A Study on Papers of Smoking Cessation Program (금연프로그램 효과분석 논문의 현황 및 방향)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze papers of smoking cessation program into method and effect 13 papers that purblished from January, 1980 to Oct., 2001 in the country and 30 papers that purblished from Jan., 1980 to Jun., 1999 in other countries were analized. The result of this study can be summarized as follows 1) The most of subjects were students(46.5%) and residents(30.2%). 2) There were a few of papers based on the Theory(9.3%). 3) Programs included education(58.3%), reward (13.9%) and support(12.5%). 4) There were experimental design(46.5%), non-experimental design(29.5%) and experimental design(25.0%). The most of papers of non-experimental desigs were significant. 5) Behavior(48.7%), knowledge(15.4%) and attitude(12.8%) were evaluated as a effect of program. Knowledge had higher significant rate than other evaluation items. 6) Programs that was from a year to two years had the highest significant rate.

  • 2005년 12월에 개정된 초 중등학교 정보통신기술교육 운영 지침에 의해 초등학교에서도 프로그래밍 교육을 실시해야 하고, 이에 따라 프로그래밍 도구의 도입이 불가피한 실정이다. 그러나 기존의 프로그래밍 도구는 구입 비용, 유지보수, 업그레이드, 학습자가 가정에서 실습을 하기 위해서는 개별적 설치를 해야 하는 등의 문제점이 있고, 영문 명령어 사용으로 인해 학습자가 문제해결력과 논리적 사고력 향상을 위한 알고리즘 작성, 코딩보다 영어 이해, 해석에 더 많은 시간이 소요되어 프로그래밍에 거부감을 느낄 우려가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 초등학교 프로그래밍 교육 목표 달성을 위해 한글 명령어와 영문 명령어 입력이 가능하고 웹을 기반으로 하는 한글 프로그래밍 도구를 설계하고 개발하였다. 본 웹 기반 한글 프로그래밍 도구를 통해 인터넷이 연결된 곳이면 언제, 어디서든 프로그래밍 실습이 가능하고, 한글 명령어 입력이 가능함으로써 영어에 미숙한 초등학생들에게 프로그래밍에 대한 거부감을 줄일 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

  • 프로그래밍 학습은 프로그램의 작성, 오류 수정, 실행을 통해 학습자의 문제 해결력과 논리적 사고력을 향상시킨다. 따라서 프로그래밍 언어는 쉽고 익히기 쉬어야 한다. 또한, 초등학생은 Piaget의 인지적 발달 단계로 볼 때 구체적 조작기(concrete operational period: 6, 7$\sim$11, 12세)에 해당하는 시기이다. 이 시기는 구체적인 사물을 가지고 조작함으로써 논리적 사고가 가능하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 프로그래밍이라는 매우 추상적인 작업을 로봇이라는 구체물을 통해 결과를 확인할 수 있게 하였으며, 프로그래밍 학습의 초기 단계에 있는 초등학생이 쉽게 사용할 수 있도록 한글을 기반으로 프로그래밍 학습을 할 수 있도록 하고, DB를 활용하여 명령어를 사용자가 추가, 삭제, 수정할 수 있는 한글 기반의 로봇 프로그래밍 도구를 설계 및 개발하였다.

Application and Evaluation of Object-Oriented Educational Programming Language 'Dolittle' for Computer Science Education in Secondary Education (중등 컴퓨터과학교육을 위한 객체지향형 EPL '두리틀'의 적용 및 평가)

  • Current computer education is difficult to educate basic concepts and principals of the computer science because the 7th curriculum of computer education is focused on the application of software. According to the ACM K-12 report about the computer science education model, current computer education is taking the wrong way and we should put the highly priority on the education of the fundamentals through programming languages for a better computer education oriented to the computer science. This paper introduces a new object-oriented educational programming language "Dolittle". The design principals of Dolittle are simple syntax of Korean, incremental programming, text based programming, aliasing of function, and object-oriented programming. Being applied to middle school classes, we can confirm that Dolittle is easy to learn, and gives rise to high interest and keeps interest through a course, and also is of great practical use in class for programming novice.

The Analysis of the Process Elements and the Characteristics of Elementary pre-teachers' Designing Experiment Activities (초등예비교사들의 실험설계활동에 나타난 특성 분석)

  • The purpose of the research was to analyze the characteristics which appeared to the process of designing experiment for pre-service elementary teachers. This study were participated 26 pre-service elementary teachers. The findings indicated that first, the researcher figured out the process elements could constructed in 12 elements such as 'states problem or question, predicts outcome or hypothesizes, lists materials needed, arranges steps in sequential order, lists more than 3 steps, Explore variables and select one or more variables, plans to control variables, plans to measure and observation, plans data collection, plans to repeat testing and tells reason, states plan for interpreting data, states plan for making conclusion based on data, states plan for making conclusion based on data' but did not figure out 2 elements such as 'defines the terms of the experiment, practice safety'. second, the characteristics of pre-service elementary teachers in the process of designing experiment were as follows; pre-service elementary teachers designed experiments unstructured process listed types and showed the superficial level of the design experiment. The results show that the programs of designing experiment activity should be constructed with the process elements which were concentrated by pre-service elementary teachers, should provide feedbacks to design experiment more accurately.

  • Recently the wireless internet technologies have been widely used in education environments. The purpose of this paper is to design and implement mobile class management support system. The proposed system is based on the existing CSCL theory and modified in accordance with mobile environments. The proposed system has the following characteristics. First, various types of cooperation are possible in this system. In this system, students can participate actively through tools such as BBS. Second, wired and wireless web sites are linked systematically so that users can access via either site. Two sites are complementary each other. Third, parents are encouraged to participate in class activities. Some basic information such as curriculum and daily announcement is open for parents. The proposed system has been applied to elementary school students. Extensive survey shows that the proposed system has good effect on participation, interaction, and satisfaction in class management, respectively.

Reforming Accounting Education Content to Fulfill Business Environment Needs

  • Purpose - Considering the importance of education as the base for countries' development, the results of various studies show that accounting education is not reconciled to business environment changes with huge defects in methods of education and knowledge transition. Research design, data, and methodology - By reviewing current research and considering the effect of 12 factors, the study traces and detects why accounting education is far from the business environment from viewpoints of academic and practitioner bodies. After testing for validity and reliability, 225 questionnaires were administrated among representatives of three groups. Results - Respondents were not satisfied with lack of specification of various scientific areas of accounting, that less attention is paid to accounting software education, and about the rarity of workshops for performing accounting skills and discordance between accounting education and standard rules. Conclusion - These findings agreed with Albrecht and Sack (2001) who stated that the current style of accounting education is very cluttered and incomplete and needs major adjustments: subjects of accounting education must be based on the grounds of work needs not on willing academics.

A Comparative Analysis of the Problem-Based Learning and Project-Based Learning Strategies on the Course of Engineering Design (공학설계 교과목에서 문제 중심 교수-학습과 프로젝트 중심 교수-학습 전략 비교 분석)

  • This paper deals with the analysis and comparison between on the course of a conventional engineering design (typically project-based learning) and a new engineering design (introduced PBL model to conventional engineering design). The purpose of the study is to identify and prove the effect of PBL model on the course with a new teaching-learning. In the result of t-test, there were significant statistics in the creative problem solving and self-directed learning ability, but no significant statistics in the team work and communication skill ability. Also the average of factors of the problem-based strategy is higher than those of the project-based strategy. In the problem-based strategy, the team work has the most influential on the satisfactory of the course. However in the project-based strategy, the comprehension of given product has the most influential on the satisfactory. Finally, this study has proved the effect of PBL on the course engineering design.

A Study on the Design and Effect of Computational Thinking and Software Education

  • The software centered world following the fourth industrial revolution is rapidly approaching us. Countries around the world attach importance to software's ability as one of the key elements for training future human resources. In order to train software centered human resources, each university has designated Software Education as an essential curriculum for not only major but also non-majors. In the past Software Education was an education for a major, but recent Software Education was changed to the essential education that is necessary for all living in the software centered world. In the past the curriculum was focused on software development and implementation-oriented education, but recent curriculum emphasizes sequential arranging and thinking of problem solving. In order to reflect trends in recent Software Education in detail, we integrate Software Education with major concept of Computational Thinking. In this paper, we analyzed the effect of the main concept of Computational Thinking on Software Education for non-majored learners who received Software Education based on Computational Thinking (here refers to learners who major in humanities, social sciences and arts). In addition, research models of satisfaction, self-efficacy, and occupational change was established as the elements of Software Education, and it was found that there was a relation between Computational Thinking and Software Education.

Effects of Problem Based Learning on Critical Thinking Disposition and Problem Solving Process of Nursing Students (문제중심학습이 간호학생의 비판적 사고성향과 문제해결과정에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the change of critical thinking disposition and problem solving process in students who experienced problem-based learning. Method: This research design was one group pre-post test design. Twenty-five nursing students who participated in ‘'Nursing Process' course with two PBL packages for a semester in 2004 were the subjects of this study. The data were analyzed by repeated measures of ANOVA, and content analysis. Result: The problem defining in problem solving process was improved significantly, but there was no significant difference in the critical thinking disposition. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that PBL has a positive effect on nursing students' problem solving process, But for a more significant effect on a continuous base for critical thinking of nursing students, faculties should use web based and simulation-based education for self directed learning along with clinical situation-based scenarios.
