In this paper, we proposed a miniaturized folded inverted F antenna with ISM-band (center frequency : 447 MHz) for mounting in intelligent parking sensor. First, to mount the antenna in the intelligent parking sensor module (72 mm × 70 mm) with limited size, a folded inverted F antenna was designed at low frequency 447 MHz (wavelength λ : 670 mm) of the ISM-band. As a result, it resonates in the ISM band and obtains suitable characteristic with a -10 dB bandwidth of 13 MHz (2.9%). In addition, the H-plane pattern by the vertical and horizontal elements represents the omni-directional patterns from which the null point is removed, and the E-plane has directivity in a specific direction. Finally, it is suitable as and antenna for vehicle management in parking lots.
A compact beam combiner based on two-mode interference (TMI) in multimode waveguides is proposed, and its feasibility is shown through simulation with the three-dimensional beam propagation method. The input waveguides are separated by about 1 ㎛ at the interface with the multimode waveguide, so that the fabricated waveguide pattern is well repeated. The power transmission to the output port from the red, green, and blue input port is 93.5%, 94%, and 93%, respectively. When the wavelength deviation from a center wavelength is 10 nm, the power transmission is maintained to be greater than 90%. When the waveguide width error is 40 nm, the power transmission is maintained to be greater than 85% for all the three colors. The polarization dependence of the beam combiner is almost negligible, and its size is as tiny as 0.02 × 4 ㎟.

Single layer latticed domes which have a mechanics property, a functional property, a aesthetic property and so on, occupies one part of long span space structures and after this, the using parts will be extended. The frame network pattern of single-layer latticed domes can be infinitely taken into account. The typical network patterns are triangular, square, hexagon, lamella and rib etc. It would take long time and cost too much to erect large roof structures with traditional erection techniques due to require of large number of temporary bracing and supports. The erection of large roof structures requires special techniques. As one of these special techniques is the Step-Up election method that utilizes jack-up supports and this will extremely saves time and cost to erect large roof structures. The objective of this study is to analysis the buckling characteristics of single-layer lamella domes according to the support number and position. From the result of this study, we obtained the fundamental data for the structural engineers who design the temporary support of large roof structures.
Purpose: The objective of this study was to compare initial implant stability measured by RFA between different implant systems during the initial healing period. Material and Methods: Fifty-four patients (36 males/18 females) who had been treated at the Department of Periodontology, Chonbuk National University Dental Hospital during the period between January and November in 2007 were included in the study. The mean age of the subjects was 49 years old (18 to 77). A total of 104 implants (Type A: 3i $Osseotite^{(R)}$, Type B: $Replace^{(R)}$ select, Type C: ITI implant) were placed following the manufacturer's standard surgical protocols. Implant stability quotient (ISQ) readings were obtained for each implant at the time of surgery, 2-, and 4-month postoperatively. Result: No implant was failed during the observation period. At the baseline, the difference between mean ISQ values of 3 implant systems was statistically significant (p<0.05). However, at 2-, and 4-month following implant surgery, no significant difference was observed between ISQ values of the implant systems. In the same implant, the ISQ values of Type B and C implants increased (p<0.05), but those of Type A implants decreased during the 2-month healing period. The mean ISQ values of Type B and C implants showed a increasing tendency, while those of Type A implants were stable for the 4-month follow-up period. Conclusion: Within limits of this study, it can be concluded that implant design and surface topography of implant might influence the ISQ value and changing pattern during the initial healing period.

In this study, cold flow and combustion tests are conducted and analyzed to validate designed rocket engine head generating high temperature/pressure steam. At first, uni-injector was designed and manufactured, and cold flow test was conducted. Through this, differential pressure that can supply designed flow rate was confirmed. Also, Each injector's spray pattern were confirmed by patternator. Based on cold flow test results, we selected injectors among the candidates and arranged them on engine head, and cold flow and propellant spray tests were conducted. Finally, combustion test was carried out to analyze the flow rate, pressure, combustion efficiency. As a result, validation of rocket engine head for the development of the high temperature and high pressure steam generator has been completed.
Structural health monitoring (SHM) has gained in popularity in recent years since it can assess the performance and condition of instrumented structures in real time and provide valuable information to the asset's manager and owner. Operational modal analysis plays an important role in SHM and it involves the determination of natural frequencies, damping ratios and mode shapes of a constructed structure based on measured dynamic data. This paper presents the operational modal analysis and seismic response characterization of the Tsing Ma Suspension Bridge of 2,160 m long subjected to different earthquake events. Three kinds of events, i.e., short-distance, middle-distance and long-distance earthquakes are taken into account. A fast Bayesian modal identification method is used to carry out the operational modal analysis. The modal properties of the bridge are identified and compared by use of the field monitoring data acquired before and after the earthquake for each type of the events. Research emphasis is given on identifying the predominant modes of the seismic responses in the deck during short-distance, middle-distance and long-distance earthquakes, respectively, and characterizing the response pattern of various structural portions (deck, towers, main cables, etc.) under different types of earthquakes. Since the bridge is over 2,000 m long, the seismic wave would arrive at the tower/anchorage basements of the two side spans at different time instants. The behaviors of structural dynamic responses on the Tsing Yi side span and on the Ma Wan side span under each type of the earthquake events are compared. The results obtained from this study would be beneficial to the seismic design of future long-span bridges to be built around Hong Kong (e.g., the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge).
This paper studies the Internet stream server which serves multimedia stream services such as VoD and MoD. The Internet multimedia stream server is developed to provide 50 users with continuous multimedia stream contents simultaneously. This paper focuses on introducing design concepts, operation details and on evaluating system performance and doing sensitivity analysis with respect to the change of the system components. The performance evaluation is performed using simulation in order to identify the system component that mostly affects the system performance. The sensitivity analysis shows the service delay rates of the multimedia stream server depending on the user's service request pattern. Also, the analysis is made on the utilization rates of the core system components such as the PCI bus and the Ethernet card, and on the system performance change by adding more system components.
The office is an excellent candidate for implementing daylighting techniques because of the relatively high electric lighting power densities and long daytime use pattern. The quantity of light available for a space can be translated in term of the amount of energy savings through a process of a building energy simulation. To get significant energy savings in general illumination, the electric lighting system must be incorporated with a daylight - activated dimmer control. A prototype configuration of an office interior has been established and the integration between the building envelope and lighting and HVAC systems is evaluated based on computer modeling of a lighting control facility. First of all, an energy-efficient luminaire system is designed for both a totally open-plan office interior and a partitioned office. A lighting design and analysis program, Lumen-Micro 2000 predicts the optimal layout of a conventional fluorescent lighting fixture to meet the designed lighting level and calculates unit power density, which translates the demanded amount of electric lighting energy. A dimming control system integrated with the contribution of daylighting has been applied to the operating of the artificial lighting. Annual cooling load due to lighting and the projecting saving amount of cooling load due to daylighting under overcast diffuse sky are evaluated by a computer software, ENER-Win. In brief, the results from building energy simulation with measured daylight illumination levels and the performance of lighting control system indicate that daylighting can save over 70 percent of the required energy for general illumination in the perimeter zones through the year. A 25 % of electric energy for cooling may be saved by dimming and turning off the luminaires in the perimeter zones.
Objectives: In 1995, an outbreak survey in Gozan-dong concluded that an association between fiberglass exposure in drinking water and cancer outbreak cannot be established. This study follows the subjects from a study in 1995 using a data linkage method to examine whether an association existed. The authors will address the potential benefits and methodological issues following outbreak surveys using data linkage, particularly when informed consent is absent. Methods: This is a follow-up study of 697 (30 exposed) individuals out of the original 888 (31 exposed) participants (78.5%) from 1995 to 2007 assessing the cancer outcomes and deaths of these individuals. The National Cancer Registry (KNCR) and death certificate data were linked using the ID numbers of the participants. The standardized incidence ratio (SIR) and standardized mortality ratio (SMR) from cancers were calculated by the KNCR. Results: The SIR values for all cancer or gastrointestinal cancer (GI) occurrences were the lowest in the exposed group (SIR, 0.73; 95% CI, 0.10 to 5.21; 0.00 for GI), while the two control groups (control 1: external, control 2: internal) showed slight increases in their SIR values (SIR, 1.18 and 1.27 for all cancers; 1.62 and 1.46 for GI). All lacked statistical significance. All-cause mortality levels for the three groups showed the same pattern (SMR 0.37, 1.29, and 1.11). Conclusions: This study did not refute a finding of non-association with a 13-year follow-up. Considering that many outbreak surveys are associated with a small sample size and a cross-sectional design, follow-up studies that utilize data linkage should become standard procedure.
Developing the modern design of Hanok and providing support for the commercialization model development in recent years propelled by the New Hanok Support Strategies of the central government in conjunction with the New Hanok revitalization related projects reflecting local goverments. New Hanok revitalization, the rekindling and revaluing of human behaviors and interests in local goverments following the social and cultural changes of the past decades, has emeraged as an increasingly traditional area of concerning in New Hanok planning. In this paper we attempt to this discussion by describing recent projects in New Hanok revitalization in Jeollanam-do Province. Therefore, this study aims to examine the classification of compound knowledges based multidimensional relationship by using Self-Organizing Maps (SOM). SOM is an unsupervised learning neural network model for the analysis of high-dimensional input data. By using SOM, we were able to create a cluster map reflecting the characteristics of the New Hanok. In this case the pattern of the preference data was easily understood by visual analysis. Liking for compound knowledge deduced from this data was classified into 8 categories according to the compound knowledge properties of New Hanok. As a result, a systematic approach for analysis the characteristics of individual family and living environment of New Hanoks and 10 space usage patterns the changes in some aspects of New Hanok.
