  • In this study, six mainland Chinese designer brands-Xander Zhou, Sankuanz, Sean Suen, Feng Chen Wang, Pronounce, and Angel Chen-were selected that had their works presented at both Chinese and global fashion shows between 2016 and 2021. By analyzing the design characteristics of each brand, it is possible to understand the style characteristics and trends of Chinese menswear designs. A case study approach was adopted utilizing literature data, whereby 1663 photos were collected from the fashion information website POP (www.pop-fashion.com). Changes in Chinese men's image and the menswear market were identified. The design characteristics of modern Chinese menswear are as follows. First, the results from analyzing the target brands show that each brand has a distinct personality. Compared with the traditional or formal style, urban casual and sports styles (based on street style) account for a larger proportion. Second, the boundaries between different styles are becoming ambiguous, and contrasting styles are harmoniously expressed by breaking down boundaries through changes and combinations of colors, materials, and details. Third, after examining the overall trend, 2018 was a watershed point, after which the design trend has changed from either conservative or exaggerated to a practical and everyday style, demonstrating a genderless trend.

  • Recent weddings have been performed in more unique and characterful styles going beyond the existing same old method of past weddings, and they are changed into small weddings with simplified style without unnecessary procedures by choosing a wedding venue different from others. It is necessary to develop a new wedding dress design suitable for such changing wedding culture, and especially, dresses are required to have some practical designs, so that they can be worn not only for the wedding ceremony or party but also for everyday life. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop a new normal wedding dress for small weddings that reflect design according to the emerging small wedding culture. To this end, a theoretical review of small weddings was conducted, and based on this, a new normal wedding dress design was developed for small weddings. Based on practicality and economic feasibility, the New Normal Wedding Dress exhibited 'variable by wearing method' that changes according to the wearer's purpose and 'variable by attaching and detaching method' that changes according to the detachment of details. The small wedding dress developed through this study is expected to become a new standard for wedding dresses that is suitable for the changing wedding culture.

  • This study has been performed to analyze and consider the problems after 30 years in terms of landscape design competition process in Korea, so that it can provide the basic data, which can improve the future landscape design competition. We have used Delphi Investigation to carry out a survey that targets professionals and identifies problems. The results are summarized as follows. Firstly, the results of the analysis of Landscape Design Competition for institution theory and case studies showed that there is an issue from four perspectives which are 'method of design competition', 'guidelines for design competition', 'winner selection process', and 'design changes after winning' Secondly, the process by professional Delphi performed expert analysis, and agree with expert opinion. As a result, we derived the problems of a landscape design competition system with the 12 items. Third, in the 'design competition style', two items, the 'design competition style' and 'problem of design public offering period' had become a problem. Fourth, the 'Guidelines for design competition', 'non-hierarchical excess of the amount of instructions', 'directive determined the guidelines', and the 'provision of confusion' three items had also become a problem. Fifth, 'sex expert committee review selection process winning work', 'Problems of participation', 'examination scoring system experts lack', and 'non-landscaping' had become a problem. Sixth, 'The design of the original order' as much as possible 'design changes after the winning work' Four 'order to Comments to reduce the creativity of the design of the climate', 'original extension', 'contractor feedback of excess without the promise of frequent personnel changes', design period of the person in charge is reflected in excess item has become a problem. I considered that a continuous research on the improvement of the problems of the landscape design competition system based on the results must be performed.

  • This research takes an introspective and critical approach to the college level visual communication design education in Korea. As such, the changes of the college-level visual communication design curriculum in Korea are analyzed. Selected were 3 major design schools which have a relatively long design educational history in Korea. Those 3 schools are Hongik University, Seoul National University and Ewha University. The curricula were categorized and its changes were followed. The faculty members of those 3 schools were also analyzed. The college level design education began from 1946 at Seoul National University. The Koreas design education was influenced from the Japanese Design curriculum and then the American design curriculum from the beginning. The Korean design educators accepted those new design educational paradigm without any criticism, and it is now structurized in our design educational system. It caused the curriculum with practice-centered classes mostly, and the function centered design education without understanding of socio-cultural environments. The Korean design education needs more liberal arts which will lead us to more discourses about ourselves, and needs to employ more local design educators to solve the intellectual skewness in the Korean academic society in the field of Design.

  • The analysis concerns collapse behavior of framed vehicle models with the change of design parameters at the initial stage of conceptual design. Collapse analysis of a vehicle model with framed structures has been carried out using finite element limit analysis. The analysis makes sequential changes of design parameters from an initial model with frames of uniform section so as to stage then weak parts. As a result of those design changes, the collapse load of a model has been increased and the deflection toward a passenger room has been reduced. The results demonstrate the versatility of finite element limit analysis as a tool that confirms the safety of vehicle models.

  • In this paper, the design area of a fabricated solar cell has been analyzed with respect to its charge density. The mathematical calculation used for charge-density derivation was obtained from the 2001 version of a MATHCAD program. The parameter range for the calculations was ${\pm}1{\times}10^{17}cm^{-3}$, which is in the normal parameter range for n-type doping impurities ($7.0{\times}10^{17}cm^{-3}$) and also for p-type impurities ($4.0{\times}10^{17}cm^{-3}$). Therefore, it can be said that the fabricated solar-cell design area has a direct effect on charge-density changes.

  • Development of high efficiency and eco-friendly LED source has been progressed continuously. Also, by nation's regulations, public institutions have changed existing luminaires to LED luminaires. However, there are several differences between existing luminaires and the intensity distribution of general planar LED luminaires. In case of changing existing luminaires to LED luminaires, by such differences, there are inefficiencies both quality aspect and energy aspect in luminous environment. Therefore, this study aims to conduct a study on the changes of intensity distribution and luminous environment by reflector shapes in indirect reflected LED luminaires with software for optical design of a luminaire (Photopia 2.0) and lighting design of a space (ReluxPro). This study shows the changes of intensity distribution and luminous environment of indirect reflected LED luminaires and indirect fluorescent lamp luminaires by reflector shapes.
