generator, a band-gap reference(BGR) circuit, an error amplifier, comparator circuit, compensation circuit, and control block. The saw-tooth generator is made to have 1.2MHz oscillation frequency and full range of output swing from supply voltage(3.3V) to ground. The comparator is designed with two stage OP amplifier. And the error amplifier has 70dB DC gain and $64^{\circ}$ phase margin. DC-DC converter, based on current mode PWM control circuits and low on-resistance switching device, achieved the high efficiency nearly 96% at 100mA output current. And Buck converter is designed along LDO in standby mode which fewer than 1mA for high efficiency. Also, this paper proposes two protection circuit in order to ensure the reliability.

Strategies to Design Efficient Donor-Acceptor (D-A) Type Emitting Molecules: Molecular Symmetry and Electron Accepting Ability of D-A Type Molecules

  • We synthesized 2-(10-methyl-10H-phenothiazin-3-yl)-5-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole (MPPO) and 5,5-(10-methyl-10H-phenothiazin-3,7-diyl)-bis-(2-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole) (DPPO). MPPO has both electron-donating and electron-accepting substituents with asymmetric molecular geometry. By incorporating one extra electron-accepting group into MPPO, we created a symmetric molecule, which is DPPO. The optical and electrochemical properties of these compounds were measured. The lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) level of DPPO was lower than that of MPPO. The excited-state dipole moment of DPPO, with symmetric geometry, was calculated to be 4.1 Debye, whereas MPPO, with asymmetric geometry, had a value of 7.0 Debye. The charge-carrier mobility of both compounds was similar. We fabricated non-doped organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) using D-A type molecules as an emitting layer. The current efficiency of the DPPO-based device was 7.8 cd/A, and the external quantum efficiency was 2.4% at 100 cd/m2, demonstrating significantly improved performance compared to the MPPO-based device. The photophysical and electroluminescence (EL) characteristics of the two D-A type molecules showed that molecular symmetry, as well as the lowered LUMO level of DPPO, played critical roles in the enhancement of EL performance.

  • In this paper, 2 devices through the input image are projected onto the output video device to extract 3D information of real objects and they are located in virtual space. All 3D objects for each inter-object interaction information and location information makes the validation process by recognizing conflict. The proposed extract 3D information of real objects and collision handling inter-object interaction in the most basic issues in augmented reality, because more than anything is a matter to be prescriptive. Therefore, the proposed system to solve this problem exists in virtual space, all objects of the user by validating the conflict between realism and immersion to show that aims to increase.

Manufacturing Technology for Tape Casting and Soft Magnetic Powder Using by Recycling Scrap of Fe-Si Electrical Sheet (Fe-Si 전기강판 폐스크랩을 이용한 연자성 분말 및 테이프 제조기술)

  • This study focused on examining the possibility for recycling of Fe-Si electric sheet. We manufactured Fe-6.5Si mother alloy using by Fe-Si electric sheet scrap for transformer core materials. And then, soft magnetic alloy powder which diameter and shape were $45{\sim}150{\mu}m$ and sphere type was prepared by gas atomization process. As we compared to commercial Fe-6.5Si powder, its diameter distribution and microstructure of recycled powder was a similar. To investigate the possibility of reusing the soft magnetic composite sheet for electronics, recycled powder was treated to have a high aspect ratio (AR), and we finally obtained the 65~66 AR and $2.3{\mu}m$ thickness powder. To release the residual stress of powder, heat treatment was conducted under $300{\sim}400^{\circ}C$, $N_2$ gas. And then, soft magnetic sheet was made by tape casting process using by those powders. After the density and permeability of tape was measured, and we confirmed that the recycled Fe-Si electric sheet scrap was possible to reuse the soft magnetic materials of electronics.

An Experimental Study on the Pond Sediment and Water Quality Purification using Oxygen Solubilization Device(OSD) System (산소용해수를 이용한 호소 저질 및 수질개선에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The pollution in closing water can be caused by not only artificial factor like sewage but also natural factor like elution from sediment. In this study we analyzed Sediment Oxygen Demand (SOD) for verification of sediment purification effect and sediment elution experiment as well as general items like COD, TN, TP, SS to complement and assess the effect of sediment and water quality. The experiment result showed that the release rate of OSD system were 4 times and 3 times as large as control for P and Fe respectively. SOD for operated OSD system and control were $12.18gO_2{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}d^{-1}$ and $47.95gO_2{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}d^{-1}$. From water qualities analyzed by COD, TN, TP, SS, chlorophyll-a, the removal efficiency increase of TN, TP, chlorophyll-a and COD were about 10~20%, 40~50% and 10% respectively. In conclusion, OSD can contribute to improvement of both the waterbody and the sediment environment effectively.

Biomechanical Comparison of Spinal Fusion Methods Using Interspinous Process Compressor and Pedicle Screw Fixation System Based on Finite Element Method

  • Objective : To investigate the biomechanical effects of a newly proposed Interspinous Process Compressor (IPC) and compare with pedicle screw fixation at surgical and adjacent levels of lumbar spine. Methods : A three dimensional finite element model of intact lumbar spine was constructed and two spinal fusion models using pedicle screw fixation system and a new type of interspinous devices, IPC, were developed. The biomechanical effects such as range of motion (ROM) and facet contact force were analyzed at surgical level (L3/4) and adjacent levels (L2/3, L4/5). In addition, the stress in adjacent intervertebral discs (D2, D4) was investigated. Results : The entire results show biomechanical parameters such as ROM, facet contact force, and stress in adjacent intervertebral discs were similar between PLIF and IPC models in all motions based on the assumption that the implants were perfectly fused with the spine. Conclusion : The newly proposed fusion device, IPC, had similar fusion effect at surgical level, and biomechanical effects at adjacent levels were also similar with those of pedicle screw fixation system. However, for clinical applications, real fusion effect between spinous process and hooks, duration of fusion, and influence on spinous process need to be investigated through clinical study.
