굽힘-비틀림 복합하중을 받는 복합재료 구조물의 최적 강건 설계 (Robust Design of Composite Structure under Combined Loading of Bending and Torsion)

  • This research studied robust design of composite structure under combined loading of bending and torsion. DOE (Design of Experiment) technique was used to find important design factors. The results show that the beam height, beam width, layer thickness and stack angle of outer-layer are important design parameter. The $2^{nd}$ DOE and RSM (Response Surface Model) were conducted to obtain optimum design. Multi-island genetic algorithm was used to optimum design. An approximate value of 6.65 mm in deflection was expected under optimum condition. Six sigma robust design was conducted to find out guideline for control range of design parameter. To acquire six sigma level reliability, the sigma level reliability, the standard deviation of design parameter should be controlled within 2.5 % of average design value.

  • Six sigma is a business management strategy and is used to improve the quality of the products and processes in many organizations. However traditional six sigma methodology, namely DMAIC, is not suitable for developing products. This paper investigates DFSS methodologies and presents a DFSS methodology for order based industry. Specifically, we suggest a customized DMADV method for order based industry and present a case study for developing a configuration optimization of the flying simulators.

게이트 도장 품질 개선을 위한 6시그마 프로젝트 사례 연구 (A Case Study of a Six Sigma Project for Improving Gate Painting Quality)

  • This paper presents a six sigma project for improving gate painting quality in a medium-sized automotive part company. The project follows a disciplined process of five macro phases: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. A CTQ(critical to quality) is determined based on COPQ(cost of poor quality) analysis, and a process map is utilized for identifying process input variables. Three KPIV s(key process input variable) are selected; Painting Temperature, Painting Quantity, and Painting Viscosity, and DOE(design of experiments) is utilized for finding the optimal process conditions for three KPIVs. MINITAB software is used for data analyses and DOE. The sigma level of defects rate has improved from 2.93 to 3.66.

  • 최근 미국의 모토롤라(주)에서 시작된 6 시그마(Six Sigma) 경영이 우리나라의 기업들에게 큰 관심의 대상이 되고 있다. 이 논문은 6 시그마 중에서 설계 및 개발분야에 사용되는 6$\sigma$ 설계(Design for Six Sigma: DFSS)에 관하여 고찰하여 보는 논문이다. 6 시그마에 관한 많은 이론이 나와 있으나 아직 DFSS에 관해서는 매우 미약한 편이다. 이 논문에서는 먼저 DFSS의 정의, DFSS 프로세스의 단계, DFSS의 로드맵 등을 먼저 다루고, 다음으로 DFSS에서 사용되는 각종의 과학적 관리기법들(품질기능전개, Scorecard, FMEA, TRIZ, 다구찌설계 등)에 대하여 간단히 기술하기로 한다. 마지막으로 DFSS의 실무적용방법을 제안한다.

  • A steel pallet to carry lighter logistic articles is developed based on the DFSS(design for Six Sigma) methodology. Combining the conventional DFSS(Design For Six Sigma) methodology with that of VE(Value Engineering) is the novel feature of this paper to achieve maximum cost reduction. In this paper, systematical steps to achieve the required structural spec's are presented by conventional DMEDI(Define-Measure-Explore-Develop-Implement) process. To imply the target costing, evaluation of functions consisting of the pallet has been performed by value methodology. Then best design concept is selected in the Explore step, following structural optimization utilizing FEM. Finally the performance of prototype is investigated by pilot test in the Implement step. The developed steel pallet is being commercialized in the fields of automated ware house.

  • 현장의 품질 관리방법으로 식스시그마 DMAIC(Define-Measure-Analysis-Improve-Control) Process는 설계 분야의 Design for Six Sigma Process인 DMADV (Define-Measure-Analysis-Design-Verify), ICOV (Identify-Characterize-Optimize-Verify) Process 로 문제를 설계 단계에서 사전에 해결하는 How to do 의 방법, Process 로 확대되어 많은 기업으로 확대되고 있다. 또한 최근 신상품, 신사업 기획이 중요해지면서 What to do 에 해당하는, 블루오션 전략과 트리즈의 예측 방법과 Computer Aided Innovation Software를 포괄하는 DFSS의 확대 Process 와 그 효용에 대해서 본 논문에서 설명하고자 한다.

Six 시그마를 이용한 연료전지 촉매구조의 최적화 (Fuel Cell Catalyst Optimization by Six Sigma)

  • 연료전지에 사용되는 백금촉매 제조 공정상의 변수로서 환원제를 사용 하였다. 환원조절 횟수, 환원온도, 환원제의 양 그리고 공정시간의 네 가지의 제어인자에 변화를 주어 입자의 크기와 ICP 수율 등의 촉매 구조에 관한 최적화의 평가를 위해 six sigma 의 design of experiment 기법을 사용하여 각각의 변수간의 최적점을 확인해 보았다. 부분요인배치를 통해 입자크기 2.2nm 이하와 ICP수율 75% 이상의 촉매제조를 위하여 도출된 결과로서 주된 제어인자는 환원 시간과 환원 온도로서 밝혀졌고 각 변수의 최적 조건으로서는 환원조절횟수 1회, 환원온도 $67-88^{\circ}C$, 환원제의 양 0.5ml 그리고 10분의 공정시간에서 최적화가 이루어졌다.

  • This paper presents a six sigma project for improving customer satisfaction of a franchise store. The project follows a disciplined process of five macro phase : define, measure, analyze, improve, and control(DMAIC). Due to the limitation of existing methodologies, numerous difficulties arise during the six sigma application to transactional processes. This paper expected to be helpful to service industry in which is very difficult to measure and implement.

  • In this paper, the six sigma scheme is employed together with the rigid-viscoplastic finite element method to obtain the optimal metal flow lines in hot press forging. In general, the six sigma process is consisted of following five steps : define, measure, analyze, improve and control. Each step Is investigated in detail to meet customer's requirements through improvement of product quality. A forging simulator, AFDEX-2D, is used for analysis of the metal flow lines of a multi-stage hot forging process under various conditions of major factors, determined at each step of the six sigma process. The analyzed results are examined in order to reveal the effects of major factors on the metal flow lines and the formed shapes. The effects are used to find an optimal process and the optimal process with die is devised and tested. The comparison between required metal flow lines and experiments shows that the approach is effective for optimal process in hot forging design considering metal flow lines.

  • 6 Sigma uses DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology as process of solving problem. Enterprise already propelling successfully 6 sigma such as Motorolla, GE and consulting companies leading 6 sigma also propose DMAIC methodology traditionally. But from making 6 sigma activated, enterprises and 6 sigma consulting companies propose 6 sigma methodology matching office indirection part and research and development part. As the forward example, DFSS(Design For Six Sigma) is R&D part application in GE. This study investigates 6 sigma methodology corresponding to Right Process of the kernel factor. Especially for optimum design of the R&D part, revise DFSS definition and general concept organization through Lean DFSS methodology research and analysis.
