As industry is progressing and standards of living are improved, the demand of electrical energy is expected to grow 8-9% annually. Therefore, the importance of electrical fire prevention technology with the ability of the power supply is being emphasized. According to the statistics of fire in Korea, fire occurred about 45,000 cases annually, and electrical fire possessed about 20%. The electrical fire by poor contact has increased gradually, can be connected as great fire to secondarily induce short circuit and earth fault. Then analysis of heating causes of electrical connections between copper and copper alloy is needed. Also, detection and analysis algorithm of oxide at copper alloy are necessary. In this research, in order to understand the characteristics of oxide growth with rising resistance and heating, it is demonstrated that the oxide at electrical connections can cause fire due to arcing.
Confirming the direct link between neural circuit activity and animal behavior has been a principal aim of neuroscience. The genetically encoded calcium indicator (GECI), which binds to calcium ions and emits fluorescence visualizing intracellular calcium concentration, enables detection of in vivo neuronal firing activity. Various GECIs have been developed and can be chosen for diverse purposes. These GECI-based signals can be acquired by several tools including two-photon microscopy and microendoscopy for precise or wide imaging at cellular to synaptic levels. In addition, the images from GECI signals can be analyzed with open source codes including constrained non-negative matrix factorization for endoscopy data (CNMF_E) and miniscope 1-photon-based calcium imaging signal extraction pipeline (MIN1PIPE), and considering parameters of the imaged brain regions (e.g., diameter or shape of soma or the resolution of recorded images), the real-time activity of each cell can be acquired and linked with animal behaviors. As a result, GECI signal analysis can be a powerful tool for revealing the functions of neuronal circuits related to specific behaviors.

This paper presents a lightweight true random number generator (TRNG) using beta radiation that is useful for Internet of Things (IoT) security. In general, a random number generator (RNG) is required for all secure communication devices because random numbers are needed to generate encryption keys. Most RNGs are computer algorithms and use physical noise as their seed. However, it is difficult to obtain physical noise in small IoT devices. Since IoT security functions are required in almost all countries, IoT devices must be equipped with security algorithms that can pass the cryptographic module validation programs of each country. In this regard, it is very cumbersome to embed security algorithms, random number generation algorithms, and even physical noise sources in small IoT devices. Therefore, this paper introduces a lightweight TRNG comprising a thin-film beta-radiation source and integrated circuits (ICs). Although the ICs are currently being designed, the IC design was functionally verified at the board level. Our random numbers are output from a verification board and tested according to National Institute of Standards and Technology standards.

Abstract: In this study, an induction heating system using resonance is developed to remove remaining moisture and contaminations which could be generated during fabricating secondary batteries. This system is composed of power supply and induction coil. Power supply needs an oscillator, zero crossing detection, frequency tracking function, and induction coil needs a dummy coil to obtain a uniform temperature distribution. It is very important to obtain a uniform heating temperature distribution of battery cell case in the induction heating system before pouring electrolyte into battery cell. Experimental results show a temperature distribution deviation of below 1℃ in the external position of battery cell cases. As well, the temperature of battery cell itself shows distribution of 40℃±3℃.
The purpose of this study is to perform radiation monitoring by acquiring gamma images and real-time optical images for 99mTc vial source using charge couple device (CCD) cameras equipped with the proposed compact gamma camera. The compact gamma camera measures 86×65×78.5 mm3 and weighs 934 g. It is equipped with a metal 3D printed diverging collimator manufactured in a 45 field of view (FOV) to detect the location of the source. The circuit's system uses system-on-chip (SoC) and field-programmable-gate-array (FPGA) to establish a good connection between hardware and software. In detection modules, the photodetector (multi-pixel photon counters) is tiled at 8×8 to expand the activation area and improve sensitivity. The gadolinium aluminium gallium garnet (GAGG) measuring 0.5×0.5×3.5 mm3 was arranged in 38×38 arrays. Intrinsic and extrinsic performance tests such as energy spectrum, uniformity, and system sensitivity for other radioisotopes, and sensitivity evaluation at edges within FOV were conducted. The compact gamma camera can be mounted on unmanned equipment such as drones and robots that require miniaturization and light weight, so a wide range of applications in various fields are possible.
To understand the microcircuitry of the brain, the anatomical and functional connectivity among neurons must be resolved. One of the technical hurdles to achieving this goal is that the anatomical connections, or synapses, are often smaller than the diffraction limit of light and thus are difficult to resolve by conventional microscopy, while the microcircuitry of the brain is on the scale of 1 mm or larger. To date, the gold standard method for microcircuit reconstruction has been electron microscopy (EM). However, despite its rapid development, EM has clear shortcomings as a method for microcircuit reconstruction. The greatest weakness of this method is arguably its incompatibility with functional and molecular analysis. Fluorescence microscopy, on the other hand, is readily compatible with numerous physiological and molecular analyses. We believe that recent advances in various fluorescence microscopy techniques offer a new possibility for reliable synapse detection in large volumes of neural circuits. In this minireview, we summarize recent advances in fluorescence-based microcircuit reconstruction. In the same vein as these studies, we introduce our recent efforts to analyze the long-range connectivity among brain areas and the subcellular distribution of synapses of interest in relatively large volumes of cortical tissue with array tomography and superresolution microscopy.
In modern society, user privacy is emerging as an important issue as closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems increase rapidly in various public and private spaces. If CCTV cameras monitor sensitive areas or personal spaces, they can infringe on personal privacy. Someone's behavior patterns, sensitive information, residence, etc. can be exposed, and if the image data collected from CCTV is not properly protected, there can be a risk of data leakage by hackers or illegal accessors. This paper presents an innovative approach to "machine learning based reversible chaotic masking method for user privacy protection in CCTV environment." The proposed method was developed to protect an individual's identity within CCTV images while maintaining the usefulness of the data for surveillance and analysis purposes. This method utilizes a two-step process for user privacy. First, machine learning models are trained to accurately detect and locate human subjects within the CCTV frame. This model is designed to identify individuals accurately and robustly by leveraging state-of-the-art object detection techniques. When an individual is detected, reversible chaos masking technology is applied. This masking technique uses chaos maps to create complex patterns to hide individual facial features and identifiable characteristics. Above all, the generated mask can be reversibly applied and removed, allowing authorized users to access the original unmasking image.

In this paper, we report design, fabrication and characterization of the WBRM (Wide Band Receiver Module) for LADAR (LAser Detection And Ranging) application. The WBRM has been designed and fabricated using self-made APD (Avalanche Photodiode) and TIA (Trans-impedance Amplifier). The APD and TIA chips have been integrated on 12-pin TO8 header using self-made ceramic submount and circuit. The WBRM module showed 450 ps of rise time, and corresponding 780 MHz bandwidth. Furthermore, it showed very low output noise less than 0.8 mV, and higher SNR than 15 for 150 nW of MDS(Minimum Detectable Signal). To the author's knowledge, this is the best performance of an optical receiver module for LIDAR fabricated by 200 um InGaAs APD.
The objective of this paper is to determine the conditions of road surface by utilizing the images collected from closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed on roadside. First, a technique was examined to detect wet surfaces at nighttime. From the literature reviews, it was revealed that image processing using polarization is one of the preferred options. However, it is hard to use the polarization characteristics of road surface images at nighttime because of irregular or no light situations. In this study, we proposes a new discriminant for detecting wet and dry road surfaces using CCTV image data at night. To detect the road surface conditions with night vision, we applied the wavelet packet transform for analyzing road surface textures. Additionally, to apply the luminance feature of night CCTV images, we set the intensity histogram based on HSI(Hue Saturation Intensity) color model. With a set of 200 images taken from the field, we constructed a detection criteria hyperplane with SVM (Support Vector Machine). We conducted field tests to verify the detection ability of the wet road surfaces and obtained reliable results. The outcome of this study is also expected to be used for monitoring road surfaces to improve safety.

Voice over IP (VoIP) is a technology for the delivery of voice communications and multimedia sessions over Internet Protocol (IP) networks. Instead of being transmitted over a circuit-switched network, however, the digital information is packetized, and transmission occurs in the form of IP packets over a packet-switched network which consist of several layers of computers. VoIP Service that used the various techniques has many advantages such as a voice Service, multimedia and additional service with cheap cost and so on. But the various frauds arises using VoIP because VoIP has the existing vulnerabilities at the Internet and based on complex technologies, which in turn, involve different components, protocols, and interfaces. According to research results, during in 2012, 46 % of fraud calls being made in VoIP. The revenue loss is considerable by fraud call. Among we will analyze for Toll Bypass Fraud by the SIM Box that occurs mainly on the international call, and propose the measures that can detect. Typically, proposed solutions to detect Toll Bypass fraud used DPI(Deep Packet Inspection) based on a variety of detection methods that using the Signature or statistical information, but Fraudster has used a number of countermeasures to avoid it as well. Particularly a Fraudster used countermeasure that encrypt VoIP Call Setup/Termination of SIP Signal or voice and both. This paper proposes the solution that is identifying equipment of Toll Bypass fraud using those countermeasures. Through feature of Voice traffic analysis, to detect involved equipment, and those behavior analysis to identifying SIM Box or Service Sever of VoIP Service Providers.
