  • This study identifies elements involved in designing rehearsals for improving preservice teachers' capacity to teach mathematics. Observation of a secondary mathematics methods course and regular interviews with the teacher educator following each class were used in this research. After characterizing what is considered and enacted in rehearsals as a way to help preservice teachers practice the work of teaching mathematics, I illustrate them with examples from the observations and interviews. I then discuss the challenge of dual contexts-the teacher education classroom and the secondary mathematics classroom-and dual perspectives-the mathematical and pedagogical-in designing and enacting rehearsals. I conclude with implications for mathematics teacher education.

  • This study was to investigate what pre-service teachers pay attention to when designing science lessons. As a result of analyzing the responses of pre-service teachers, it is analyzed that pre-service teachers are designing science lessons with emphasis on science inquiry, considering students' interest, level, and treatment of misconceptions, and closely related to daily life. In particular, it was found that elementary school pre-service teachers made a lot of comments on science class design that emphasizes experimentation and inquiry, so it was found that emphasizing inquiry was recognized as an important point in science lesson design. It is very positive that pre-service teachers recognize important aspects of science education, such as emphasizing inquiry. In addition, it is suggested that the opportunities for class design and demonstration through collaboration with teachers and colleagues should be increased for pre-service teachers' professional development of teachers.

  • Five and above engineering courses were selected from each of exemplary international MOOC platforms, and common e-learning design strategies were drawn out through observing the courses and analyzing the course elements. By finding out both macro(platform) and micro(content) levels of designing strategies, this study suggests the direction for designing engineering courses incorporating e-learning nationally. The major trend of current e-learning design is to provide bite-sized contents rapidly created and to deploy instructional strategies for promoting student participation in learning and diverse and contextualized learning experiences.

  • The purpose of the research was to analyze the characteristics which appeared to the process of designing experiment for pre-service elementary teachers. This study were participated 26 pre-service elementary teachers. The findings indicated that first, the researcher figured out the process elements could constructed in 12 elements such as 'states problem or question, predicts outcome or hypothesizes, lists materials needed, arranges steps in sequential order, lists more than 3 steps, Explore variables and select one or more variables, plans to control variables, plans to measure and observation, plans data collection, plans to repeat testing and tells reason, states plan for interpreting data, states plan for making conclusion based on data, states plan for making conclusion based on data' but did not figure out 2 elements such as 'defines the terms of the experiment, practice safety'. second, the characteristics of pre-service elementary teachers in the process of designing experiment were as follows; pre-service elementary teachers designed experiments unstructured process listed types and showed the superficial level of the design experiment. The results show that the programs of designing experiment activity should be constructed with the process elements which were concentrated by pre-service elementary teachers, should provide feedbacks to design experiment more accurately.

  • In this paper, actual didactical transposition and dramatization of designing patterns presented in 4th grade mathematics curriculum is critically reviewed. Patterns in designing patterns are not wallpaper patterns generally. The method of designing new patterns using unit given pattern are not the same as the method of designing wallpaper patterns. In the viewpoint of not designing wallpaper patterns, the context of designing new patterns using unit given pattern is said to be putting transparent stickers. In this paper, on the premise of this characteristics, the shape of unit given pattern, the method of designing new patterns using unit given pattern, and the rule of putting unit given patterns continually are critically discussed. The shape of unit given pattern have to be square actually. In designing new patterns using unit given pattern, if the regularities of designing new patterns can be presented, any regularity is fine. Even though the relationship between new patterns and wallpapers designed by using unit given pattern is not clear, in that these two patterns can not be unrelated, designing new patterns using unit given pattern could be an example of wrong elementarization(Freudenthal, 1973).

  • Feature-based NC machining, which requires high quality of 3D CAD model, is widely used in machining aircraft structural part. However, there has been little research on how to automatically detect the CAD model errors. As a result, the user has to manually check the errors with great effort before NC programming. This paper proposes an automatic CAD model errors detection approach for aircraft structural part. First, the base faces are identified based on the reference directions corresponding to machining coordinate systems. Then, the CAD models are partitioned into multiple local regions based on the base faces. Finally, the CAD model error types are evaluated based on the heuristic rules. A prototype system based on CATIA has been developed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

  • This article aims to analyze the experience of designing and operating a class model linking undergraduate and graduate students in engineering education and suggest its development direction. To achieve these objectives, the undergraduate-graduate linked class model was applied to community problem-solving education and a case was analyzed. It also specifically presented the process of how we design the class model and what the actual operational performances and improvements are. This study found that undergraduate and graduate students could build integrated and horizontal cooperative relationships in their classes through undergraduate-graduate linked education and, particularly, graduate students could gain meaningful educational experiences. However, it was difficult to obtain tangible performances through the team activities of these students within a semester. In order for engineering colleges to operate undergraduate-graduate linked education, it would be necessary to provide a longer and more systematic educational environment and better curriculum. The study tried to seek specific tasks and ways to improve them.

  • In this paper, we propose the computational thinking education framework which provides three steps of computational thinking process and three kind of activities about computational thinking learning in class. The key idea of this framework is to provide the guidelines of designing activity steps of teaching and learning computational thinking in class using three axles of framework such as problem area, process of learning, and steps of computational thinking process. After designing a framework, we show that sample course of programming education program containing contents of Informatics subject in middle school by implementing our framework. Proposed framework and programming education program in middle school will be the good case study and guide to implement computational thinking concerned education programs in elementary, secondary, and universities.

  • This paper focuses on development of a fashion design education course that will foster the talent and aesthetic consciousness of fashion design student. The writer reached the content of the designing ideas to practical applications as the defined scope of fashion design education. For designing idea in practical application : matching ideas, contrasting ideas, formative combinations and revisionism were used. For design ideas, the ideas developed by 飯塚弘子, 万江入重子, 香川達子 were used in revision. To detail the content of design education, fashion magazines, portfolios, photographs and related fashion design educational materials were used. 1. Matching ideas : it proposes such identical expression into costume by making a research of developing material, application form and color extraction from design sources. 2. Contrasting ideas : it proposes such opposite expression into costume by making a research of opposite to image, form, position and purpose from some object. 3. Formative combinations : it proposes such new expression into costume by combining a detail of costume with the other object. 4. Revisionism : it proposes such modified expression into costume by making a research of deletion, change, addition and conversion in costume.
