In many distribution systems important cost reductions and/or service improvements may be achieved by adopting an efficient inventory policy and proper selection of facilities. These efficiency improvements and service enhancements clearly require an integrated approach towards various logistical planning functions. The areas of inventory control and transportation planning need to be closely coordinated. The purpose of this paper is to construct an integrated model that can minimize the total cost of the transportation and inventory systems between multiple origin and destination points, where in origin point i has the supply of commodities and in destination point j requires the commodities. In this case, demands of the destination points are assumed random variables which have a known probability distribution. Using the lot-size reorder-point policy and the safety stock level that minimize total cost we find optimal distribution centers which transport the commodities to the destination points and suggest an optimal inventory policy to the selected distribution center. We also show if a demand greater than one unit will occur at a particular time, we describe the approximate optional replenishment policy from computational results of this lot-size reorder-point policy. This model is formulated as a 0-1 nonlinear integer programming problem. To solve the problem, this paper proposes heuristic computational procedures and a computer program with UNIX C language. In the usefulness review, we show the meaning and validity of the proposed model and exhibit the results of a comparison between our approach and the traditional approach, respectively.

Multicast Routings is a big challenge due to limitations such as node power and bandwidth Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET). The path to be chosen from the source to the destination node requires protocols. Multicast protocols support group-oriented operations in a bandwidth-efficient way. While several protocols for multi-cast MANETs have been evolved, security remains a challenging problem. Consequently, MANET is required for high quality of service measures (QoS) such infrastructure and application to be identified. The goal of a MANETs QoS-aware protocol is to discover more optimal pathways between the network source/destination nodes and hence the QoS demands. It works by employing the optimization method to pick the route path with the emphasis on several QoS metrics. In this paper safe routing is guaranteed using the Secured Multicast Routing offered in MANET by utilizing the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) technique to integrate the QOS-conscious route setup into the route selection. This implies that only the data transmission may select the way to meet the QoS limitations from source to destination. Furthermore, the track reliability is considered when selecting the best path between the source and destination nodes. For the optimization of the best path and its performance, the optimized algorithm called the micro artificial bee colony approach is chosen about the probabilistic ant routing technique.
When we estimate an origin-destination matrix from traffic counts. origin-destination matrix estimation from traffic counts according to the selected optimal traffic counting links is method for improving the results of origin-destinaation matrix estimation and for increasing economic efficiency. This paper proposed model of selecting traffic counting links using integer program technique, and selected a traffic counting links using this model, and estimated and origin-destingtion matrix from traffic counts according to the selected optimal traffic counting links. Also, we compared a result of estimating origin-destination matrix from the selected optimal traffic counting links using this model to a result of estimating origin-destination matrix from the randomly selected traffic counting links. The error analysis result was more improved a result of origin-destination matrix estimation using this model than a result of randomly selected links.
A strategic decision making on location selection for product transportation includes many tangible and untangible factors. To choose the best locations is a difficult job in the sense that objectives usually conflict with each other. In this paper, we consider a multi stage multi criteria transshipment problem with different types of items to be transported from the sources to the destination points. For the optimization of the problem, a goal programming formulation will be presented in which the location selection for each product type will be determined under the multi objective criteria. In the study, we generalize the transshipment model with a variety of product types and finite number of different intermediate nodes between origins and destinations. For the selection of the criteria we selected the costs(fixed cost and transportation cost), location numbers, and unsatisfied demand for each type of products in multi stage transportation, which are the main goals in transshipment modelling problems. The related conditions are also modelled through linear formats.

The purpose of this study was to examine the importance and satisfaction of exhibition and convention destinations from the MICE(meeting, incentive tour, convention, and exhibition) planners. Overall, four results were revealed from this study. First, considering the importance of selection attributes, soundproofing, lighting, temperature, A V facilities, the space of main convention hall and exhibition were the most important attributes. Second, hypothesis 1 suggested that there were statistically significant differences in the attributes of convention destination selection based on the socio-demographic variables. More specifically, a statistically significant was found in the 17 attributes out of 5 factors and 4 demographic variables. Third, hypothesis 2 suggested that there were statistically significant in the attributes of convention destination selection based on the planning characteristics of MICE. For instance, statistically significants were found 9 attributes out of 5 factors and the 4 planning characteristics. Fourth, the regional space of exhibition and convention was the most influential to the intention to revisit, followed by exhibition and convention facilities and use cost. And also, considering the recommendation to the other MICE planners who recently have used exhibition and convention centers, the facilities was the most influential, followed by use cost and tourism space surrounding exhibition and convention centers.

In this paper, we proposed the relay node selection scheme using property of node such as velocity, direction in Delay Tolerant Networks. the existing selection scheme is caused the problem increasing the transmission delay and packet loss, if select the relay node for different mobile with destination. To overcome this problem, we proposed the relay node selection scheme using the property of mobile node. the proposed scheme represents and shares the property of mobile node. The proposed algorithm assumed the sketchy position of node from mobile node delivering property of destination. In addition, the propose algorithm recognizes and analyzes the context of mobile node to provide the relay node transferring the data efficiently. The simulation result provides the better result in terms of transmission delay and packet delivery ratio by selecting transmission by relay node according property of node.

In this paper, we propose a Cooperative Transmission Strategy using Entropy-based Relay Selection in Mobile Ad-hoc Wireless Sensor Networks(MAWSN) with Rayleigh Fading Environments. The main features and contributions of the proposed cooperative transmission strategy are as follows. First, entropy-based relay selection is used to improve data transmission reliability from a source node to a destination node. Second, we present a theoretical analysis model for the proposed cooperative transmission strategy with the outage probability of the end-to-end performance. The performance of our protocol is evaluated using analysis and simulation.

In this paper, LAC(Look-ahead AGV Controller) has been developed for efficient routing of parts in semiconductor and LCD production systems. Several procedures have been developed as sub-modules. LACP(Look-ahead AGV Control Procedure) which controls AGVs using the information on the current and future status of the systems is the main element of the LAC. To support LACP, DSP(Destination Selection Procedure) which determines a destination of a part and AGV call time, SSP(Source Selection Procedure)which selects a part coming next to a buffer when the buffer becomes available. and RTM(Response Time Model) which estimates empty travel time of AGVs and waiting time for an available AGV have been developed. A simulation experiment shows that LAC reduces part's flow time, AGV utilization, average and maximum inventory level of a central buffer, empty travel time of an AGV, and waiting time for an available AGV.
In this paper, we propose a basic virtual grid-based routing algorithm in order to devise an efficient routing method in ad hoc networks using the location information of nodes, energy level, etc. A packet is forwarded to the X-axis direction at first based on the location information of a destination node, and then it is forwarded to the Y-axis direction as its location becomes close to the destination from the viewpoint of the X-axis. Due to the selection of next hop nodes to deliver a packet from a certain node to a destination node, we can regard the whole network as a virtual grid network. The proposed routing algorithm determines routing paths using the local information such as the location information of a destination and its neighbor nodes. Thus, the routing path setup is achieved locally, by which we can expect reduction in network traffics and routing delays to a destination. To evaluate the performance of the proposed routing algorithm, we used the network simulator ns2 and compared its network throughput with that of an existing routing algorithm.

Mobility data is important to understand social phenomena and problem. Previous studies have utilized Origin-Destination (OD) visualization methods to represent human's mobility. However, the effectiveness of visualization tools as a method for understanding social phenomena remains unexplored. Therefore, in this study, we developed a visualization tool called SeoulOD-Vis to facilitate understanding social issues. It included three different modules: map visualization, condition selection, and detailed information presentation. We recruited 28 participants to evaluate the SeoulOD-Vis and compared it with a publicly available visualization tool. The results suggested that the SeoulOD-Vis had higher usability and problem-solving performances. Interview results suggested that it attributed to its 'condition selection' and 'detailed information presentation' modules. Our results will contribute to develop visualization tools to solve social problems using mobility data.
