The objective of this study were 1) to determine the stages of concern of HE teachers about the practical problem-based curriculum approach, as illustrated by the Ohio's Work and Family Life Curriculum (W&FLC); 2) to determine the relationships between home economics (HE) teacher's stages of concern about W&FLC and personal and professional characteristics of HE teachers; and 3) to determine aspects of interest about the practical problem-based curriculum approach, such as the Ohio W&FLC. Respondents in this study were 225 HE teachers. The data were collected during the in-service teacher training sessions after presentation about W&FLC. Concerns Based Adoption Model (CBAM) was modified to provide a conceptual framework for this study. Frequencies, SD, mean, mode, range were used to determine the stages of concern of HE teachers. To determine the relationships between stages of concerns and personal and professional characteristics of HE teachers, coefficient of Chi-Square contingency tables was used. Content analysis was used to determine aspects of interest about the practical problem-bsed curriculum approach, such as W&FLC. The median of the stages of HE teachers' concerns about W&FLC was Stage 1, Information Stage. About 60% of HE teachers were interested in learning more details about W&FLC. Chi-square revealed no statistically significant relationships between stages of concerns about W&FLC and characteristics of HE teachers. Content analysis was used to determine aspects of interest about W&FLC of HE teachers. Nine categories were found: content, teaching strategies, implementation of the curriculum, philosophical framework, how to adopt W&FLC, resource materials, students' outcomes, in-service teacher training, and HE teacher organization. The majority of HE teachers were interested in relationships with family and others, resource management, family relationships, personal development, communication skill, family life, creating a self-identity, life planning, roles of family members, homemaking management, child care, and parenting.

In this study, we developed a 15-week educational program for TPACK(Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) development of 40 pre-service teachers in a university for teacher training. We also developed a TPACK evaluation framework to evaluate the practical competency of TPACK of pre-service teachers. The developed evaluation framework consisted of 5 levels, from 0 to 4, TPK(Technological Pedagogical Knowledge), TCK(Technological Content Knowledge), and TPACK, respectively. As a result of the evlauation, the levels of TPK, TCK, and TPACK development stages of most pre-service teachers were consistent, but some pre-service teachers' TPK and TCK did not match. It was found that the TPACK stages follow the lower level between TPK and TCK. In addition, as a result of an investigation into the hindrance factors of the TPACK development of pre-service teachers with low TPACK stages in the use of technology, they have distrust of students' ability to learn with self-regulation, distrust of students' ability to interact, and recognition of practical limitations in the school field. Based on these findings, we argued that it was necessary to provide an educational program to help pre-service teachers develop balanced TPK and TCK and eliminate the hindrance factors of the TPACK development of pre-service teachers about technology-using classes.
A research group consisting of some mathematics education scholars and school teachers has been formed to build a website which intended to combine both theories and practices of mathematical teaching since 2002. There were three working stages: video-tapping realistic math teaching, developing video discs of different themes, and designing e-Learning. The group members learned knowledge of teaching by actual participating. On the other hand, the products enabled the audience to get professional development in knowledge of both mathematics and teaching. Management process of this group and effects upon the participants and users will be presented and discussed in this paper. Many developing countries consider ICT as a key enabler to improve their educational systems and teachers are viewed as change agents. This paper aims to present policy suggestions concerning how to foster teachers' ICT competencies in developing countries based on the outcomes of an ODA project case in Peru. This study was conducted through three stages: Literature survey, site visit, and policy suggestions. To draw relevant policy suggestions, we employed the framework of the 'macro-meso-micro' level of teacher professional development. The following policy suggestions are discussed: (a) macro level: to develop the national framework of teacher ICT competencies and competency-based teacher training, (b) meso-level: to promote teacher communities of practices and school-based research programs, and (c) micro-level: to redesign teacher professional development programs to help teachers better understand the complex relationships between content, pedagogy, and technology, beyond learning about basic ICT literacy skills. This study contributes to the understanding of how ODA projects can approach the issue of teacher ICT capacity building at multiple levels.
The purposes of this study were to review developmental stages of acculturation, to establish dimensions and components of intercultural communicative competence, and to suggest teaching methods in the elementary school based on the dimensions and the components of the stages. In order to achieve these purposes, theoretical research on the nature of intercultural communicative competence and teaching methods of intercultural dimensions and components was carried out in terms of developmental stages of acculturation. The stages of acculturation have relation to cognitive domain, affective domain, and cultural awareness. In the domain of cognitive development, the models such as Cummins (1981), Wong-Fillmore (1983), and Ausubel (1968) were presented. In the affective domain of second language research, the models of Gardener and Lambert (1972), Maslow (1954), and Bloom (1974) were argued. Modifying the models of Ausubel, Cummins, Wong-Fillmore, the dimensions and components of intercultural communicative competence were established. In addition, it was suggested that cultural syllabus and lesson plan based on tourist and survivor stage should be considered.

The purpose of this study was to develop a teaching model to improve teaching demonstration competence of pre-service Fisheries and Marine teachers through class consulting. The results were as follows: First, the results of a survey on perception of 19 pre-service teachers showed that most of them did not know exactly about the teaching demonstration. Second, a teaching model through class consulting was developed in four stages: Preparation for class, doing lesson, watching lesson, reflecting class. Third, the developed lessons model was applied for 6 weeks, but it was hard to expect much change just for 6 weeks. If discussions about the content of the lesson plan are haven during prior class consulting, this will be helpful for pre-service teachers in making the real teaching plan. The class performer have to write a report on class analysis because it is necessary to try systematic analysis on teaching demonstration.
Mentoring as a human resources development program is being reconceptualized because of the rapidly shifting work environment which has been recently focused on the necessity of knowledge management. That is, new mentoring network theory as a reconceptualization of mentoring is structured by researchers who have related social network theory and mentoring and they have discovered that the development of individual and organizational is built by the relationships of multiple selves. In their paper, they have asserted that an individual's developmental stage is an important antecedent to the nature of mentoring and developmental networks that are possible. Further, they are suggesting that mentoring developmental network is a key tool for learning, development, and successful performance outcomes in challenging assignments. This paper aims to describe the next empirical research plan that will investigate the developmental stage of teachers as an antecedent of mentoring network. An introduction and background to the research will be explained to provide a conceptual framework for the next study.
This study explored the meaning of beginning teachers' first-year experience in an eco child educare center. Participants were 4 teachers at survival stages of teacher development; they had had the same preservice experience. Data were collected by semi-structured in-depth interviews, participant observation, researcher's field notes, and document collection. Five themes emerged as first year teachers' struggles and strategies for survival : (1) caring for children's daily lives vs. responsibility for formal education, (2) planned lessons vs. ease in teaching, (3) agreement or disagreement on philosophy of running the education program, (4) paradox of teacher empowerment, (5) overcoming struggle through voluntary peer supervision. These results indicated that beginning teacher' experiences at the survival stage varied by contextual and personal factors.

The survey method was used in this descriptive study. The purpose in this study was to investigate middle school home economics(HE) teachers' stages of concern, levels of use, and perception about career education, based on the Concerns Based Adoption Model(CBAM). Questionnaire was administrated to middle school HE teachers over the whole country except Jeju Island through mail or e-mail by systematic random sampling. 118 data collected from the responses were finally analyzed statistically with mean, standard deviation, frequencies, percentage, and independent-sample t-test by using SPSS/WIN 12.0 program. The results of the study were as follows: First, most-HE teachers were in stages of the personal concern (86.56) and the informational concern(85.42) about HE career education. Second, the highest number of teachers was in level of refinement(33.1%) use. Third, teachers recognized important goal of HE career education as 'understanding of diverse careers and formating of positive values and attitude about work'. Also they had generally conducted HE career education through 'Understanding Teenager' chapter of a first-year middle school. However they had struggled with difficulty such as lack of data, time, and expertise in conducting HE career education. Therefore, it is necessary that support such as development, supplies, and training opportunities of career education should be provided.
This study evaluates the AI digital competencies of teachers and presents a step-by-step framework for teacher's AI digital competencies that can be utilized in training. To do this, AI digital competencies were analyzed from the perspective of utilization and disposition, linked with the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) perspective. Then, as a precedent for step-by-step teacher AI digital competencies, the 3-step competency of the British Education and Training Foundation and the UNESCO ICT Teacher Competency Framework were presented. In this study, teacher's AI digital competencies were divided into three stages: entry, adaptation, and leadership, considering precedent research and domestic conditions. The initial entry stage passed the validity test in the second round of the Delphi survey, and the other two stages passed in the first round. The final entry stage is described as a stage where teachers understand AI digital but have difficulty implementing it, the adaptation stage is a level applied to standard curricula, and the leadership stage is a level where AI digital is applied in advanced courses and teachers serve as models for others. Through the overall AI digital competencies presented in this study, detailed competency development is possible, and it can be used as a reference material for developing evaluation items.
