  • The previous MCCs(Motor Control Centers) have the demerits of high cost and much manhour for rework because it is impossible for us to standardize the previous MCCs and they have many manual connections. The customers require the products which can operate with the SCADA system by digitalizing the functions of the current MCCs and the systematized products with capability of remote control. To solve these disadvantages and requirements, we developed the Intelligent Motor Control Center. This system has the various functions such as protection, measuring, and communication. Using these functions, we can monitor motor status through communication with the upper system and define the circuit for lowering connection costs according tn starting type and shortening the manufactural period by the graphic editor. The development of this system results in establishment of the competitive structure with domestic area and Perfect automatic monitoring through linkage with the SCADA system.

  • This paper deals with an analytic design of feedback regulator and signal state estimator in discrete linear systems. On the way of developing the deadbeat regulator, some necessary conditions for control policy have been derived, it is proved that the q periods delay in the control causes q periods delay in the point at which deadbeat response occurs. We have derived some relations such that the eigenvalue of system plant can be arbitrarily changed by the characteristics of minor loop compensator which is introduced in feedback path. And also we show that the signal state estimator which estimates the state of given signal sequence must satisfy some conditions. Theorems and conclusions are described with some simplel nontrivial numerical examples and signal state tracking application problems.

  • A DEDS is a system whose stated change in response to the occurrence of events from a predefined event set. A major difficulty in developing analytical results for the system is the lack of appropriate modeling techniques. In this paper, we consider the modeling and control problem for Discrete Event Dynamic Systems(DEDS) in the Temporal Logic framework(TLF) which have been recently defined. The traditional TLF is enhanced with time functions for real time control of Discrete Event Dynamic Systems. A sequence of event which drive the system from a given initial state to a given final state is generated by pertinently operating the given plants. This paper proposes the use of Real-time Temporal Logic as a modeling tool for the analysis and control of DEDS. An given example of fixed-time traffic control problem is shown to illustrate our results with Real-time Temporal Logic Framework.

  • Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are rapidly emerging because of their potential applications available in military and civilian environments. Due to unattended and hostile deployment environments, shared wireless links, and inherent resource constraints, providing high level security services is challenging in WSNs. In this paper, we revisit various security attack models and analyze them by using a well-known standard notation, Unified Modeling Language (UML). We provide a set of UML collaboration diagram and sequence diagrams of attack models witnessed in different network layers: physical, data/link, network, and transport. The proposed UML-based analysis not only can facilitate understanding of attack strategies, but can also provide a deep insight into designing/developing countermeasures in WSNs.

  • Pullorum disease affecting poultry is caused by Salmonella enterica serovar Pullorum and results in severe economic loss every year, especially in countries with a developing poultry industry. The pathogenesis of S. Pullorum is not yet well defined, as the specific virulence factors still need to be identified. Thus, to isolate specific DNA fragments belonging to S. Pullorum, this study used suppression subtractive hybridization. As such, the genome of the S. Pullorum C79-13 strain was subtracted from the genome of Salmonella enterica serovar Gallinarum 9 and Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis CMCC(B) 50041, respectively, resulting in the identification of 20 subtracted fragments. A sequence homology analysis then revealed three types of fragment: phage sequences, plasmid sequences, and sequences with an unknown function. As a result, several important virulence-related genes encoding the IpaJ protein, colicin Y, tailspike protein, excisionase, and Rhs protein were identified that may play a role in the pathogenesis of S. Pullorum.

  • This paper describes modeling & simulation(M&S) model for dynamic analysis of helicopter rotor blades. Simulation model is developed using Dymola tool which implements the open source language - Modelica. Modelica is appropriate for developing multibody dynamic analysis model. To develop an M&S model efficiently, model based systems engineering(MBSE) is applied. Some diagrams such as requirement diagram, block definition diagram and sequence diagram etc. are drawn to capture the concept of M&S model. This activity is done utilizing the open source tool - Papyrus.

  • Group A Streptococcus strain ST4529 is a provisional new ems type which has been recently reported in Malaysia (Jomal, et al. 1999. Energ. Infect . Dis. 5,10-14). This strain was found to be opacity factor (OF) negative with a Tl phenotype. Usually, OF negative strains with T1 phenotypes are associated with acute rheumatic fever. However, strain ST4529 was isolated from the blood of a patient with septicemia. Comparison of the deduced amino acid sequence of the mature hypervariable N-terminus of ST4529 showed only 43% identity with that of M5, the closest matched OF negative strain with a T1 phenotype. Thus, ST4529 most probably encodes a new serospecifically unique M protein which is associated with septicemia rather than pharyngitis infections. The strains with these phenotypes are very important because their sequences should be considered for developing any anti-streptococcal vaccines.

  • The primary succession of the pebble area in gye-bang chon, an upper stream bank of north han river, was investigated by belt transect method from July to October 1990. The stsges of bare area, herbaceous pioneer, perenial herb, woody plants and pine stand were recognized from stream bank to inland. The change of the coverage in herbaceous plants increased with developing sueccessional sere but decreaser with increment of woody plants. The species sequence cyrves vs. relative coverage were geometric in pioneer stage and graduaiiy changed to lognormal y\type as the development of forest. The species diversity was highest during then woody plants stage, probably it would to be the edge effect. The soil properties were not noticeable difference between stream side and inland side. It seems that the vegetational developement was not enough to affect soil accumulation.

  • Purpose. The purpose of this study is to identify the role adaptation process experienced by head nurses. Methods. Data were collected from 10 head nurses with in-depth interviews about their actual experiences. All the interviews were recorded and transcribed. The collected data were analyzed by the grounded theory methodology of Strauss and Corbin. Results. The core category was identified as 'weighing and balancing,' and the role adaptation process was divided into six stages by time sequence: inquiring, approaching to others, bringing people into their fold, working with conviction, avoiding conflicts, and settling. Conclusion. The results of this study yield useful information for top mangers of nursing to identify, by stages, the demands of the head nurses in their role adaptation process. The findings of this study contributes to developing programs that facilitates the head nurses' role adaptation.
