중학교 1학년 수학과 서술형 평가문항 개발 연구 (A Study on Development of Problems for Descriptive Evaluation in Grade 7 Mathematics)

  • In this paper, descriptive assessment method for middle school mathematics was evaluated by developing a framework for designing and grading problems for descriptive assessment and analyzing the effectiveness of the problems. The new descriptive assessment problems were developed by reviewing the current 7th National Mathematics Curriculum of Korea and aligned mathematics textbooks to define a set of problem design principles and evaluation framework for the assessment strategy. The developed problems were first pilot tested and then revised based on the feedback from the test. The final version was field tested by 100 students in 7th grade middle school. After the field test, the problems were graded by two middle school math teachers and one math education researcher to determine the overall correlation between graders and also to analyze effectiveness of the evaluation framework of the test. This result of this study is expected to assist in the further development of descriptive problems and grading framework by providing a reference work for teachers to better understand the process and the limitations of executing the new assessment strategy.

  • 본 연구는 수학과 서술형 평가에 관한 문항개발 사례 연구로서 교사들이 학교 현장에서 실제적으로 활용할 수 있는 평가문항과 평가기준을 개발하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 평가문항과 평가기준의 개발절차를 마련하고 초등학교 4-나 단계의 각 단원에 해당되는 구체적인 서술형 평가 문항과 그에 대한 평가기준을 개발하였다. 개발 과정에서 문항의 신뢰도 검증을 위하여 서술형 평가 문항과 평가기준을 초등학교 4학년 학급에 적용한 결과를 분석하였다.

  • 최근 우리나라 2007 개정 수학교육과정에서는 그동안 강조되어오던 수학적 문제해결력 뿐 아니라 수학적으로 사고하고 의사소통하는 능력을 중요한 요소로 강조하고 있다. 이에 따라 수학과의 평가영역에서는 고등 사고 능력을 평가할 수 있는 대안적인 평가 방법으로 수행평가와 서술형 논술형 평가방법의 구체적인 활용 방안들이 논의되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 초등학교 교과서와 교육과정을 분석하여 <6-나> 단계를 중심으로 서술형 평가 문항과 채점기준을 개발하고 개발된 평가문항을 현장에 적용하여 결과를 분석함으로써 초등학교 수학과 서술형 평가의 현장 적용 가능성을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 오늘날 학교수학에서는 학생들의 학습 결과만이 아닌 학습자 사고의 진 과정을 평가해야 한다는 방향으로 평가관이 변화되어 가고 있으며, 대안적인 평가방법으로 서술형 평가가 교육청의 권고 하에 학교현장에 급격히 도입되고 있는 실정이다. 그러나 서술형 평가의 잠재적 장점을 살리면서 현장에 안정적으로 적용되기 위해서는 성숙한 실행조건을 갖추는 것이 우선되어야 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 현재 학교에서 시행되고 있는 수학과 서술형 평가의 효율적인 정착을 위해 서울 및 수도권 소재 중 고등학교 수학교사 120명을 대상으로 서술형 평가의 실시 현황, 문항 제작 및 채점, 기대 및 개선 방향에 대한 인식을 조사하여 그 시사점을 제안하고자 하였다. 연구 결과, 많은 학교가 서술형 평가를 학교에서 주관하는 정기 시험에서 실시하여 그 결과를 성적에 반영하고 있었다 서술형 평가는 학생들의 사고력 신장과 학업 성취도에 대한 보다 정확한 측정을 위하여 '중'이나 '중상' 정도 난이도로 출제되고 주로 분석적인 채점 방법으로 4회 이상 반복 채점하곤 있었다. 서술형 평가와 관련한 문제점으로는 학급 당 학생 수, 평가 과정에서의 객관성 확보, 문항 개발의 어려움과 더불어 학생들이 학습 부담의 증가 등이 꼽혔는데, 이에 대한 해결 방안으로 교사의 업무 경감, 서술형 평가를 위한 적극적인 문항 개발 및 보급, 서술형 평가를 위한 타당하고 객관적인 평가기준의 개발 및 보급이 시급하게 개선되어야 하는 것들로 나타났다.

ICHPPC에 의(依)한 학생(學生)들이 건강문제(健康問題) 분류(分類)에 관(關)한 연구 (A study of Status of Students' Health Problems by ICHPPC Method)

  • This study was conducted for the development of recording system of students' health problems, and for the application of International Classification of Health Problem in Primary Care(ICHPPC) as a tool of morbidity classification in school health care. The data were collected from 12th of September to 24th of September in 1988. The objects were composed of health problems written by 10 school nurses who take service in the elementary school. The results were as follows: 1. The features of students' health problmes. The health problems of students were 68 problems from the total numbers of 361 codes of ICHPPC. The 93.4% of health problems was contained in 20 descriptive diagnoses and 97.0% was contained in 30 descriptive diagnoses. According to frequency of main health problems, There were abrasion, scratch and blister(26.7%); disorder of stomach function, other disease of stomach and duodenum (20.4%); headache(10.6%); bruise and contusion (5.3%); acute URI (5.0%); laceration and open wound(4.6%); Insect bite and sting(4.0%); epistaxis(3.4%): abdominal pain(2.6%): superficial tissue(1.7%). Out of all health problems, Category 17(accident, injury and poisoning was 44.7%. and Category 9(digestive system Disease) was 22.2%. 2. Applicability of ICHPPC by the school nurses. School nurses used 68 codes, among the total number of 361 codes from ICHPPC. According to ICHPPC method, school nurses can classified more diverse health problems systematically and objectively than that in other studies on school nurses activities. ICHPPC was found as a useful and applicable tool of morbidity classification in the practice of school nurses.

Development of a Descriptive Cost Effectiveness Model for a Subcontractor with Limited Resources

  • It only takes one failed project to wipe out an entire year's profit, when the projects are not managed efficiently. Additionally, escalating costs of materials and a competitive local construction market make subcontractors a challenge. Subcontractors have finite resources that should be allocated simultaneously across many projects in a dynamic manner. Significant scheduling problems are posed by concurrent multi-projects with limited resources. The objective of this thesis is to identify the effect of productivity changes on the total cost resulting from shifting crews across projects using a descriptive model. To effectively achieve the objective, this study has developed a descriptive cost model for a subcontractor with multi-resources and multi-projects. The model was designed for a subcontractor to use as a decision-making tool for resources allocation and scheduling. The model identified several factors affecting productivity. Moreover, when the model was tested using hypothetical data, it produced some effective combinations of resource allocation with associated total costs. Furthermore, a subcontractor minimizes total costs by balancing overtime costs, tardiness penalties, and incentive bonus, while satisfying available processing time constraints.

학교보건 실무 프로토콜 개발: 초등학교를 대상으로 (Development of Protocols for School Health Practice: Focusing on Primary School)

  • Purpose: This study was a descriptive methodological study to develop protocols for school health practice to manage health problems of primary school students effectively. Methods: The protocols were verified by 12 experts and 10 health teachers, respectively, to secure a two-step content validity. Results: The main 8 health problems of primary school students were headache, abdominal pain, musculo-skeletal, respiratory, circulatory, ophthalmic, and oral-dental problems, and fever. The developed protocols consist of 8 algorithms, which are to help decision making in the course of assessing health problems and to identify and link related factors and associated symptoms, 8 school nursing records based on the Omaha classification system, and the list of 441 links between nursing assessment and nursing intervention. Conclusion: The use of the protocols is expected to make it easier for health teachers to apply the nursing process in solving the health problems of primary school students and supporting the rational decision making process, eventually improving the quality of primary school health. Repeated studies for protocol standardization as well as studies dealing with various health problems not included in the protocols should be performed for the development of school health practice protocols.

초등 수학과 서술형 평가 적용을 위한 기초조사연구 (A Survey of the Teachers' Perception and the Status about the Descriptive Evaluation in Elementary School Mathematics)

  • 최근 학교 현장에서는 학생에 대한 총체적 이해와 평가의 필요성에 대두하고 다양한 과정중심의 평가방법이 강조됨에 따라 학생들의 사고력을 평가할 수 있는 대안적인 평가 방법으로 서술형 평가의 중요성이 인식되면서 이에 대한 효과적인 적용 방안이 구체적으로 논의되고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 서울시 소재 공립 초등학교 교사 197명을 대상으로 서술형 평가에 대한 인식 및 실태 파악을 위한 설문조사연구를 실시하여 서술형 평가의 현장 적용 가능성 및 효율적인 활용방안에 대한 시사점을 얻고자 하였다. 연구 결과, 대부분의 초등학교 교사들이 학기당 4-7회 이상, 단원별로 필요하다고 느끼는 시기에 단답형의 수행평가를 실시하였고, 서술형 평가는 학생들의 창의성과 사고력을 신장시키고 성취도를 정확히 측정하는 것을 목적으로 90% 이상의 교사가 실시하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 서술형 평가 실시에 있어 교사의 업무부담 경감 및 교육 여건의 개선, 교사에 대한 자율성 부여, 문항과 평가 기준의 개발 및 보급이 시급히 개선되어져야 할 문제점으로 지적되었다.

유아기 미디어 사용이 주의집중 문제를 매개로 아동 중기 그릿에 미치는 종단적 영향 (Longitudinal effects of media use in early childhood on grit in middle childhood: Mediating role of attention problems)

  • Objective: The present study examined long-term effects of media use during early childhood on grit in middle childhood, focusing on the mediating role of attention problems. Methods: For statistical analysis, the 6th, 7th, and 11th data sets from the Panel Study on Korean Children were used. A total of 1,352 cases were finally selected. Descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis, path analysis, and bootstrapping were conducted. Results: The results showed that the use of media for educational purposes in early childhood did not have a significant effect on attention problems and grit. However, when the media use time for play in early childhood was longer, levels of attention problems in early childhood were higher and levels of grit in middle childhood were lower. The mediating effect of attention problems on the relationship between media use time for play of young children and grit of middle childhood was significant. Conclusion/Implications: Findings of the present study suggest that the use of media for play during early childhood needs to be carefully monitored because it can have a negative effect on attention and grit development.

Availability, Use and Constraints to Use of Electronic Information Resources by Postgraduates Students at the University of Ibadan

  • Availability, awareness and use of electronic resources provide access to authoritative, reliable, accurate and timely access to information. The use of electronic information resources (EIRs) can enable innovation in teaching and increase timeliness in research of postgraduate students which will eventual result into encouragement of the expected research-led enquiry in this digital age. The study adopted a descriptive survey design. Samples of 300 of postgraduate students within seven out 13 Faculties were randomly selected. Data were collected using questionnaire designed to elicit response from respondents and data were analyzed using descriptive statistics methods percentages, mean, and standard deviation. Results indicated that internet was ranked most available and used in the university. Low level of usage of electronic resources, in particular, full texts data bases is linked to a number of constraints: Interrupted power supply was ranked highest among other factors as speed and capacity of computers, retrieval of records with high recall and low precision, retrieving records relevant to information need, lack of knowledge of search techniques to retrieve information effectively, non possession of requisite IT skills and problems accessing the internet. The study recommended that usage of electronic resources be made compulsory, intensifying awareness campaigns concerning the availability, training on use of electronic resources and the problem of power outage be addressed.
